No Missouri :(
As an Ole miss fan I agree with your statement on us not being happy with just making the playoffs. Yes I would be happy that we made it but I would want to see them make a deep run in to the playoffs to actually be happy with it.
Absolutely, ole miss would have a made a 12 team playoff 2 out of the last 3 seasons, so we already know they are capable of making it. But this is supposed to be the best team ole miss has had in a very long time. The expectation is to win playoff games this year
Not a fan of them myself, but everything is lining good for Ole Miss this year to make they playoffs. They have the best team they have had in forever, and they have the easiest schedule too. Only 2 landmines for an SEC team is as good as it will get. I think they drop a game to Georgia and LSU, but that should be plenty good enough to make the playoffs
I like giving power conference winners a 1st round bye, it makes winning your conf still mean something. This is hard to do when 12 (14+ coming) teams make the playoffs and conference have 18+ teams. Winning the B10 or SEC itself is a huge accomplishment after the realignments.
Sure, winning the B12 or ACC is nowhere near as tough as the other 2, and that needs to be looked at. But the way things are headed, there are going to be only 2 power conferences left, and I'd argue we're already there.
That's not even close to being true right now even though the B10 and SEC make more money. Starting this year Big 12 teams will each take home about $52 million (before payments for the settlement); The ACC teams will each take home about $39 million (again before settlement). The highest paid G5 conference will make about $10-12 million to split between it's members. The biggest dropoff in revenue, by far, is between the ACC and the G5 leagues. The ACC and to a slightly lesser extent Big 12 will be at a financial disadvantage with the B10/SEC, but they will still be able to comfortably fund football, pay players, and have nice facilities. The G5 schools will be making 1/40th what Big 12 schools make and will likely have to stop trying to compete. That may not seem like a big deal now, but in a few years when that mass of fans (and altogether it's a major part of today's CFB fan base) tunes out it will leave a hole in the ratings. The greedy people who have taken CFB in this direction don't seem to know or care that they are destroying CFB as we know it, and the damage is likely to be permanent.
@@billsimpson6136 think u replied to the wrong comment. I didn't say anything about money
What if Miami has to go to Salt Lake in December. Elevation and cold.
Plus as a Duck fan I can tell you that Whittingham owns Cristobal.
Florida people body slow down like the iguanas in cold weather
Yeah they can have that game too cold for us
You get a like cause you got an audible chuckle outta me. Should do stand-up
It's no different than USC, UCLA, or Oregon having to go to Michigan/Minnesota/Illinois/Indiana in December. The whole thing is messed up and doesn't improve anyone's situation except the rich white men at the networks and the conference commissioners.
Coach Klieman is already the second best coach in Kstate history. So he’s already highly thought of. Making the playoff would put him on par with Snyder. Had there been a playoff in the last 25 some years, Kstate would’ve been in it 5-7 times, it’s just not remembered by CFB fans. Winning a CFP game and maybe multiple, and several years in a row, would put klieman above snyder in accomplishments. But it’s hard to compare seeing where Snyder started from and where klieman started from.
Youre saying that like it's something. Klienman is only the 2nd coach in like the past century since Snyder coached there forever. I'm just saying that doesnt mean much to be second best coach ever for your school when your school was a complete DUMPSTER fire until Snyder, and then Snyder was the HC pretty much ever since until now. I would not whatsoever label Klieman at Snyder level just because he makes one playoff that takes 12 teams. He's going to have to have a lot more success than that. Snyder had plenty of years of more success than just making top 12 (or 16 starting in 2025).
@@cameronmiller7980 Idk what I said you’re going off about being you just said the same thing I said but aggressively. Snyder started in 1989, had a 4 year break which was ass, then came back until 2019 when klieman came in. It is significant that Klieman is second because there were in fact great historical Kstate teams such as those coached under Mike Ahearn, who still has the best winning percentage of any coach including Snyder. There were several coaches who had gone to the CFB halls of fame as well. Snyder is obvious, and yes is the most successful, but there was in fact previously great coaches. Just few 😂.
Snyders teams in the 90’s and 2000’s got absolutely fucked when it comes to post season opportunities due to shit early BCS rules and biased BCS bowl committees choosing less deserving teams. Kstate was left out of BCS bowls multiple times as top 10 teams from 1998-2002. Once as #3, #6, #9, (2001 was a bad year), #8. Finally Kstate got a BCS bowl invite in 2003, ironically the lowest ranking during that period of #10.
That USC schedule is low-key really difficult. Start off against LSU, 3 weeks later go on the road to the defending champs. Penn State at home a few weeks after that. At Washington in early November then Notre Dame to end the season. Wow
Go 10-2 and they make the playoff probably.
can we take a moment to appreciate the amazing mustache of the guy in the background at 7:14
FCS teams have had to travel to South Dakota in December to play South Dakota State. It is tough. Winter weather in Utah is milder than South Dakota usually.
Thoughts on Louisville making their first appearance?
No thoughts on nonexistence
Everything is lining good for Ole Miss this year to make they playoffs. They have the best team they have had in forever, and they have the easiest schedule too. Only 2 landmines for an SEC team is as good as it will get. I think they drop a game to Georgia and LSU, but that should be plenty good enough to make the playoffs
They'll beat LSU
I think they'll lose to Oklahoma. lol.
In 5 years Chattanooga will be in the playoffs because the sport will have a 120-team playoff.
Dummy Chattanooga made the playoffs last year. At the FCS level because they can’t compete with the big boys. The G5 should have their own playoff too
Go mocs lol
Happy first year
Missouri?
#12 seed fans “we made the playoff!” Nah the playoff made you lol
Whata great comment 😂 😂 😂 deserves the top spot for sure
First round bye’s in Big 10 country and high altitude like Colorado and Utah in December easily gives them a massive edge.
Nebraska might shock the world this year because we now have a good quarterback and our defense is top notch
Making the playoff for the 1st time will be great for any team. Every win after that will just make the season better
If Ole Miss doesn’t make it to round 3 in the playoffs I will be disappointed as a fan. They have an absolute power house this season. We may not ever see a roster quite like this. Hopefully I’m wrong.
As a mizzou fan I feel the same about my team something special in Oxford and Columbia
This is a powerhouse by Ole Miss standards, but not by Georgia/Alabama/Ohio State/Michigan standards. There have been a couple of Ole Miss teams lately that had great rosters (by Ole Miss standards) and most of them have ended up being ranked early only to lose games late and end the season with a thud losing a minor bowl game. The way it's setup going forward it will be the same 4 or 5 schools advancing in the playoff every year.
One good question is, would making it to a semifinal in the new system be the equivalent of making it to the playoff in the old system? Sorry if this was answered in another video.
Klieman already is the 2nd best coach in the history of K-State, so, if he makes the Playoff, he is firmly #2. I don’t think he can pass Bill, Bill literally saved the program, but, Klieman is obviously #2, and it isn’t close.
Also NC State
As an ole miss fan, Making the playoff would be great. Losing in the first round would be unacceptable with this talent. Overall would be happy with making playoff. Talent should take the team further.
Let’s go canes 🙌
Go Cats 🇺🇸
The B12 winner would get a bye not a home playoff game.
So usc ? In the big 10. How many bids does the conference get? Or does that matter anymore? I don't see them being top 3 in that conference. If they make it in, I'd assume 9-12 spot. Could they get in with 2 losses?
GO CANES 💰👞🌴😎🙌🏼
i would say miami just making it would be successful for that program. not so sure about ole miss. i know penn state fans would be happy, but they would absolutely expect progression year over year as well, since this year is almost like a ceremony for their first cfp appearance so long as they handle business. i feel like utah wouldn't care much, they've been around the big dogs for a long, long time.
Talk about a G5 first time CFP team...
Go canes!
Going straight to 4th in the ACC
I want to see LSU USC and see which school has a better defense, if USC could hold LSU down that would be entertaining
Has USC held anyone down in recent memory? I'm not seeing that happen at LSU who has the best OL with Texas in the country and loaded at WR.
And these issues you bring up is exactly why it should be 10 conferences, 10 conference champs, 10 team playoff. It would fix a ton of issues
Could have been fine with the 7 conferences and 5 at large invites.
@@davidmorrison5186 every other level of football from High School to NAIA to D3, D2, FCS, and NFL understand that it's not a true champion if you can win your conference and not be eligible for the title. Make every conference a guaranteed bid, eliminate auto bids and boom, lots of problems solved
No, thank you.
Tell that to the conference commissioners and television executives 😂
New CFP teams imo: Penn State, Kansas State, Ole Miss, Memphis (G5 bid), & NC State. I would say Miami but I just don’t trust them & nc State has an easy schedule for the most part. I could see ncsu playing fsu for the ACC title & potentially winning.
Geez. K state could,go 12-0 with that schedule.
Talking up ole Miss, which they definitely deserve, while leaving Missouri out of the conversation completely, is just assinine.
As an Utah fan, there is no SEC team that could come into Salt Lake, at altitude, in below freezing temperatures, in the snow mid December and win. Especially only on a week or two max of preparation
LOL
Lil ahh stadium
Delusional
If it helps you sleep at night lol…
RTR
If their entire team stayed healthy
Can’t flip a defense around in a year. Minimum 2. Takes a year to get it installed and change the mindset. Then need players to perform the system implemented. USC offense needs to help its defense sometimes and not go at Mach speed all the time. Run the ball. Control the LOS and ball. A tired defense is never a good thing.
I don't think there is that much *hate* for Miami, but the problem is you talk about them 12+ times an episode while barely even mentioning SEVERAL teams with identical 9.5 game odds as Miami... In tougher conferences no less.
I wrote it off early as people being dramatic, but it's to the point that every 3rd clip of the episode has Miami mentioned, all while Penn State, Tennessee, Oklahoma, etc all get mentioned maybe once every 2 full episodes and 25 clips. It has started seeming like Miami it cutting a check, even though sure their situation is interesting and I agree worth mentioning even regularly - just not quite as much.
Is it a tool for engagement to over-talk about a team that basically no one finds relevant and they *might* have a good year?
Hang on. Utah wouldn’t host a playoff game at home as a conference champ unless they were ranked lower than the G5 champ. If Utah gets a first round bye, they’ll be at a bowl game vs whoever in the QFs
For Ole Miss its a bust if they don't make the final 4
OSU,Oregon,USC teams in playoff PennState will miss playoff
SEC will put UGA, OleMiss,Texas,Alabama,Missouri playoff teams
ACC playoffs teams Miami and Clemson in
Big12 Kansas State and Utah
Notre dame is In the playoffs no group of five team in playoff first year
Miami will make final four in playoffs
No one knows. New coaches, new schedules, new conferences, new rules (or lack of), and new playoffs.
Every year, the media hypes up Miami. And every year, they choke. Mario Cristobal is a terrible coach.
Yep as a Miami fan I know Mario gonna lose us 2 games off just dumb shit
Cristobal is a great O-line coach/recruiter, but that is his ceiling.
@@tjstakes167 All he has to do is hire a coach who can count to 40 and tell him "time to take a knee"... and listen.
Miami has not been spending money and bringing in talent like they are now from 2005 to 2020 we land 5 five star players and in the last 2 classes we had 5 its different since the Kirk Herbstreit report came out
@@Nonyabizzness305Miami is where 5 stars go to die
Ole Miss says NO
UCF will win the big 12 this year and make it into the playoffs. Watch out! Coach Gus Malzhan is a really good big game coach. Colorado should have stayed in the Pac 12.
Lol stop playin
@@cameronmiller7980 I don’t play. I quit at school because of recess.
The first time an sec team loses up north it’ll go to neutral site games just wait
keep counting out mizzou. they’re gonna shock people
9-3 maybe 8-4 this year…go sit down somewhere
@@lilkiltz2007with their schedule? Try 11-1
no mention of USF, UCF, or Memphis who could probably beat all these teams with ease.....
You need to stop smoking crack rock.
What are you talking about LMAO
Y’all really think MIAMI??? will make the playoff??
I've already put money on it. So can we just mention the most underrated team and coach in college football. Very good program. (Oklahoma State)
8 teams will get a participation trophy. One of the top 4 will win it…..again.
A team like Ole Miss... Getting into the playoff... They'd get a golf clap from me for sure. No matter how good they were during the 4-team playoff era they couldn't get it done. And now they can just have it handed to them for free if they can just perform on that same; couldn't make the playoff but fairly decent, level that they've performed at under Lane Kiffen in past. I'll give them a golf clap and say, "Here's your cookie. Now munch on it real slowly cause you are only getting one." Ha ha ha.
Penn State will make the playoff, maybe win a game, and lose in the quarterfinals. Every year.
As long as James Franklin is head coach, could see this being a reality.
if utah wins the big 12 they wont host a game
As soon as USC gets rid of that fraud Lincoln Riley and gets a real coach, they'll start making the playoff consistently.
Sec teams in the cold is going to expose sec teams
Sure buddy
This is always a hilarious take to me.
USC will be a playoff team
And get curb stomped no matter who they play. To small and no defense. But they won't finish top 4 in the big ten
USC will be a playoff team
But not this year…. Hope I’m wrong though
Imagine betting on Miami to make the playoffs
I would, except they are favored to do so and the return is quite low.
Honestly if someone wants to give vegas free money im not gonna stop them
How well do your NCAA brackets do? I'll just wait and see how it all works out.
Miami fans only exist on the internet! I watch games stadium is half empty. One of the worst college atmospheres out there. 🤣
I mean there’s a lot of other things to do in Miami than watching a college football game. It’s the same problem with USC. If it’s not a big game, no one will show up.
@@georgelucas2571 Exactly! College football just isn’t a draw in that area. Florida and FSU fill there stadiums have electric atmospheres. I guess not as much going on around them. USC is Miami west.
Miami will not make the cfp playoff did you forget there are other teams in the acc they have to actually play
Miami won’t make the playoffs. Only the ACC Champions will be given placement in the playoffs. Miami will lose 5 games and not play in the ACC championship game.
Everybody gets a participation trophy.
College football is really starting to suck.
There is still only one National Champion right?
Ole Miss says NO
