    Valuable knee pad comparisons and close detail of features. It's sad and frustrating when we lose function with joints/muscles, so it's absolutely worth whatever we can afford to guard health & range of motion. Very much appreciate your reviews & tutorials.

      You're welcome, and we're pretty good, thanks. With as many turns around the sun, none of our knees were what they once were 😉. Keep well, friends.

    5:00 in defence of Redbacks. They are excellent knee pads and i have had mine for 12 years and they’re still going strong. When you buy work trousers make sure they are the correct leg length for you. I go for the twisted leg made by Snickers. The pads are always in the right position. Leg length. Very important!

    Thank Nick, be good to hear you thoughts on other PPE items, can do a whole series! Ear defenders, goggles and dust masks pretty essential. I’ve got isotunes bluetooth for ears, bolle foam surround for eyes and I use the JSP force 8 dust mask. What do you rate?

    • @blowfeld38
      @blowfeld38  Před 2 lety

      I have the isotunes in ear but don't get on with things in my ear so moved to the prohear ear defender's. I've got the same bolle foam surround safety specs and have a trend half face stealth dust mask and a 3M for VOC's, I like the JSP force 8 too but find the trend fits my face a bit better.
      I will do hearing protection, man do I wish I'd protected my ears from a younger age and not when high sound pressure levels started to actually hurt my inner ear, I think I have troubles ahead now because I thought I was indestructible!
      If you were closer I'd do videos with you! You know your onions amigo, kudos to you!

      @@blowfeld38 100% agree on wishing I’d taken better care of my ears from a younger age, from racing motorbikes to standing in front of massive speaker stacks at raves and clubs for hours on end, to a career in construction. Mild tinnitus is the price I’ve paid.
      For Christmas I got the isotunes free (over ear) cans having had the in ear ones for a couple of years. Getting on well with them so far.
      Bought myself a trend stealth recently but haven’t tried it yet.
      Keep up the good work with the videos mate, if you’re ever on the south coast I’d love to collaborate. I’ll even wear my Mafell hoodie 😉.

    Used red backs for the past 3 years, good but not particularly comfy. Completely agree about them being too small.
    Best set of knee pads I’ve had were dual density foam ones from Englebert Strauss, just looked but doesn’t look like they still sell them. Been looking at a few options as I need to replace my current red backs. Some very expensive ones out there 😳

      The fentos are really pricey and look like they'll compress really quickly, I had some great feedback from tilers community on these snickers bean bags, my first impressions are they are pretty awesome, maybe check them out and let me know dude!
      Ps. I found the Werner website and checked all the totes that fit on the steps, pretty awesome stuff, thank you for the heads up mate 👍

      Never compromise on leg length of your trousers. I’ve worn my red backs for 12 years and counting. Once I wore trousers too long and the pads weren’t in the correct position.

  • @snoovin

    I've found with the Alpros you have to put the strap right round the front of the pad. Then they don't fall down.
