I rekon Kenny would have loved living in the future of 2021..He was a mile ahead of his time...I never went out until I'd watched this show..especially his 81 new years eve show...
I was born in 1981, Kenny doing Rod Stewart has always been one of my favourite clips. I had never seen him as Milton Keynes, currently crying with laughter in 2024 at the glasses getting bigger and bigger. Genius. The world needs more silly.
I used to rush home from work when I was living in Australia to see this on TV. Wouldn't have missed it for anything. Great show with soo much talent every week. Kenny died too young.
Kenny was a fantastic guy who's mind constantly raced at a million miles per sec, he was a true genius and is greatly missed, I watched all his shows as a little un as he started when I was 3 in 78 and ran throughout the early to the late eighties .
You are a year older than me. I too remember watching this programme as a little un' as my parents loved it. The episode I remember best is the one with Rod Stewart's ass blowing up "Do you think I'm sexy?" whenever that was.
I loved this man he was brilliant I grew up watching him all summer when I lived in England. I'd call up my friend ci Clifford Ebrey on the phone and talk about Kenny Everette And laugh all the time I miss my friend and Kenny Everette We talk on the phone for your about the skirts we saw on Kenny Everette i cried my eyes out when I heard he died of A,I,D,S I lost my idle and a great childhood friend who made me laugh Everyone is going APESHIT over Carona but it's nothing compared to A,I,DS I lost a lot of my friend s to that dredfull Disease Kenny Everette helped me come to terms with being gay As a kid I felt alone in a straight world but Kenny Everette gave humour to my life and I never told Ebrey I was gay he never knew I loved him like a brother I never thought about telling him Kenny Everette was my ultimate hero and Clifford Ebrey I miss him big time RIP Kenny Everette love you Clifford Ebrey
Wow!! I had a bit of a thing for Kate Bush back then. I think "besotted" is the word. LOL!! I was only 10 years old though. As for Kenny the man was a genius. Irreplaceable!!
RetroCool, Thanks for this look at the Kenny Everett Video Show with special appearance by saviour of the universe Captain Kremmen and scandalous 'naughty bits'!
I remember having to take part in a Junior school play just after watching an episode of This brilliant show. I don’t think I said my lines clearly because I couldn’t stop laughing my little head off.
Hard to believe that before she gained recognition as a classical singer with an outstanding vocal range - Sarah Brightman danced in pink on Kenny’s show and many others.
Yep, she was in Hot Gossip. Their choreographer was Arlene Philips who was one of the original judges on Strictly Come Dancing. And don't forget about Sarah singing I Lost My Heart to A Starship Trooper.
The naughty innocence, or innocent naughtiness of Kenny and his sketches, a very multicultural Hot Gossip, Darts, Kate Bush, Elton John, Lindisfarne and that other band 🤷♂️ What's not to like about this?! Great memories of my childhood, major thanks to the uploader 😉👌🏽
We and our mates couldn't wait for school to be over so we could go home and watch the Kenny Everett video show. We used to piss ourselves laughing. Probably only 12 or 13 at the time.
God bless Ken. And even the adverts were better in those days. Before all this demented woke bollocks that currently plagues TV. Great to see the lovely Marti Caine too.
This show was on when i was in 5th yr (last year) of school. OMG I wish could go back there, i have no idea what i would change though. Over 40yrs ago, where did the time go??
Today is the 25th of December, 2022 It would have been Kenny Everett's 78th birthday. If he had been alive in 2020... ...Just imagine the Lock-down Livestreams he would've done!
As soon as The Kenny Everett Naughty Video Show, started in NZ, it was top of the hits with my freinds & me - mum & dad watched it a couple of times, & decided it was on "to late, for us".
Gosh i remember Yellow Dog They came from america But they were unknown in America never recorded one song in America I knew they were from the american the first time i saw them was on top ofthe pops They did a song called Just one more night They were zany and awesome But actually unknown in America they came from america To have a singing career in England and they hit it big There. But as i said before Nobody heard of them in America i asked my friends In America at that time 1977 And nobody heard of yellow dog It was ashame because Yellow Dog was a great band
They could have been big in America if only people had got to hear their zany and awesome music, but no one ever heard it there so they remain tragically unknown there. They could have changed the face of American music forever, but sadly it was not to be.
Yea Bring Back the late 70s- 80s when most girls were Slim n hot with a mind of their own and a non Pc attitude. Kenny Everett and even better Benny Hill was the Best, and Women were Real .
Early 1979. There were a lot of strikes but, even taking that into account, life was so much nicer in those days. There wasn't the division, social and sexual lunacy and environmental fear that pervades current society. People didn't walk around with their noses stuck in smartphones either. When I say smartphonrs, I mean stupidphones, of course.
That is such a load of bull! "Life was nicer" for whom exactly? No division? No protests about racism and sexism back then, eh? The National Front was on the rise, with 1000s of members. They marched through Southall, an Asian area of London, just to stir up trouble. And they did! The Police should never have allowed it. But one of them (The Police) is responisble for the death of an anti-nazi protestor at that march called Blair Peach. Look him up. It's never been solved. That was just one of the many nasty events of 1979. I'm guessing you don't recall the winter of discontent either? Millenial perhaps?
Cerrone - Supernature can be played via Spotify. Which I find awesome. I find the lack of Kenny Everett on Spotify a woeful lack of respect for a radio legend that has left us with the non-funny shock jock from the 80's and 21st Century.
@@ebneigh5191 Do you mean the Thames Television ident? Or the incidental jingle music played over the introduction? If the show recordings exist they're kept under seal with in a refrigerated vault. A bit like Walt but with far more life and comedy potential.
Great American Soups was a sub-brand of Heinz soups, that was launched in response to Campbell's recently-launched "The Manhandlers" sub-branding of heartier soups. The sub-brandings are long-defunct, but some of their soups still exist as part of the regular Heinz and Campbell's lines. This commercial was such a huge production that TV Guide did a "Making of" feature on it. Freberg wanted to take the mickey out of commercials that used overblown production numbers to hype mundane products, so he decided to make this soup commercial the mother of all overblown production numbers. It was shot in an MGM soundstage, and Freberg got in trouble when they found out he'd had a hole cut in the floor for the soup can to rise from.

i watched this back then..... looking back it's kind of lame. the musical acts in this show were B rate apart from Kate Bush who sang one of her crappier songs coz it was current. script writing was poor, and even the brief appearance of Sid Snot was yawnable... makes me wonder what i seen in it back then.... fortunately later episodes improved and it became watchable. Kenny also found the button marked X.... the exact opposite of Red Dwarf where the first episodes were legendary and the later runs were rehashed rubbish.
Makes me want these days back so much.

Wish granted. You’ve got them back, right here!
I’ll have them back if I could stay at age 10 forever! 😁
Me too
Yes I agree Kenny was wack y and very funny comedy these days is not the same. Catherine Smyth 👍
That version of the man with the child in his eyes is so beautiful

6:50. Kate Bush is just so lovely. She used to make me melt - still does.
Absolutely!-such a lovely woman
Kenny Everett was a comedy legend. I loved Captain Kremmen, brilliant and the Sid Snot character, so much talent, which will never be matched.
Kenny was a genius! One of a kind.
Kenny Everette
I miss you RIP

@Tonan Moahawke i miss u Jay lane
Amazing how the adverts from those days are better than todays programs.
I noticed those. One of them featured Arthur Lowe (Dad's Army) - those truly were the days !
Yes. He was a great comedic talent. Although it is a shame Kenny is no longer with us, at least his work lives on.
This was all so silly and that made it genius. I loved this show and it's great to see it again.

Blast from the past. Takes me right back to my childhood. Brilliant.
What's great about the Thames years, is there's no audience its the crew laughing
I prefer the Thames shows - I felt the show lost something when he moved to the BBC even though he introduced some classic characters there.
I love Kate Bush still. Not only was her appearance a surprise but she sang my favourite song. I waited until it ended before I wrote this...
Good to see the ads left in... St Ivel 5 pints..
Milton Keynes .. I'd forgotten that one 😂😂
This was before Toto Cleo
The ads are my favorite part, so charming!
I remember these like they were 'not all that long ago.' Way ahead of his time.

the way comedy used to be. We need to see lots more
Nice. It was nice to see the commercials too.
Lovely surprise seeing Kate Bush here.
Loved him on Capital 194, even better on TV. Miss those pre woke days
I was way too young for this when it was out, but I'm old enough now 😃

What a brilliant decade, I wish I could go back there.
Gotta love when VHS machines came out, you could program them to tape his late night shows then watch then after school.
I remember having to take part in a Junior school play just after watching an episode of This brilliant show. I don’t think I said my lines clearly because I couldn’t stop laughing my little head off.
Thank you so much for letting us share your vhs recording ( even the jumping was nostalgic lol) . Thoroughly enjoyed it all 👌🤩🙏.
kate bush was so hot back then
Its a great show, its wacky and wild and fun.

made a huge impression on me... boy from the Aussie bush growing up watching the imperious and unmatched comedy on the BBC

The good old days when everything wasn’t crap.

13:00 Arthur Lowe! (Capt. Mainwaring--"Dad's Army").
And comedian Marti Caine in the Limit digital watch advert too.
Had he been alive today, I could see him being really popular as a youtuber
The best comedy in the 80s was UK comedy, that simple!
This what Cool looks like.
Brilliant stuff M8....do you have any more episodes from Thames series 1....?
OMG st ivel 5 pints we used to have that when i was a kid, it wasn't to bad, also we used to get real milk in a plastic bag as it was cheaper
Phwoooooooaaarrrr Kate Bush 💪
Nothing good lasts forever.
Classic Kenny
A very funny nice guy
"The soup that's good enough to eat"? I rather hope so. Unless that's the reason they're no longer in business...

More exciting than Ted Heath? That'll not be a challenge. Classic 70s telly.
Came on after SNL
What's with the left channel during the Kate Bush song?
All the advertising at about 13 : 00 - was that meant to make us nostalgic ?
Does anyone remember the opening episode where the SAS busts in on him?
Was that not the Young ones? They all get shot.
Was that Marti Caine in the watch advert?
Yes it was Marti Caine
Arrrrrrgh I miss the seventies
26:04 anyone have the name of this Disco track? Don't remember it at all.
Floyd's Theme by Natural Juices
Dean Vaz
Many thanks sir. Have a good one.
Do you know of the origins of natural juices? Are they still playing?

BA Robinson at 33.00? 1979
That limit international watch in the advert looks horrible, what a piece of ....
Kate Bush not on the recent DVD release.
I used to laugh until I hurt at King Kenny, I liked his video cassette shows more though. The characters were brilliant and so funny.

He was copied and influenced Keith Lemon and Tizwas........but you can't beat the real thing!
Wow. We never heard of this here in America. This was pretty funny. Sad to find out he was gay.
Why?
Didnt make him any less funny or valued as a human
Better with no audience, canned laughter is awful
