- THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL It is more of a daily personal diary, or perhaps a vlog, centered around the building of plastic model ships. Don’t be surprised when I unexpectedly, but usually just momentarily, get into something completely unrelated. I was big into building models years ago. Apparently I’m trying to bring back “the good old days” by building plastic model ships. Feel free to learn from my mistakes while I muddle through this.
Hi Ron, great video today. We really do take electricity for granted, until it goes away. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
Yep, like that old song says you don't know what you've got till it's gone. 👍
Hi Ron, get out and enjoy the good weather when you can there are no time constraints on the build. Take care.😊
Thanks 👍
Ron' enjoyed the todays video, loved the look of that large breakfast🤔😂😂 Well happy modelling and progress made. Catch you tomorrow.
👍
Yep Max is right, I'm under the heat dome, it's summer here. It's fairly normal to string together 100+ degree F days for most of June, July and August. We have hit 116 F and a whole bunch of 110, 111 and 112s in the last week. I am just South of Fresno in Central CA. Yesterday was just too hot to go out to the workshop. Mine is in the garage. Lucky that I can watch you!
Hi Michael. I don't think I could take that kind of heat anymore. 😯
@@roncalverley I got sent out here from Ohio in 1975 while I was in the Navy. It has always been hot here in the summer. That said the seasonal average for this time is 97. On the other hand in the winter I have only seen it snow a couple of times.
Hi Ron ,we get snow about an 2 hour drive away in Stanthorpe 900 m elevation, every now and then , lol we don't talk about spring here, actually Australia gets more snow than Switzerland! 😎😎😎😎see you tomorrow
Hi Marc, somehow it's hard for me to envision Australia having snow. Probably Australians have a hard time envisioning Canada being really hot in the summer. 😁
Brilliant show Ron that reminds me I have to file the tops of the funnels on the titanic ready to paint they were black but I used supper glue to glue the tops on when I woke up this morning where I glued them on they had turned white! So was very disappointed. I should of used gorilla glue anything except supper glue that was my first mistake on this model o well we live and learn. Have a great day thanks for the bike ride out also the sunrise 🌅 was beautiful take care.
Hi Rod,
I remember several years ago when I was big into pin turning, I was using I was using a particular CA glue. and it turned white on me. I can't remember what brand it was or how it happened. I think it had something to do with the curing agent, but I'm not sure. 😯
@@roncalverley haha I'm glad I'm not the only one 😅 glad that even a professional like yourself has gone through the same thing 😅
We are definitely under a heat dome in Southern California - average heat where I live has been between 89 and 103 (Farenheit). I've been playing in the hose to cool off!
Hi Corey. I lived in Omaha for three years. We used to get 100 percent humidity and extremely high temperatures like that.
Hi Ron. Vicky purchases our "Sanding sticks" from beauty outlets. Boards of the size you are using are only 99p and we have many different grades. 😊
Regards UK Jimmy and Vicky
Hi Jimmy and Vicky. Thanks for that info. I might check that out. 👍
Sounds like a rough day yesterday. Nice clean up on the parts. Take care n see you next episode.
Tomorrow we spray! 🤞
Hi Ron, Great episode today, life getting in the way of modelling again, enjoy the weather while you can, winter time is model time.. That's a poor design for Go-Pro, how can they market a product that overheats and shuts down ? Imagine Honda supplying a bike that shut down half way to Rickys 🤣I have a different brand of "go-pro" (ish) which has no issues, good job as i cant switch batteries mid skydive !!!🪂🪂
Hi Martin,
I don't think I would have a problem with my Gopro except for the fact that I have it set for maximum quality settings. In other words, highest bit rate, highest frame rate, full frame. If I was to just set 1080p or even 4K30 instead of 4K60. I might not have a problem. By the way, thanks for the link to the video regarding the regarding the submarine. That was an excellent walkthrough. 👍
