- This is the 5th Episode in our 2024 Metric Dirt Track Build for our new Crate Racin USA Street Stock. In this video, I am designing and installing the floor pan that is both safe and will make a great foundation to mount our full containment seat.
Dirt Race Life is all about grass roots Dirt Track Racing both the technical how to and the at track action with us focusing on Street Stock Racing like CRUSA SS, Factory Stock, Pure Street, Stock, Etc.

Thank you sir, appreciate you watching!
Learning so much watching this series.
Thats what I am sure hoping for and glad to hear it sir!
Love the removable floor pan idea. Definitely gonna have to try that out on my next one.
Seemed like every time I ended up hanging upside down in the cockpit I kept telling myself I was going to do that the next time.
@@DIRTRACELIFE lol I hear ya there it’s hard on us big boys hanging upside down through the window.
sure wish i was this good, great video
Mr. Jim, You are probably better and just being modest.
Love the videos buddy I know doing all that floor pad and stuff is time consuming but it all takes can't wait to see the video on the ice bowl you have a good one and take care
Thank you Rick
Man, turning out the vids. Saw the main hoop this morning, before work, now you're on the floor pan. Keep it up!
We are wide open ;)
I love that you're going to the Ice bowl.. we took two cars down, in 2013. Ended up 1st and 2nd. Great group of guys to race with .. They didn't like getting beat by a 355 with Vortecs and a 2bbl, and 8 inch tire though!!!
355 Vortec is all you need when ya got her hooked up though :)
Love the content. Our most favorite dirt racing you tube channel. You guys run alot different stock cars then what we run in western pa.
Thank you Sir, I appreciate you watching!
Jason, that removable floor pan is a great idea ! Much easier to work on the pedal asy, clean up, etc. Good Job sir ! See ya at TST my friend !
Yes sir, Make sure and come holler at us next week ;)

I seen on the crush, that the right side door bars are inline with the frame. They should be about 12" past and a removable/replaceable bar about 2" past that. So the right side door bars should be about 14" outside the frame. Im in the process of building a factory stock. Love the channel, very entertaining and informative. Thanks for keeping the videos going. Good luck at ice bowl and next season.
I would like to build a factory stock at some point and if I did build one I would definitely make it a perimeter cage just like you are describing. Its a different type chassis design from what I normally do but a good one I'd like to do.
@@DIRTRACELIFE I understand. Was crush body wise, narrower than the cars you raced against? It looked like it was in the videos.
No there are body width rules in the class and I was at the max like the others. 64" front, 68 center and 60 tail.
@@DIRTRACELIFE I see, maybe it was the roof height that made it look like that. I appreciate your replies, thanks for the great content.
Yes, The roof is way tall and made the car seem narrow and short when it is not. like an optical illusion.
Hey, Jason, my rookie season is coming up, and I’m putting a new body on my street stock (Full frame, full floor pan, aluminum body) and I’m needing to weld on some T-bars and body tabs. All I have is a flux core mig welder. Do you think it will penetrate good enough to make strong mounts, or do I need to find a welder that can use shielding gas and make a cleaner weld? I’m not new to race cars, just a new driver and new welder. Love your videos and keep up the good work!
You can get plenty of penetration with a flux core welder. Just make sure to do the prep on the surfaces and make sure you have a good setup. It will chip out and look great if you have it good and hot and run a good pattern.
What type of paint did u paint the headers with bc I've never been able to keep paint on mine for any longer than the first fire up 😊😅😢
Thats the VHT Flame Proof Header paint but it needs to be redone. that was the orange and it immediately turned yellow on fire up and I lost some of it off them.
what did you use to cut the .093 aluminum sheet??? what blade in angle grinder??
That was just a 0.043 fiber disk cutoff wheel. They work fine if you will be patient with it ;)
