- Looking for the best pair of knee pads?
Most knee pads are terrible, so when I finally found a pair that didn't fall down to my ankles, slip off to the side and cause me to bang my knee, or flop around when I walked, I just had to share them.
So, in this video, I share the best knee pads for construction, flooring, handyman services, DIY, gardening, and pretty much everything else work related.
Seriously, don't pay a whole bunch of money for knee pads until you see these inexpensive, but effective knee pads that are comfortable and easy to put on.
The knee pads I recommend are not only the best, they are also the least expensive.
As a pro handyman and avid DIYer, I've used these for all kinds of projects including flooring, plumbing, gardening, installing a flagstone patio, painting, installing baseboards, and even assembling furniture.
The reason I like these knee pads so much is that you can barely notice they are even there.

My big issue is the straps end up hurting the backside of my legs right at the bend
1) Simple, basic foam knee pads w/Velcro strap. 2) KP Industries articulated pads. 3) Custom fit pads by Pro-Knee.
I guess I’m going to get the $250 ones that may seem very expensive but I just spent about 10 hours on my knees today and holy shit
A trick: watch movies at flixzone. Been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Raul Jasiah definitely, I've been watching on Flixzone for months myself :D
the best I like are the volleyball knee pads that slip on. pick up at your local sport store they are awesome
Returning my $49.99 knee pads I bought at Lowes today. They kept falling to my ankle. Getting the cheap ones you recommend. I'm 62 and work in a grocery store and have calluses in knees.
I use a pair of husky gel knee pads. They work great. One strap. No slip. Super comfy. Costed me $40.
I have owned the cheap foam ones for several years now and I totally agree they work well (most jobs) and are a great value. Keep up the good work!!
Excellent no BS video!💪🏾
Bought the foam knee pads to start, and I didn't want to spend too much. They lasted 10 months. I'll forget they are on as I run into a store on way back to shop. Going to buy another pair.
I actually have those exact same black foam knee pads that I bought at the dollar store years ago. I keep them attached to my emergency evacuation bag and I was actually coming here to look for an upgrade. I am a retired handyman. When I used to do flooring jobs like Ceramics or wood floors at the beginning of the day I would tape the knee pad to my pant leg so they never moved. I know how you feel about skinny legs. They used to call me bird legs in school.
Ever try the ArcTeryx LEAF Knee Caps? Have a pair for around the house stuff and hunting. For my use, they work very well.
Thanks for that great video!
I bought the second pair of pads you talk about. The plastic tabs break easily. The rubber on the knee peals off rather quickly.
Great Video Dan!
Thanks John, glad you liked it.
Man, I was sooo ready for yet another $200 solution here...and that def is nowhere near what I want to be buying for my DIY life. Very refreshing to see someone think cost/benefit rather than "these are the best, period".
I need something for welding. I repair railcars and have to weld patches on the decks (floor). You talk about nails but have you ever knelt on to a red hot piece of slag, rust or red hot piece of metal? Or have a piece of hot slag or rust get in between your knee pads and pants? Yeah its not a good time at all. Anyone have any suggestions besides find a new job? Lol
Thanks for the practical overview. I'm pretty sure most people who design and sell knee pads work in offices -- not on job sites ...and the consequences define almost every choice in the marketplace.
Well said. It’s unfortunate there aren’t better options.
1/2"Felt backed thick leather, 1 strap. Used them all my life, they're the best!
Thanks for the tip
I cant find any that stay in place, and my pants get crazy bunched up above and below and behind my knee causing crazy chafing and hair pulling. Drives me nuts
Can you link the knee pads?
Sorry to tell you young man they are the best. They flop around because you need to adjust the strap to fit you. There is a science behind the design. They take all the weight off your knees and transfers it to your shins. You can work in those 12 hours a day and your knees won’t be sore. I’ve had mine for over 25 years and has had 3 pairs. I don’t suggest them for a diy person because they cost $275. But if you do floors for a living like I do there is no other knee pad you would want.
What do you recommend for someone who wants to use them for stocking shelves in a grocery store with a normal store type of floor
Im in this exact situation, did you find any good ones?
Troxell Supersoft Kneepads for the win!
Brennen King right
Hi I represent the Akillis knee pads system. I would like your guidance on how to send our system for your use and review if possible. Thank you, Oscar
Do you have a link?
If you guys want some good knee pads that will last a couple years, good price, stay in place relatively well and look high quality I suggest Troxel knee pads. They are hot. Once you go Troxel you won't go back
Those leather CLC knee pads are the best in my experience. They are only 35$ and they are comfortable, unlike most other knee pads I’ve tried in the past. They don’t fall down, and because they have the leather shell, they only get more comfortable the longer you wear them. It’s what most concrete finishers around here wear.
Are you talking about the second pair he showed?
Lmao wtf dude I do commercial flooring and nothing I mean nothing compares to proknees.
Hell yeah 0714!
Hell yeah - 1247
Thanks god bless
I agree on the volleyball kneepads. Let 'em ride low until you need them, and then pull them up.
After you get use to them, you don't even know that they are there. The also stabilize the knee and prevent ligament issues. Also use kneeling pads from Lowes They are great for under sink plumbing and outdoor work. They keep the water-weather off you.
The best knee pads are clc leather , they don’t slip and you don’t feel like you have them they’re heavy duty and they don’t make your knees sweat
Thank you I was just thinking about to buy the 200 dollar knee pad
What's the name of black pads ?
Lucifer The Fallen Angel it’s called El cheapo
Kneeling on framing screws and other junk is common on large jobsites so to say what are the odds of taking a knee on a screw is ridiculous,
best knee pads were the cheapest brand hardshell at Lowes, 23.99. WHY?
the single most important thing is to have elastic straps on all straps, the lower elastic strap helps keep the knee pad in place working it upwards. some knee pads just have bands for the bottom strap and elastic strap only on the upper strap.
second most important thing, to remember is velcro sucks. really bad.
second best was the square knee pads form the yellowtool company who makes really good moneysworth *brand of cordless tools as well.
when crawling around all day under trailer homes crawlspaces whatnot, tape the heck out of them keep them in place. good ol duck tape, cheap and reliable.
Thanks for the tips!
Try kneelrite.ca buddy. Best pad ever
very good, too the point. the cheapones you can get from dollarama for maybe #$3 CAD
Went to the website to look for the knee pads. All I found was an ad for a book and no mention of knee pads.
At my advanced age, I’m all about finding suitable comfort for my parts. Watching this so many years past the ratification of 1788 reveals the puritan ideals the Alphabet as a blockade to progress and the fundamental practices of science
Recommending 2 out of 3 of the kneepads you threw on the floor in the intro.....👎🏼
Why? Worried theyll break?
*HIM:* I hate these knee pads, but you should buy them.
*ME:* WTF?
Grizzly Country ikr
He even threw the $250 ones. Quit being such a wuss
Handyman.
Stop thinking like handiboi.
Modify your favorite to hard cap.
Balans-
With all respect the foam pads are cheap and nasty and dont last a week in the real world work place, The foam compression at the knee is wafer thin after just two days!! Sorry 🤔🇬🇧👍
I love my proknees, but I use my body to make my living
we wont ask what you mean by that buddy
Dude sounds just like Tosh.o😂😂😂
Those are fruity gel much better
Dude how are you throwing the knee pads over your shoulder one minute then telling us why we should buy them ?
To make the video more interesting.
@@StayHandy okay, I don't know if it's cause im dumb or what but it seemed confusing to me. I guess I was thinking to seriously while I was watching haha
You recommend them and yet you threw’em. 👎
You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Those cheap kneepads are good if you have a 150lb paisley body. Those cheap ones won't do shit for 250lbs guys.
The dewalt are. Garbage
Useless info to say the least. I'd bet this rookie spends LOTS of his time on his knees........probably in the back of the tool trailer!
You are speaking pests
Did you, as a professional, really need to choose to say that you don't want to "f-up" your knees. Act like a professional if you are going to call yourself one.
