As someone who has been in the medical profession for nearly two decades, Dr. Berry is honest and refreshing. Modern healthcare, in hospitals especially, has a rack 'em and stack 'em mentality. Gone are the days of honest and beneficial patient and family health education.

I had a doctor tell me "you ask too many questions" "I think you should look for a new doctor!" THEY DO NOT CARE!

I am a physician. For the first time ever, my cholesterol level came back "high". All my lab tests have always been normal, and the rest are still normal. My family doc wanted to treat me... I refused and promised to recheck in 3 months to keep him happy. I haven't gone back to recheck.

I went to my 6 months exam last Tuesday, the nurse called me yesterday with the results. She said that my LDL level needs attention, so I asked her how bad it is and she said that it is elevated.I finally got her to tell me how much and she said around 115. Lipitor was about to kill me several years ago and I quit taking it,and I’m not going to get back on it.

All my wife’s markers are inline, she’s not obese, blood pressure is spectacular but LDL is slightly elevated. She cried when the doctor called to inform her that the she was calling in a prescription and to pick it up ASAP. Not a single discussion about diet changes. The stress I seen in my wife’s face was more damaging than the cholesterol.

Becoming a doctor is hard work, but you don't need to be smart. Fortunately, my doctors never mention cholesterol and they recommend low carb.

Statins killed my father. By the time I found out what he was on, it was too late. He underwent a double bypass due to heavy tobacco use which resulted in COPD. He radically changed his lifestyle and was doing very well until the statins. I found out after six months of this mitochondrial toxin being pumped into his body and got him off the drugs. The result? Diabetes and high BP: GONE. however, the damage to muscle tissue prevented him from his normal activity level and two years later he was gone. Now, my doctor is trying to push this poison on me. I am very healthy, and active but, her issue is slightly elevated LDL. I told her to do some research. After medical school, doctors receive their education from drug companies and it never ceases to amaze me how so many doctors are devoid of critical thinking skills. Thank you Dr. Berry for not being one of the drones! If they were like you, we would have many more happy, healthy people!

This makes sense...especially when 50% of cardiovascular events occur with people having "normal" LDL.

my doctor wants to "fire" me for refusing statins for a 179 LDL-C when all my other tests are basically fine. He has had a major heart attack and keeps his LDL super low, basically zero. He thinks i should do the same and i think he's crazy for doing that. But since I dont have a medical degree my opinion doesnt count.

I recently had a huge amount of blood work done. My A1C was 5, my fasting blood sugar was 70, my fasting insulin level was 2.2. In addition, a CAC scan earlier in the year was 0. What was my doctor focused on? My LDL was 135 ("Much too high") and he is sure that my fasting insulin level is too low from "excessive fasting". I will be sending him the studies and scheduling an appointment with him in January.

My mom (now deceased from Alzheimer's) had very high total cholesterol, over 600 - diagnosed in the late 80's. Then through the years the medical community kept lowering the cholesterol thresholds so they could prescribe more drugs. It started back then with a threshold of 300 total, then a few years later, it went down to 250, and now we're sitting at 200 as the new max.

This is absolutely true and I just think it's so crazy that doctors aren't educated about this and just push for drugs, it's actually sickening and makes me not want to even go see my doctor. Last time I saw my doctor she told me that keto was not safe and my cholesterol was getting too high (200), it's so disappointing to have a doctor like that. I'm seriously thinking about moving to Tennessee, so Dr. Berry can be my doctor 🤣🥰

I live in Nashville TN… Early in 2022 I came across a video by Mark Sisson and thought the carnivore diet sounded interesting… so early last year I started cutting out carbs and started eating keto, on the verge of a carnivore diet. I’ve always been in pretty good shape and have never been overweight nor had high cholesterol. I have also followed you & Dr Anthony Chaffee during the year. I’m days away from being 63 years old (5’8 130-135lbs and lift weights 4 times a week). So after close to a year of eating keto/carnivore I had my annual physical with blood work last Thursday. My total cholesterol=261, LDL=164, HDL=80 & Triglycerides=87. So for the last 3-4 days I have been digging deeper into cholesterol and was expecting what I received today (an email from my Dr that he wants to put me on meds). I do not plan on doing that. And it may be time time find a new Dr.

Hi Dr Berry. I was told by my GP here in England that my cholesterol is too high. They measure it differently to you. I was told it was 8.5 and that it should be less than 5. Also that he had looked at the risk score chart which tells them when patients are at high risk of stroke, heart attack. Top score being 10. He said I should take a statin. I have been on them in the past and could not tolerate the side effects. I don't worry about it any more . your video is very reassuring and prior to this I watched a talk by Dr Aseem Malhotra who said " if your cholesterol is high then congratulations you will probably live longer"! In my opinion big pharma want us sick so that they can sell us drugs that make us sicker. I am seventy years old and I fast, eat a low carb healthy fat diet and I feel great. This morning I walked two and a half miles on the beach with my dog. I do that most days weather permitting. 😊

I really needed this video. I’ll see my cardiologist on 1/23. My pcp has already prescribed a statin but I want to talk to the cardiologist as well. After all, my triglycerides, HDL and A1C are always good. But they are determined to lower my LDL. I’m just not feelin it right now especially after learning about LDL.

I was on statins for 8-9 years, during this time I lost sleeping, I developed depression and anxiety, I developed heart palpitations, I had very serious problem with my stomach acids, my muscles felt like sponge...yes my cholesterol went down but I think this brought me down as well. I have stopped the statins since a year ago, my total cholesterol is high, hdl is normal, triglycerides normal, LDL high as per the doctor,..but I told my GP there's no way I go back to statins, ...I came to the conclusion that whatever is meant to happen it will happen, but I am feeling much better now, so as long if you feel fine then just listen to your body.
