Hey guys! I'm so excited for today's video. I know I have a lot of Esthetician's or people interested in the field that follow me, so I thought it would be perfect to film a video dedicated to all you estys! Esthy for 26 yrs here 🙌🏻❤️ still love it snd have my own biz. Good esthy working for themselves can make well over $100,000. It takes time but totally worth it.

Where did you attend school?
nada farghal there was no esthy program when I went to school. So I did full cosmo in iowa. 1991. 😄. So most of my training honestly came from my first job. 8 yrs in Scottsdale AZ day spa

This is me rn. I’m so over college . I love doing makeup and I realized I want to be a esthetician. 😭
Trinny TheMUA most states don’t require you to have an esthetician/cosmetology license to be a makeup artist, if you do decide to go with the program definitely try and talk to the students in the different modules and see what they like and don’t like.
When I did the program in 2014 we hardly touched makeup it literally was watching CZcams makeup tutorials but that was the institute I went to Ogle skin, hair, and nails

There’s no such thing as a Medical Esthetician! You only get your license to be an Esthetician :) they teach us about this in esthetics school!
Kristie D. Actually, I’ve learned about it too and they are different lol you can search for the job titles and the difference of pay. Esthetician’s make around 20-30k while medical esthetician’s make 40-50k (in my state). The difference is a medical esthetician has their laser license. And I’ve also watched several esthetician’s on CZcams explain the difference..

I am a late bloomer when it comes to realizing I’m unhappy with my career choice. My “passion” had always been dental hygiene (coincidentally lol) and then after entering the field I struggled to find my groove. Entered college yet again to get into nursing, switched halfway through to psychology (that side spoke to my heart) and then when I realized I couldn’t get very far with a bachelors in psychology I switched BACK to nursing and here I am at 35 years old suddenly realizing THIS is an option for me that encompasses a multitude of possibilities without the commitment of a masters degree that I would otherwise need. All that to say, thank you for sharing your experience and being so thorough!
I'm a late bloomer too, 36yrs old. I just quit my job yesterday in the insurance field after realizing it not for me at all. I'm looking getting into Aesthetician school. I feel it's not too late to give it a go👍

Queen I love this! I am currently in school to be a dental hygienist and have been in school for a year now and realized I was doing this more to make my family proud. I have always been intrigued by skincare and learning about new products and I also have wanted to build a clientele for something and run a business because i just think that’s so sick! Anyhoo this past weekend I decided I am dropping out of school and have a couple tours coming up for aesthetics and I am SOOO excited!!!!

when you said you wanted to be a dental hygienist my eyes got so big lol. i was in school for dental hygiene for about a year and knew tradional college wasn’t for me either. now i’m in the process of getting accepted into the beauty institute here. that’s so wild that you popped up on my feed!

I wanted to be an accountant so badly then a month in college I realized college isn’t for me and neither is accounting I always loved skincare ever since I started getting acne it just became such a big interest in my life for years so I’m currently thinking abt dropping out college to become an esthetician. I’ve been an esthetician for over 15 years.i was going to college for accounting and was having a hard semester; decided to get a facial to relax and that’s when it clicked, I’ve had acne all my life and it just felt it was my calling. I love it and it doesn’t feel that I work, is always fun and interesting. But it is a lot of work and dedication.
Omg. It’s amazing to hear everyone’s story. I can relate. I thought I was crazy to quit university to invest in becoming an esthetician. I went to college to make my mom proud but I wasn’t happy. I figured that being an accounting major wasn’t for me either. I invested so much hope and time in being an accountant. Something happened along the line and now I have a clearer mind of what I want. I know that I am passionate in skin care and beauty. It makes me happy to take care of my skin and finding amazing results. I want to share the same experience to others.

Very glad I saw this video. I’m 15 and in a technical school for cosmetology. There are so many fields and I’ve been having a hard time figuring out what I want to do. After watching this video, you’ve inspired me to research and look into being a esthetician. Thank you!

Went from wanting to be a surgeon, to a pediatrician, to now either doing neonatal nursing or being an esthetician. Good thing I’m 18 cuz If I go to nursing’s and it ends up being too much or just not realistic even tho I’m taking initiative to get a certificate from programs THANK YOU for this video cuz I’d rather pursue something that makes me even more happy than something that will make me doubt the quality of my life!!!! I graduated in May and I’ve been working since June as a Dental Hygienist- you made the right decision! Even during hygiene school I knew it wasn’t for me, it’s a great paying career, just not one I can do and be happy! I’m looking into esthetics now, thanks for the video :)

i always wanted to be a dentist & then moved onto being a dermatologist. did my fall semester & basically had a breakdown over how many years i had to go for & how rigorous the curriculum is for my career. came home for break, realized i’d rather become an esthetician. basically all the same things i wanted with a dermatologist but less school & debt. withdrew & immediately enrolled in an esthetician program! so hearing your story & realizing how similar our situations are is so amazing. i’m so happy to start my journey in esthetics!

I'm glad this was the first video i watched looking up esthetician information. I have also been set on going to school to become a Dental Hygienist my whole high school years, and then I started to work in a Total Woman Gym and Spa right after i graduated high school and became close to a few estheticians there, then i changed my mind on what i wanted to go to school for the more i learned about Esthetician! I really enjoyed you sharing your experience and how much passion you haven this field. You're very beautiful and when you said your mother saw the light in your eyes talking about becoming one, she's completely right because I could just see in you right away in this video. Thank you for the video! I've been researching this career field for awhile now and you gave more info than any other videos that I've seen so far about the Medical field of Esthetician. I start Gskin Beauty in March, so this made me even more excited to learn/gain more experience in the Medical Esthetician's field.

@@remixzero8115 did you check out universal spa training academy in Downers Grove? This school includes your laser training through TrueU in Chicago. Of course it's more if you're gearing towards medical aesthetics. I graduate tomorrow from this school and I highly recommend it. Just because you're getting your laser certification, dermaplaning, microneedling, microcurrent, hydrafacials certification extra and a few more like lash extension training, Brazilian wax as well. It's all included in your tuition.
