If you remember the first 5 or 6 seasons - you were never send to hard counter city after winning a couple games. The current algorithm was likely introduced to give *everyone* just about the same win rate of 52-60%. There is absolutely no skill to this game ever since.

I'm sort of new to GBL, I've been battling for like 6 months only. It seems to me that the community is very divided on believing whether there is an algorithm, so I am kinda hesitant to jump to any conclusions. But I've started to become a little suspicious. Earlier this season, the team I used was a Shadow Magnezone (lead), Shadow Dragonair, and Shadow Gligar. I was tanking at a low ELO for resources, but even during my winning battles, I saw a Falinks lead VERY often--like at least once or twice per set. Weird.
I'm sorry but I can't stand catch cup.
I don't have any mons for it. I have a Shadow Empoleon with flash cannon and blizzard. 😆

The moment Galarian Articuno gets access to Shadow Ball, Fly & Freezing Glare, it will be OP in all three leagues.

There's an AI in charge of the algorithm now, the rng is controlled in a way to still appear random, look up the names of your opponents, some of them don't exist in the player database which means sometimes we are actually fighting an AI controlled bot

I was at 2680 this morning after playing catch cup. I dropped down to 2530.. yeah, I am waiting for the next rotation before I play the Go battle league.

I used it Galarian Articuno and caught it with the ultra ball when I was walking next to 7&11 store. It’s pretty fun to used it when two or four seasons back but I think it drop my ero down and I simply didn’t care of ero points and have fun nuking Pokémon. GBL I know is rigged pretty much, I don’t have to keep when it’s going be long jeopardy

I understand losing is part off playing a game but I hate it when niantic pairs me up against someone who’s running 3 off the top 20 meta Pokémon and I’m not and they got the nerve to penalise me for not beating them😂 I hate the elo system earn something then instantly lose it and repeat😂

I just dumped 230k dust on a shadow gligar (CP1500, 5/12/14) it’s like rank 255/4096 but damn it’s every bit as crazy as the hype suggests. And now I have a good shadow gligar, same thing with my 1500 Talonflame.

Yes! They finally did it! They made it impossible to battle in the GBL. The lag got so bad it's impossible to climb up some ranks, catch a move, throwing moves on time, counting, switching, hitting all the bubbles it all became impossible. It took some battle seasons but they managed to f*** up the game completely. Every season GBL became a bit worse. Chapeau to Niantic 👏, at least the avatars got a huge update.
I myself love 500 cup because it takes a kinda different gameplay... Harder too too take a hit so gotta really think if u can survive without a shield 🛡️ ... I wouldn't want too play it all the time but i do love that it comes around once in awhile...as for gbl period it absolutely sux huge rhino clocks 😮😅so much lag my game crashed 11 times today 8 during pvp today was the worse...i wss defending the game too a point but there's just too much negative now.. avatars i think was ok but because it didn't affect me i put over $20 on it n its the same as was...the events have been ok...these people should complain LESS work on most important issues 1st
Doing one catch cup while having another standard league together is one thing but BOTH leagues being catch cup is just bad decision making by Niantic.

They do all this shit on purpose so not everyone can hit legendary and what not in ranks of you win 5 battles then randomly out of nowhere hard countered hard countered then It still happens then the frame drops or where you have no lag then out of nowhere enter a match with network error the opponent still attacks landing off fast move to where's it already got 2 charge move and your still stuck trying to tap then if freezes. The gbl been outta whack ever since they did the biomes
