doing hvac installs this is huge, its both the comfort benefits of kneepads with the movement capabilities of not wearing any
Just realized I put my pads in backwards. No wonder they are so hot. Didn’t put the hex side towards the knee to keep it breathable
I love kneepads in my double fronts, it's all I wear now! I wish you went into the sizing options that they offer for the kneepads
The one thing every review seems to miss. Carhartt seems clueless.
Mine seem to fall out when I’m walking or they peek out. Is there a solution to this?
Would you think the 'hex side' would be better closer to your skin and the flat part towards the ground. I would think it would aid in keeping air between the pad and you keeping the skin cooler?
Hey Steve! That's actually how they work! The yellow side is facing your knees and the back side is facing outward toward the ground. :)

Based on how you had to install them into the pants I'm curious as to how you would get them to put them in a different pair. 🤔
I wear a 36" waist in Carhartt pants, and the medium knee pads are recommended for that waist size. I purchased the large based on Amazon reviews, and am glad I did as they completely fill the knee pockets, and don't slide around. Several Amazon reviewers suggest just buying the large knee pads, and trimming to fit if necessary, and I think I might concur. Some reviewers said the knee pads weren't under their knees when they went to kneel. I don't have this problem at all, so all I have to say to that is pull up your pants, these are construction pants, not ghetto pants.
Great Idea and a lot of other brands have the same pants pocket in the knees for this type of pad. However, $40 for a pair what? I understand Carhartt is a top-quality brand but me is thinken they may be a little too proud of those knee pads for $40.
How do you roll them up to get them out?

@@desfalon8768 if you say so, however it’s another alternative at a much cheaper price of $50 with a tool bag at your fingertips on your knees or standing. This is a new category of knee pads.
No binding, sweat or need to readjust order less in nature.

So I’ve been buying the double sided pants for a while for sheer durability but am now interested in the tiny hole in the front. I see how you get the pads in... how are they removed? Do they ever need to be removed?
I was scratching my head over this for weeks! Like what they forgot to stitch it?! Bad advertising on carhearts part but excellent and amazing innovation. I’m buying two sets now.

You can leave them in. No idea if it decreases their lifetime but they absolutely won't fail you the first time you wash them.
How about dryer?
These are Great because in stead of wearing out your Cheap Knee pads all the time You just wear out Your Expensive Double Knee Carhartt Pants. Just Buy good Kneepads like Recoil,ProKnee or JP Industries.
Agreed. Why ruin 70$ pants? The California marketing team at carhartt needs to rehire blue collar product testers not soy boys who wear overalls to buy a latte.
Well for people like me who are going to ruin the pants anyways. We’re already getting down on our knee to do a project or working on the boat. I can’t wear bulky knee pads or any kind of knee pad at all. It could get caught on something and cost me my life if I get hung up in a wire. So these are perfect because they can’t get caught on anything and I don’t have to worry about it. Just pop it in and go about my day as normal. These are awesome for people who actually need them. Now if my life didn’t depend on them being unsnagable, I’d just get harbor freight knee pads

@@gomango_6.468 I know that is true when I was in some terrains on active duty until the Marine Corps had designed and adapted a extremely well engineered knee and elbow pad set that attached in the back and did not easily get caught on stuff because We were wearing out the elbows and knees of Our Uniforms to much and early Army type knee pads were junk. But for the small percentage of people that do work like You do, having to put up with the cost of wearing out pants but at least the modest protection of internal knee pads is certainly an option.
Ima pipe fitter and some guys have these in their bibs we wear and all their knees are blown out the double knee and the pads show thru lol I just use knee pads and swap them after but would be awesome if they did not ruin the pants after a while

Any reason that these would not work in the Carhartt Bibs? I ask because you were very specific about these ONLY working in the Carhartt pants.
They work also with the bibs. You see the hole at your knees✌🏽

Are there coveralls with this option? I switched to coveralls a year ago and Im never going back to jeans and a belt as a working man.
Pretty sure Roundhouse bib overalls have pad spaces.
Those are a great idea in concept but I wouldn't use them for the fact of trying to take them out of the pants.
Maybe a velcro or button opening on the top instead of the bottom and have a bigger opening for ease of removal?
I thought the same, but then today I realized a top opening would collect dirt, debris and wood chips.
@@ek1557 good point! Perhaps a zipper or snap on buttons but having the top overlapping?
It's more like a shin guard than a knee pad, they don't stay in the proper place. Instead, they drop down to the shin area.
There should be a sleeve or something that the pad inserts in to keep it from dropping during movement.
No, you just need to learn how to buy proper fitting pants

Just the pants are SO overpriced! $50? And then the kneepads are $40? Essentially you're buying $90 full leg kneepads. And if you need multiple pairs, it just adds up. Stupid. I'd rather get a few $20 Dickies and $20 gel knee pads that I can switch between them. Idk what rich peoples houses you're working on, man, but you're definitely getting enough dough to suggest this stuff. Congrats, I suppose.

You shouldn't make a 'stupid' comment about Carhartt. My husband used to buy Dickies and Tough Duck - used to. Carhartt last much longer as they are much more durable. So, if you AREN'T rich, it makes far more financial sense to buy Carhartt. As for the knee pads, to each their own.

Well, that's not "genius" or economical. Not many will buy expensive pants to slip foam in the pant's knees then afterward ruin the pants? The point of the knee pad is to protect the knee AND the pant in my view. I believe Carhartt is trying to pull a fast one here by killing two birds with one stone :) Thank you for the review.
Incorrect. Knee pads are to pad your knee. That's why they're called knee pads and not pants protectors.
The "not many will buy them" argument doesn't really fly either, as loads of people buy these with absolutely no intention of putting in knee pads anyway. A double-front pant is inherently a tougher pant and a necessity in a lot of work.

Some People will defend a bad idea because of loyalty to a brand. Its a bad idea for the buyer great repeat business idea for carhartt
