The Model Ship - Part 2052
*THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL* It is more of a daily personal diary, or perhaps a vlog, centered around the building of plastic model ships. Don’t be surprised when I unexpectedly, but usually just momentarily, get into something completely unrelated. I was big into building models years ago. Apparently I’m trying to bring back “the good old days” by building plastic model ships. Feel free to learn from my mistakes while I muddle through this.

I rode to Michael's for popsicle sticks. Then later a chilly afternoon ride to Birds Hill. *THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL* It is more like a personal diary, or perhaps a vlog, centered around my experiences, good and bad, of me as an older rider. I tend to think of my bike that I got from Bill’s Cycle as my *"Last Hurrah"*

I'm rather apprehensive about riding my e-bike now, since it broke down on me the other day. But I think the problem was the controller had overheated because I had gone a long distance and the weather was very hot.

Good episode Ron, everything moving right along. 😊
Thanks Gary. 👍
Hey ron, my dad really loves your videos, is there any chance you could say hi to randy in your next one?
.... I'll try to remember 🤞
Nice job making that duct work fit properly. Hopefully Penny bounces back with the new treatment. Great episode today Ron. Take care and see you tomorrow.
🐈🤞
Hi Ron, if you look at the painting guide you can see the location of the top bulkhead lights relative to the two beams you were working on in this episode. Hope this helps.
Yes! Thanks 👍
Probably too late but… where it says instal first, I think you should do the left side of the page first, then install the ‘roof’ first, then the other bulk head
👍
Hey Ron ,great episode , coming along great. 👍
Thanks 👍
Hey Ron, thank you for the nice ride . I'll see you later. 👍🌟
👍
Hand wheels look good.
Thanks Dave! 👍
Great episode Ron. Really sad about Penny, never easy as pets get older. Nice trip down to Michaels. Take care n see you tonight.
Thanks 👍
Hey Ron! You are 100% right re battery's and I am 100% wrong sorry about that hope i didn't cause too much frustration. The diagram looked completely different but hey you got it bang on. Great show and making great progress. Take care catch you tomorrow. 👍
No problem Rod. It gave me something to ramble on about, haha! 😁
@@roncalverley Haha 😄
@@roncalverley Rambling Ron sounds like a bit like a song 😄
Ron’ another great video and you have finished a section of the sub. And a touch motorbiking too. Catch you tomorrow, happy everything Ron.
Thanks 👍
Ron’ a day late 😂 I ha had a busy day yesterday. I do that to’ when you can add glue from underneath. Now the bunkbeds are done you can sleep easy 😂😂😂. Now for today’s video happy modelling.
Hi Paul, Re: *"had a busy day yesterday"* Yup! Life gets in the way of the model table sometimes. 👍
@@roncalverley Ron it does lol
Hi Ron, good job with the handles. Also tell Max I feel for him with his sick cat, I had to put my faithful friend down just nearly two years ago, I still haven’t gotten over it😭😭😭PS what was that paper stuff you got out of your wallet🤑🤑
Hi Phil, Re: *"what was that paper stuff"* Just outside my front door there is a large box. it is my hope that somebody will forget what that *stuff* is and fill my box with it. So far it has not happened. Maybe one day. Haha! 😁
Ron, great ride to Michaels , and the second ride all fantastic. 👍🏍️😄
Thanks 👍
Ron, you should always put your ignition key in your left pocket...same side as the switch...make it a habit.... you're welcome. ........(47 yrs riding bikes ....35 yrs fixing them)
Good tip! Thanks! 🔑🏍️👍
Hi Ron I recently got a new batch of sanding sticks but they are beauty supply store nail files which work fine but next time maybe I try to make my own as well. Good episode. See you tomorrow😊
👍
Tongue suppressors work great to if your looking for a wide stick
👍
Hi Ron we have put down 5 dogs ,Maureen and i said this is our last dog , shes 15 years old and acts like not a day over 5 years , but you can tell she has lost her patients lol🐆🐆🐕🐕🐶great video m 😎😎😎see you tomorrow
🐶🤞
Hobby shops, such as Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc. may be your friend for wooden sticks to glue sandpaper too. Here they come in many different sizes. I would think about using spray glue to the back of the paper, placing the sticks on them and then cutting out a bunch all at one time. See ya. JimE PS: Obviously I type this before the end of the video.............. but..........I don't do retakes.😂
😁
Ron the weatherman said we had 11.2 inches of rain during the month of June so far July is much dryer around here which is good for the people cleaning up from last month flooding.
👍
I think she was surprised when you said you would pay with cash. Cash??? what is that?
Haha! 😁
You got it right!
😊
Hi Ron ,excellent episode today. 👍🌟
Hey, thanks 👍
Hey Ron ,smooth and relaxing e-bike ride like always.GOOD 😎👍🌟
👍

Hi Rod, Re: *"but you only had five"* Thanks for the heads up on that. Will check! 🤞
Awesome evening e bike adventure😊
Thank you 👍
Hi Ron, good episode, the module is looking good! See you tomorrow😊
👍
Nice fitment today Ron. Definitely enjoyed the visit as well. Great camera work as always. Take care n see you tomorrow.
😊👍
Hi Ron job well done Mr C😎😎😎😎😎! We had our first really cold nights -1c, brrrrrrrrrr! See you tomorrow
Minus one celsius! Ohh my goodness Marc. I can see it now. A field full of shivering kangaroos. Haha. 😁
Hi Ron excellent ride , maybe another day to Michael's get those popsicle sticks and make some sanding sticks OK Cool .🏍️👍😄😄
That would be cool 😁👍
Hey Ron, fantastic great episode, you talking about making your own sanding sticks great idea I got sandpaper wooden ,glue, double side tape, and I did it, thank you, I just save money and thank you for the ideal, I'm always learning on your show.👍🌟🌟🌟
Cool, thanks 😊
Great episode Ron. I don’t think I have to tell you my favourite part of yesterday 😂. Made it home safely. Got in around 1:00 am. Thanks again for the visit, it was really nice to meet a cyber friend in person finally. Next time Tara will definitely be there. Take care and see you tonight.
Thanks Chris. I enjoyed the in person visit too. See you later. 👍
Hi Ron, excellent ride. 🏍️👍🏍️
👍
Looking good, moving right along!
Thanks Jeff 👍
Gabes swabs do work pretty well has holding sticks. Nice job spraying, take care n see you next episode.
Thanks 👍
Nice episode Ron. Great to see Chris is OK.
Glad you enjoyed it Dave 👍
Still kicking Dave. Almost back up and running, just finishing off the new model room.
Great episode ron really coming on looks fantastic also its nice to be able to meet your fans and have a coffee. Nice sunrise at the beginning of the show. They shure liked the bike. Pizza 🍕 looked yummy take care catch you soon 👍
Thanks 👍
Still in one piece HUSSAR! couple of thoughts; well done for sticking to your shut down and start up routine despite observers. If I drove to the speed limit (god forbid below it!) where I am I would have someone about 30cm behind my rear wheel. Are your roads quiet or just more courteous ?
🤞
Ron’ a really interesting video, nice to see an other two modeller’s for coffee. And nearly there on another module too. Happy pizza day Ron
👍
Logically Ron would the pieces fit from the top of the drawing down or from the bottom piece up in order they are on the drawing.
?
Hi Ron ,great episode tonight. 👍🍕🌟
👍
Hello Ron, I was wondering if you considered using your Tamiya drill as a paint mixer? I have added a 2 1/2” nail with a wide head and it works really well. It would at least save you some money. Great video!
Nice tip
👍
Hi Ron. When you spend a few days painting and you get to glue them down , great job ! 😎😎😎 great to see you out and about , meeting fans , so cool 😎😎😎see you tomorrow, ps lol Maureen said your using our plates , small world 😊😊😊😊
Hi Marc and Maureen, Yes, those plates we're very popular about 40 years ago. I think you are not the first person to comment saying that they also had that same pattern. Interesting! See you tomorrow. 👍
Great reaction to that car getting ready to make a left turn in front of you at the intersection Ron! It looked like he was trying to beat the traffic 🚦 light which is one of the main causes of crashes! Excellent situational awareness Ron! 👍
🤞👍
🇺🇸 Thanks for another great ride Ron! You know, when I purchased my bike it didn’t have a pillion seat or luggage rack because that’s the way they’re sold by Honda in the States, so I had to purchase it separately. However, the seat or luggage racks are included in Canada and the UK., but your bike doesn’t have it. Was that by choice if I may ask?!? 👍
As far as I know this is the way the Honda Rebel 1100 comes here in Canada when it is ordered with just basic equipment. Now, it is possible that Bill's Cycle ordered it that way --- I don't know. All I know is that I was really lucky to get a bike pretty much exactly the way I wanted it with the DCT. 😊
@@roncalverley The DCT is a godsend in my opinion, and I can relate totally with the joy that the bike brings to you. 👍
Great Ride Ron. Jonathan really liked your bike. Liked the look , stance, sound, I think Hes found a new goal lol. Thanks for the visit again. Ride safe n see you tonight.
Good episode Ron, Happy pizza day!😊
Thank you Gary 🍕👍
Ron installing that tank did a great job of covering up your previous glue mistake so you didn’t have to touch up the paint. 😉
Hi Kevin I never noticed that. Thanks for pointing it out. I feel much better now. Haha, 👍
Emory boards for fingernails work great for sanding, there inexpensive and easy to find! You could probably put it on your next grocery order!
Hi Jeff. I just looked at them on Amazon. Good thought there. Thanks! But then I would not have an excuse to ride my bike to Michaels. Haha! 🏍️😊
Hi Ron, another relaxing ride on the e-bike wonderful.👍🌟
Yes it was 😊👍
Beautiful ride out today Ron if i were you i would definitely reduce the miles that you do on the ebike just in case something happens you don't wanna be pushing that thing let's say miles from home. I hope that was just a glitch with your ebike the other day but you never no so it's best to just be careful. Have a nice Sunday regards Rod
Hi Rod. I'm hoping it was just a glitch too. However, if the circumstances were repeated, in other words, the weather was hot and I went a long distance I imagine it would cut out again. It could be that this is just a problem that this particular ebike has and there's nothing much I can do about it unless I could drill ventilation holes around the controller. That might help. We'll see what happens It's not a big deal. 🤞
