Great video! Chris if its possible you should do a series of teaching your friends calisthenics skills I think its extremely instructive when you are teaching someone else how to do the move because people get the chance to figure out what they are doing wrong and pick up on their own mistakes, Even for me in this video it helped my 90 degree hold a ton I realized my elbows were not tucked in enough and I wasn't leaning far enough forward
literally 90 degree hold is my biggest goal rn, i can hold it for about 1 second and working towards mastering it! I hope this video will help me as i've found it pretty hard to work towards it but i know it will unlock so much more strength and opportunity!
@@erikb6703thanks for sharing to help those of us still working towards ours! 2 questions if you would be so kind to answer: How often did you train it per week Did you start doing pseudo-planche push ups after reaching 20 push ups in a row or..?
@@homosapien6031 well I've just done 2 sets 2 times a week. Very minimalist. Always measure the distance between my hands and the wall and keep my head grazing the wall. When I reach 2 sets of 10 reps I increase the distance. I started at around 25 max push ups, at around 65 kg bodyweight. Almost certainly not the optimal routine but very simple and easy. 🤷
@@erikb6703 Thanks! Hey, if you worry about optimal too much, you run the risk of not getting anything done. But by putting in consistent effort (even maybe not 100% optimal lol) you accomplished something that is pretty difficult to do! And now through your experience you can and have helped at least one other person! Tysm!
Dude this is awesome, honestly the best and most doable approach I've seen to doing this. And seeing you be so excited for your friend got me hyped! Genuine alpha energy raising people up haha.
I'm 16 and just started getting into calisthenics cause im pretty skinny and your videos helped a ton man!! Can't wait to start training for this and the elbow lever so I can finally start doing skills!!!
This is really motivating and showing all the true difficulty of these skills. Awesome idea with training with someone, I would be pleased to see another videos with like front lever , back lever, handstand , planche, 90 hspu. :)
I thought I was much further from the 90 degree hold than what I actually am. Thankyou Chris, brought me into calisthenics and the entire gym community aswell and you're still helping me throughout the entire process
Hey Chris I wanted to thank you so much man for changing my life I was overweight for most for most of my life but a year and a half ago I watched a warming up video for you and started to follow along and step by step I started to watch and follow more videos I went from 138kg to 88 kg now and built a very good physique thanks to you and your family and team in thinx Live you man and if you can gift me a weight vest to continue my progress that would be fantastic thanks again man And keep up the good work 💯
Never been one of the first before to comment! This was really helpful, I've been working on this move for the past few weeks and the training is intense but the gains are coming on 🔥🔥
No wonder why you are close to 5 mln subscribers - professional, clear tutorial without any unnecessary stuff. I'll try to do it myself, keep your fingers crossed 😎
i remember starting with Heria's progressions, one at a time and being frustrated because I was able to do everything BUT the actual 90 degree hold. Then one day, out of nowhere and to my surprise, I was doing it and it felt easy. I honestly couldn't believe how easy it felt for how difficult it had seemed when i first began with the early progressions.
Chris you should make a follow along shoulder warmup routine. I love calisthenics and would hate to get injured, but I don't know the best way to warm up before practicing skills that put a lot of pressure on my shoulders
This is a really cool video. You should do more of those! Thank you in any case! Edit: I kept wondering why I thought Chris' shirt was weird. I figured it out. His shirt isn't weird, I'm just not use to seeing him with one on 😂😂😂😂 Also, it's cute to see how excited Chris gets when his friend gets it.
I didn’t know it was that easy I watched this video and did a 90 degree hold right after Hahahah thank you Chris your a beast that’s big motivation I needed that right now
always warmup your wrists before practicing 90 degree hold! 2 years ago i used to practice this everyday without ever warming up and eventually tore my ligament without unlocking the move . havent been able to do normal pushups without a wrist band ever since(my ligament tear kept getting worse because i didnt take resting seriously)

Hi Chris heria iam 16 year old from India and iam training calisthenics by watching your videos and Iam getting some progress thank you very much for that and keep doing this
The scared cat posture with the back transformed this move for me. Made pseudo planche push ups feel better. Before that I definitely had my back arched instead of rounder and the movement never felt right
Thumbnail looking like the 1800's ☠☠
LMAO😂
Omg 😂😂
I was legit so excited when I learned how to do this hold. It just feels like you're leveled up in life!!!
Same here , it's a very interesting skill to learn ,love doing it everyday 😉
its like hitting 100kg/225lb for the first time but like in calisthenics version
@@dyplomydilol5439 😳👍👍
I know right its my birthday present to myself
I felt the same way when I tried it

defenetly yep
Definitely ,It will be very helpful
Agreed!! And fun to watch too
Almost all calisthenics exercises seem impossible at first, but as you keep training hard you start to see how attainable the skills really are.
A lot of them are not at all for a very long time
Bro I learned front lever in 9 months and now Im wondering why it was so hard at the start :D, so everything is possible with consistency
literally 90 degree hold is my biggest goal rn, i can hold it for about 1 second and working towards mastering it! I hope this video will help me as i've found it pretty hard to work towards it but i know it will unlock so much more strength and opportunity!
Man, 90 degree hold has been my goal for a while now and I thought I was far away. But with your form cues, I did my first hold today!! 🙏
how long it took bro
@@slimezombi about 6 months of doing pseudo planche pushups as my main chest exercise. But never anything specific to 90 degree hold
