Niantic needs to boost route spawns, including Zygarde cells. They also need more Z-cells to be able to be acquired in greater amounts. Also also, longer routes MUST allow for more spawns and cells!

You can definitely get cells from your own routes! The only routes I've done are ones that I've made myself and I have received 10 cells from them. My problem is that sometimes the cell spawns right at the end of the route and I have less than a second to react and click them. If I don't, the route auto-completes and the cell is gone.
I find cells on my own routes all the time
At first I felt like they didn’t appear on the ones I created but lately I’ve been getting them consistently
I have made 3 routes , 2 are loop and 1 is not , the one that is not a loop only gives Zygarde cells , loops don’t .
5 routes today and no cells. Niantic, fix your broken game!
I’ve done like over 10 routes and no cells :) I tried the stop before you finish the route, close the app and reload back into the app. Still nothing :)
I haven't even done a route yet because of how terrible I thought they look, but you're right that 100% Zygarde will be good. I kind of just decided to wait until they fix the issues with routes to even try them
my route got approved immediately! once i was finally able to make them lol i gotta make some more. i saw on a Reddit post earlier that if you restart the app anywhere after about 75m remaining, a Zygarde cell will be right next to you upon returning.

Finally routes is working... I had to figure things out on my own. Making a route was hard, but I finally made a couple. So far every time I do my own routes I get a z-cell. I can even go reverse on my own route and get another z-cell. I didn't know you can only get 3 z-cells a day though. Thanks for that info... like your videos, you keep keeping it real.
I've had decent success with most of the routes that I've created except for one specifically where I haven't found a single cell yet. For the first couple of weeks I was getting a cell about 80% of the time if I paused it near the end of the route and walked to the end. It would spawn right about when I'd get to the end (after it would have auto-completed it if I hadn't paused it) and then I'd go back and unpause it and finish the route.
There was an update about a week ago, and since then I haven't had nearly as high of a success rate getting cells from any of the routes that I do. I'm sitting at about thirty cells now, and I really don't even feel like it has been worth it to do the routes. Some of the rewards are okay, I've gotten rare candies and even an elite TM, but I still don't know if it is worth it. I've only gotten two cells this week from maybe eight runs on routes, and it is frustrating and time consuming and it feels like a waste.
Yeah I do routes I’ve created every day and sometimes I get a cell sometimes I don’t. Mine is usually at the very end of the route but today I got it with about a quarter of the route left.
Fiancée & I went for a long walk at Liberty Station yesterday & completed three routes that were roughly 15 minutes each. We didn’t see one cell. It’s possible we may have missed one but we really don’t think so.

Im so used to routes not existing that when i go out i entirely forget to even check if there is one.. this feature needs huge work, or it needs to go entirely. This was a huge L of a feature
And to help out in Burlington Iowa I've created two routes
My personal observations: I had a 50% ratio of cells found vs. routes walked, however since the last update that ratio dropped to 20%. Found only 2 cells on the last 9 routes. Also, when walking a route in reverse order I still haven‘t found a single cell. Feels like a waste of time now. The „pause route, restart“ move only worked once for me, out of like 10 tries. IoS user.
You can get cells from your own route. In my town there are now only 2 routes, and both created by me. I have 8 zygard cells now

I can get the cell from my own route. Someone explained in 1 route there 3 route spawn, if u caught 3 of the route spawn the cell will not appear, if u ignore the 3 spawn u might can chances to get up to 3 cells, if caught 1 route spawn u may have chances to get 1 or 2 cells, if u can’t see a single route spawn in that route it properly won’t spawn a cell. Might need more focus on the route spawn n wild spawn
The only route I do is the one I made near my work every day and I've always had success with getting the cells on my own route. You know what I do is I don't even pause the route right before the end. I just stand in a certain spot for a couple minutes then keep moving and then they pop up
Yea, I get Cells from my Routes (almost) every day. Sometimes I don’t, but I’ve been living on 3 Routes I’ve created and as of today have 49 Cells. I’m going to do the first evolution tomorrow.
bruhhh, I had to create my own route since the ones I found were too far. My friends can’t create routes but not sure why. They are level 44 and up. 🤷♂️ I got my first two cells using the 100m paused restart method. I don’t bother pausing now and still get them but limited testing tbh. I only walk the route I created 5 times so far. One day it did not give me a cell I think. It is really hard for me to even see the cell cuz I actually walk and the sun on my phone makes it hard to see the cell spawn. I like the exercise. Love your vids AK. 💯
The only routes in our town are the ones I've made. I've gotten several cells from one of those routes. The others have never spawned a cell so far.
I think they will one day bring the 10% form of zygarde to raids cause some of us got 2 star stats so I think they will bring him to raids eventually.

Something I've noticed the past 4-5 days, when doing routes. I haven't been getting any rewards at the end, of any kind. Like completely NOTHING!!! First time it happened I was in the middle of catching a pokemon, so I thought "oh I just missed seeing the rewards pop up because of that"... The next day though, it happened again, but I wasn't in the catch screen or anything. And the route ended before I even got close enough for the route to end... Like 🤔🤔something's sus there. I've been keeping track the past 4 days since. And it keeps happening. Both the early route finishing and lack there of any rewards.... seriously sus!!!
My phone runs Pokémon go just smooth, but when I'm on a route the app crashes over and over again
Is it one cell that appears per route per day or cell that one catches? The cell appeared for me but at the time I didnt know what the sparkly thing was, I figured it was a glitch and I ignored it and completed the route. Then went on to walk the same route back and forth for four more hours with no more cell spawns. Should I just try again tomorrow?
I seem to be having better luck since the app updated to the new season. 3 days in a row I’ve gotten cells from all 3 of my routes. Could be a coincidence

Question: your routes have different start and end or they are loop (same start and end) like pokes in the video?
I made one route here that is loop and i can't get any cell with either my account or friends account and we dont have other routes to check but i get route spawns so i have a theory that loop routes do not pop cell for some reason.
People on Reddit have said the same thing- loops w same start and end are not spawning Zygarde.

Routes suddenly stopped working for me recently. I can pull up routes, but when I click on it nothing happens and I can't exit, and have to close and reopen game.
Just to confirm, you can get Cells from your own routes!
Have they fixed the issue where it crashes the game? I stopped trying after I had to turn off my adventure sync to even get it to remotely work -.-
I've been doing the same route pretty much everyday for a couple weeks and I got cells pretty much everyday until today i couldn't find it and I feel so betrayed. My thing though for a while they all showed up arnd 200ish meters away from the end but some of those times I had to do the restart (I just knew they'd be arnd there so I'd restart there a couple times and circle arnd the area a few times and voila). And then later last week they started showing up like 300ish meters away so I started doing the restarts earlier and a few times they showed up when I walked backwards on the route (like they didn't show up when they were supposed to when I passed by the first time but then after restarting and going back they did) yesterday was the only day when a cell showed up actually at the end of the route like 50ish meters away - I was starting to lose hope because it didn't show up in the 300-200 meters range like it usually did. The restarting at the end of the route never worked for me. I've tried the restart 100-75-50-30 meters away thing multiple times on that route it never worked. Also I did the route with my sister and boyfriend a few times and when one of them got cells the other two of us were for sure getting cells around the same area too but when I did the route with only one of them they usually didn't get cells even though I did - it's the weirdest thing. I felt like maybe I had built up a rapport with the route since I was walking it everyday and getting cells everyday...until today I walked the last 300 meters of the route repeatedly and restarted repeatedly at different points of that and couldn't find anything 😭 feeling super betrayed I thought we'd become friends 😭😂. This is a pretty long route like idk 20 mins or so according to the app but it's also the only one I've been able to get zygarde cells on. It's also the only one around me though so 😅 I've done one other one a few times a couple cities away but I've never gotten a cell on that route. It's much shorter but no matter how hard I try Ive never gotten a cell there before
After the update I haven’t even been able to start a route, the route menu won’t let me select anything and I just have to reboot. After I finally had managed to create one nearby :/ I did get some cells from it a couple of times before this issue, even though it was my route.
This started happening to one of the routes near me. I was assuming it was because someone had created a second route with the same start point, because other routes didn't have the issue.
Can confirm they are even more broken now. You’re supposed to get three special route spawns and since the last update, I haven’t seen ANY route spawns.
Ive personally not had any issues with routes. At 45 cells at the moment. I always get my cells rite at the end also.
I recently reached level 45 so I am now able to create routes. I have created 2 and have 2 more thought out, but it's going to really suck if I can't get cells from my own routes, wtf. My routes are tailored to me, I am able to walk at least one of them every single day lol. I would hate to be wasting my time here. I noticed last night I didn't get a cell from one of my own routes. Going to test it out again tonight...
So I just created my first route yesterday and today I walked it and found a cell. But idk how because I didn’t see the sparkly patch. Def thoroughly confused.
the truth about zygarde cell is, it is always spawns in the end of the route like you can say 95%, you barely found the cell in the middle of the route. and the annoying part is when the route is about to end the cell comes up/ spawning then you just hope that your finger is clicking the cell fast enough before the route automatically end then the badge show up and you fail to claim it. it is sucks
Just make sure the white radius circle doesn't touch the end pokestop
why when i walk a route, from start to finish. It does recongise that I have completed the route and keep telling me i have 10m or 15m left but i have none.
I have one route nearby that does that. I could at least get a cell from it anyway. Another one isn't possible to start because it won't recognize when you get close to the start point, and another one crashes the routes interface if you just tap on it. In short, it's a buggy mess.
im up to 70 cells and theyre mostlly from routes ive created myself, but the rest of the tips u offer are what ive been doing

Finally I was able to create a route today
For me i have got approved 2 routes in my community made by me and daily follow the routes, either one of the route gives me zygarde cell
For whatever reason i can't get zygarde cell/s from anyone else's routes but, can gather them following my own...usually
Do you have to tap on the Cell or is it automatic pick-up?
My game crashes towards the end of the route for some reason but I can hop back on, finish it up, and it will drop a cell.
has soon i got zygarde i started doing routes everyday got to 6 cells and then once i didnt get zygarde cells for 7 times in a row i never did it again.
my only zygarde cells dropped from my own route i did several different routes made by other people and I didnt get zygarde cells so i guess its RNG from 3 different rewards you can get on the route 3 pokemons or 2 pokemons + cell

I've done 5 routes, 4 different ones. Paused and reset the appall the time. Never found any cells.
I’ve legit gotten 5 zygard cells from one route doing it over and over in the same 24 hour period.
i got a cell from my own route the first time. The next two times i try to complete the route i couldnt.
I made one in city park New Orleans and it gives me cells.
Somehow I don't see all the routes in the app. There are routes I've followed before, but cannot find them again. strange.
Not a route but there’s a showcase about a mile from me bc I’ve been in it. It’s refusing to show the challenge in it now. I reboot app and it shows for like 2 seconds then disappears. So basically, I can’t enter little piggy. So sick of Nerfantic.
I've gotten cells on my own routes before. I guess it's a matter of luck.
The route approval system is broken though. First 2 I did on August 17th took 15 minutes to approve. I did them right away after "writing" them. I did 3 more on the 19th, I am still waiting for them to get past review. I Twitter/Xed Niantic Help and no reply.
I do believe that these Routes will be a part of the L 51-60 progress road map.

Not always the cells will pop up in my personal experiences I’m in 50% form and not always a routes will give u a cell.

I have followed 3 routes and never saw a single cell. Also, the people who did the routes in my area did part of them on sidewalks and part in the road. I had to walk in the road to complete the route. I hate this whole route thing.
If you make your own route you don’t get cells? So I just screwed myself by making all the routes in my neighborhood ouch… on Reddit people are saying if a route is a loop with same start and end there are no cells maybe that explains it?

They are broken. The value between route Pokemon (with symbol) and cells is not even comparible.

I honestly just don't feel motivated to do it at all. I work from home and really go out once a week for groceries so I have no reason to go for routes. Plus since I live in apartments with a stop+gym, they won't allow a route there so no grind for me and Poke's point about his own routes made me realize I won't benefit from it lol. I'll just wait for them to pop up in raids with cell rewards to farm.
Could somebody summarize first part of it? So the method to get cells without route compleation is: 1) start route (at start?, at end?) 2) restart app 3) return and search for cells around you?

i submitted a route yesterday and on my first walk i was rewardes 2 cells, so the theory that you can’t get cells from your own routes is false

My guess is just typical organizational hierarchy, lower level employees or department head came up with routes so who cares if it’s jank UI. The guy who came up with XL is a big deal so that feature can’t be turned into a joke so it’s gotta be fixed asap.

I created one 2 weeks ago, it's still "under review". If everyone would create one, it would take years for them to review all of it. And there's seriously not a single route around my area. 😓
@@thomasbazin1529they could put rule to help that like the lol 40 rule they have now. Such as one route request per account per certain time period. I think reason they have not yet is the want to work out most of bug for them.

I haven't seen a single route yet in Oklahoma, and unable to create one. Haven't talked to anyone who says they can. Guessing they're only in coastal states and possibly Texas. It'll probably be another year before they roll out here. Middle America is so fucking ignored

The routes and cells are so broken. Everybody's tips don't work for each other. Me personally I have 107 cells total 90% of them are from routes I've created myself. Also, when I have to restart the game I never pause the route and always get the cell that way. I always get my cells in the last 75m of the route
