Spongebob is a gift that keeps on giving. There is so much to explore in Bikini Bottom and its residents that I had to do another episode. Today we are focusing on the episode "It Came From Goo Lagoon". What is going on beneath the surface of this lagoon under the ocean and why is Sandy so afraid of it? I’m right there with you on that fear of algae. Always feared that it’d crawl up my arm and suffocate me.
I sorta confused Algae for the fungus that was in that one sponge bob episode, so when I saw algae somewhere in the middle of summer in 2014 I tried to find a snail, which I did, and then I threw the snail into the algae. it wasn't;t until I was 10 when I realized how awful of a mistake that was and the guilt made me cry myself to sleep. I may never forgive myself for the time I almost got a snail killed, thankfully I threw the snail with too much effort and it went somewhere else. but every night my brain haunts me with this memory and the anxiety makes me think to myself "I'm a murder,I deserve death for what I did to that snail" I always have to remind myself that snail survived. but the whole multiverse theory where there's a parallel universe where I did in fact get that snail killed haunts me. I may never sleep again.

Gibbonz You how Matt Pat presented a fan theory about how the show is a metaphor. Means being corporate company, spongebob is the freelance people, and Patrick is the All American people. Well Sandy could have been technological advances or something similar and the dead goo could harm the nuclear power plant. An example would be North Korea adding SAWS to murder jellyfish.
She's from overland, so I assume she's fairly aware of things (considering she knew her geographical location as Texas) so maybe she knows of Korean Jelly Killer bots and knows they may be lurking nearby? Or that global warming is on the rise? It's not the actually jellies that are scary, but what they mean

Do you how much it hurts to be stung by a jellyfish? The stingers on the corpses can still work for a while after the death ( depending on the species of the jellyfish) hence why she thinks they are dangerous.
Dead bodies, while not dangerous on their own, tend to contain a lot of bacteria and parasites that are consuming it. She very easily could have been talking about a less immediate health risk in messing around with decomposing matter. Another thing she might have been worried about is leftover stingers.
For once I'd like a channel that isn't specifically geared towards children that explains these theories about the shows I used to enjoy.

Its Feb 2024 and ever since MatPat announced his retirement, I've been binge watching all old episodes especially the ones that still use the into theme song. We will miss you MatPat!
Not only was I that kid, I did an entire science project on "touching the algae" and won first place at the state fair for it!
Studying whether fertilizer makes algae grow. Little did eleven-year-old-me know, I completed that science project just before the deadly algae blooms in Central Florida, caused by fertilizer runoff.
And no, I wasn't poisoned from touching the algae daily for over a month or coating it in wads of nitrogen fertilizer that turned the water bright teal. I did however lose a shoe in the Indian River Lagoon while collecting samples so if anyone finds a girls' blue Mary Jane croc while dredging please let me know. 😆

1. Jellyfish don't just flop over and die, there are very few ways jellyfish corpses can be just laying around, particularly underwater, which could be cause to panic
