About a year ago I had a blood test. My triglycerides were through the roof, almost 950. My blood was tinted yellow. I don't drink much, maybe on average 4 drinks a week. I did consume a fair amount of carbohydrates. I don't recollect at this point what percentage. My doctor wanted to prescribe a statin. I am only in my early 50's. I am not ready to get on the drug train! He gave me 3 months to see what a change in diet would do. I cut carbs out almost completely and 3 months later my triglycerides were under 100. So, I consider myself a good example of what a change in diet can accomplish!
Could you please list exactly the foods you stopped eating. Did you substitute them with something else?
Awesome! Thanks for inspiring us.
That is really good! I am wondering what kind of desserts you chose. I am diabetic with high triglycerides.
Yay!
BRAVO !!! thats incredible ! congrats! Now i gotta get on it myself. Cant believe i have done this to myself. I knew better....
Since low carb I've lowered BP, triglycerides, weight, naps, diabetic symptoms and even went back to work at 74 just cause i felt like. I happy with success!
Awesome job
Age 63 here.....amazing the energy I have after 3 months of cutting out all sugar and processed food.feel 20 yrs younger!
Wow you are an inspiration
Am trying to lower my A1c
How long will it take to lower A1c
I am 68 years old. I am a perfect example of what you are saying! My triglycerides came in at 298 when I was eating and drinking lots of sugars and pastas. It was dumb on my part to have so much right before my blood work. I immediately suspected it and requested another blood test in 3 weeks. I stopped a lot of the ice cream, soda, bread and pasta and then took my blood work test. My triglycerides came in at 76! I'm a believer. So many people STILL are old school and stop eating eggs, burgers, sausages etc. and it DOESN'T WORK! Thank you Doctor Ken Berry! No pills for me!
When i started carnivore in april of 2019, my trigs were over 200, and my last blood work in 2021, they are at 77! The good doctor is not lying!
August 26 a lipid test showed my triglycerides at 1603! My A1C was 14.0, total cholesterol was 327.
After three months on a low carb high protein / fat diet, the triglycerides are 192, A1C is 7.3, total cholesterol is 140.
And I lost 18 lbs.
Bravo! Keep going!
Holy hell that’s an improvement!
that is without the help of any medication sir?that is so impressive..
Wayne, my triglycerides are at 1527.....A1C is 12.7 can't remember what my cholesterol was, but when I looked at those numbers, it stopped me in my tracks. Immediately cut out carbs and sugar. My blood glucose hasn't been under 300 in a very long time. I'm on about day 10 with my new eating and just checked my blood sugar and it was 193. Still have a ways to go, but I'm on my way. I too go back for bloodwork in 3 months and am looking forward to positive results. Glad you have yours under control.
Nice work. I'm trying lol

So what's the cure for cancer do u have the answer to that? Some people have no choice even if u have to go the conventional way!
@@lucylu9792 -- Some things have no cure. More important is what causes cancers, and most of them are caused by toxins in the environment (e.g., cigarette smoke, radioactive materials, etc.) so avoiding those is your best bet. I do know that tumors don't do very well on a keto or carnivore diet since they don't consume ketones, so that will probably help to some extent. But not all cancers are identical, and sometimes there's no known reason for why it occurs to a specific person. What I do know is that I don't consider poisoning myself with chemo and ruining the quality of my life just so I MIGHT live an extra couple of months to be "curing" anything, so I wouldn't go through that myself. If you want to, that's your choice though--more power to you. Just know that an industry that relies on you being sick in order to make money is disincentivized from seeking for and providing a real cure to you.
my triglycerides were 500 long ago, i did keto for a year and they dropped to 130. came off keto for a year and its back into the 400s. gotta get back onto keto.
My triglycerides are 26. For the past few years I've had gluten sensitivity, and eliminated flour from my diet. I also eliminated added sugar to help with inflammation. I mostly eat meat, eggs, and vegetables. Not sure if this is why my triglycerides are only at 26, but I wanted to share my experience.
That is why and I commend you for taking your health into ur hands 🔥🩷
My trygliseride always in range 300 to 400; but when it's below 150 then it causes pancreatitis amylase and lipase high, please suggest how I can balance them
just got my lab work back today. Tri level was 30. I am mostly carnivore, 4-5 farm fresh eggs per day with lots of grass fed beef. Am I TOO low?
Here's a simple remedy - don't eat anything that has a label on the container - fresh food doesn't have labels. Learn how to cook and prepare all your own foods from scratch. If your healthy then the doctors don't have any way to prescribe the drugs.
I don’t know where you shop that labels don’t exist on fresh food but it’s clearly not a supermarket or a modern butcher. X
@@HowDidIGet3700Subs I agree with both of your statements. I think there are MANY people who would like to be able to afford to only shop locally, only eat organic, free-range, pasture-fed, lightly killed, foods BUT, when they get to the grocery store and see the PRICES of meat, fish, produce, etc…they realize that they will be paying, in many instances, DOUBLE for the healthier products. I’m lucky to live close to a big-name, Midwest chain of stores that have “market district” attached to the end of their name. They have MANY options for organic produce but, yesterday I went to gather ingredients for a pasta salad and I looked at the fresh cauliflower-“ regular” cauliflower was 2.59 per head, organic was 4.49 per head. When you are caring for an elderly parent and “subsidizing” two children who are both college students, price differences like that end-up breaking the bank. I used to have an enormous garden and I harvested fresh produce every year and grew anything you can think of (that grows in my climate zone) I had a dozen free-range chickens that would lay delicious and organic eggs-that ate only organically grown food. I don’t have the time or money to do that any longer. I had to move to a different house in a different neighborhood to care for my mother and my kids-who are adults but still like dad’s home-cooking!” Lol. Many people, like ME can not afford the money or the time to do the organic stuff anymore. I had 4 heirloom apple trees, black and red raspberries and saved seed from year to year so I didn’t even need to pay for a packet of seeds-all my plants were open-pollinated varieties. Anyone who garden’s seriously, knows how much work that is. I loved the work but I’m pushing 60 and I work full time and the new neighborhood is nice but it’s not nearly as conducive to big-time “urban gardening. I’m lucky to have the options at least, to pay the price for organic if I want and can afford it, but how do people that live in area’s without the selection of grocery stores and without a means for getting to other stores supposed to deal with it? Sorry. That was way too long. ✌🏼

My doctor said my triglycerides are high and just put me on Fenofibrate 54 mg once a day. I've been worried sick since then trying to figure out what to eat what not to eat. I'm a very picky eater so making changes hard for me because not only am I picky but I'm afraid to try new things because of foods textures or smells . And it's really been stressing me out on trying to eat healthy to lower my triglycerides. And I must say after watching this video I had no clue that it was all in carbohydrates. So now I'm like I got this I can cut out the pastries and donuts and cakes and cookies and candy . I've actually already even cut out sodas . So I want to say thank you for your video because you have made this sounds so much easier and actually gave me hope that I know I can do this! Thank You.
My triglycerides were 188 in March of 2023. I cut out carbs and sugar. I don’t really drink alcohol. My new results on July 10th: triglycerides we’re 146, and I lost 50 lbs. thank you Dr.

I came here to know what to eat and drink because I'm not a meat and fat eater. I just didn't understand where this was coming from..after watching your video, and I realized it was my love for pastries, high carbs food, all freezy slushy smoothies...
THANK YOU, DOC!
Interesting! I don't have high triglycerides and don't know of anyone I know that has told me they do, but I am terribly curious and love to learn. They started my mom on statins which I objected to and she then refused. That was decades ago. She turned 102 in December and goes to church with me on Sundays. Great grandma fell off the step ladder washing the windows on her house at 102 but was nothing but black and blue, and lived in her own house taking doing the cooking for her daughters whose husbands had died, until they didn't wake up from smelling breakfast one morning and found her dead at 104 for no apparent reason. She wasn't on anything either, and her only problem was hearing if she couldn't see your lips. Relatives always ask my opinion and all I do make sure it is science that is driving it, and if there is another way other than pills. Thank you for posting.
Jack T, we can only hope to live a long healthy life as your family members. To Good Health!
Wow! Sounds My husband's grandmother who died of "old age" at 107! I love talking about her. That woman took no medications at all, had only dentures and catatact surgery. WEnt to bingo very weekend and even those trips by bus that went to Louisiana ! She broke her left hip and later her right hip when she was in her "early" 100s and survived them. She ate everything! Were Hispanic (Mexican) so she ate all the classic tex mex foods and coffee! I miss her!
I reversed my type 2 diabetes by cutting carbs. My A1c is now 5.4 Thank you Dr Berry. I recommend you to all my friends and family. Namaste 🙏
My doctor say 5.4 is to high for your a1c it needs to be lower like 4.5 she said or lower

My triglycerides were high and I have/had metabolic syndrome as well as T2 diabetes for 5+ years that I know of. I reduced my carbs intake to less than 25g a day, increased saturated fat in my diet, reduced my eating window to four hours and occasionally fast for up to five days. My Hba1C is 5.6, I’ve lost 14kilos in a year and feel energetic and full of clear brain power without the need for an afternoon nap as I used to have. I am 75 in a couple of months and the only thing that is needed is a plan and will-power.

I have been battling High TGs for years though my Doctor never really explained to me the why. After COVID hit I had stopped exercising and was not following NSNG very closely at all eating like crap and BOOM out of the blue I get massive painful attack in the midsection one late afternoon at work, ended up vomiting on drive home. Wife thought I was having a heart attack because I was ashy and grey, rushed me to the ER. When I first arrived they kept drawing blood and telling me the machine did not like my blood, turned out my Triglycerides were off the chart along with my Lipase, and my pancreas was swollen. My blood looked like a purple milkshake. Then they started asking me how much I drank every day (I don't had not had a drink in months just a lot of McDs) 2 days later after having spent 18 hours in ICU on Insulin drip I got out and found food jeezus never going back. The last 2 days in the hospital they kept trying to feed me fruit, fruit juice, artificially sweetened pudding and jello. I said no just beef broth and eggs and bacon. No one in the place would believe me when I said I had been eating too much sugar and carbohydrates, they would have given me toast and jam if I let them.
Can you provide the link to the drugs you said be careful of?
I would like that video also. Glad you are better now...thank God!
I had basically the same experience my triglycerides were 7,500!!!!! Pancreatitis attacks, ICU twice, red nodules on my knees and elbows, my A1c was 13.5. Now I’m doing keto and time restricted eating windows. Feeling much better, average blood sugar is down 100 points in 6 weeks so far.
Mike, what a fright to get! And the most shocking bit was this: " The last 2 days in the hospital they kept trying to feed me fruit, fruit juice, artificially sweetened pudding and jello." That really is criminal. And it is EXACTLY what old people's homes and hospitals feed people - and it promotes vulnerability to COVID as well.
Its hard to get healthy around Medical drones.
@@chadchurch9609 oh no! Same here! Mine was 7500, ICU three weeks. Was managed for two years and was off statin, then BOOM! Back up to 1700.
after a stroke the neurologist explained to me they have discovered high triglycerides are the primary cause of strokes and heart attacks. He said direct sugars is the primary problem. I cut out ALL sugars and my triglycerides dropped from 125 to 76 in about eight weeks. Then, I found you and it has gotten even better plus, now I get to enjoy lots of meat and fat and I continue to lose weight (and that is not even my goal) (just a bonus).
Thank you so much! I like that you allow the patient/viewer to learn and try to improve.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I cannot thank you enough. My blood work this time last year was stroke, heart attack level. My blood pressure was 199/94 in 2017 & I was prescribed yet ANOTHER HBP medicine. Thank you Dr. Berry for caring enough about people to share your knowledge 😊 🎉🎉
Thank you for the message Dr Berry!
Thanks for your advice, Dr. Berry!
I have been doing a ketovore diet for almost a year now. After 7 months on the diet, my triglycerides dropped from 797 to 349. Obviously still very high, my doctor insisted the diet isn't working and that I am at high risk of a heart attack or stroke (especially given family history). She wants to put me on a pill, but I pleaded with her to let me go a little longer on the diet and see if the number comes down. All my other lab numbers were normal, including my A1C and glucose levels (I am..or was..a type 2 diabetic). I do not eat sweets, don't drink, and avoid carbs as much as possible. I am typically consuming under 50 carbs a day and I do a 16 hour fast each day. This is the only "diet" I've ever been on where I'm not starving all the time. Thanks for all you do Dr. Berry!
Chad, try sage tea. It apparently has metformin-like effects without being a Dreaded Statin. Try even less TOTAL carbs per day... Under 20
Why would you plead with a doctor to stay on the diet? It's not their choice, it's yours. They can't make you take the meds or get off the diet. If they insist on writing you a prescription, you are under no obligation to get it from the pharmacy. Do your own thing and go back and get a new blood test when you're ready. If the results are good then no harm, no foul and the doctor will go with the flow. If not and the doc gives you a hard time then F her. Leave and get a new doctor who's more knowledgeable and respects your wishes. Doctors work for us. Remember that.
Don't plead with no doctor to let you keep trying what you see working. You don't work For the doctor he/she works for you. Thats why you can choose another one
Triglycerides from fat are an energy source. Try increasing total calories eaten and see if that helps.
Also, taking a day of eating unprocessed carbs can help plummet triglycerides in healthy people.
I have had triglyceride numbers that was so high, they had no way to measure it. They calculated it to be, between 2o,000 and 30,000. Of course my cholesterol count was 4,750. That's how they got those T levels. All this was caused by out of control diabetes. Been on a low carb diet since then. Have lost 90 lbs. Diabetes has been controlled. Keto has changed my life.

THIS VIDEO RIGHT HERE got me into my Carnivore path and on the road to fixing my decades-long high triglycerides and cholesterol conditions. Found the video as I was laying in a hospital bed, recovering from L1 corpectomy and T12-L2 fusion brought on by a compression fracture caused by a single plasmacytoma around the L1 vertebrae. The VA doctors always said exactly the same thing, that it was hereditary and prescribed Lopid (had a really severe reaction to it) and then later fenofibrates and Omega3 supplements which did not help much. They suggested to limit my fat and alcohol intake and to exercise more, which I did, but NEVER mentioned lowering my carb/sugar intake which it wasn't that high, or so I thought. Thank you Dr. Berry! 100+ days in Carnivore and those conditions are now gone, my surgery recovery have been very fast, lost a few pounds (wasn't obese to begin with but welcomed) and hopefully, will keep future tumors from developing. He is changing my life and health for the better! I am forever grateful 💗❤️💗
I love his attitude!!
Dr Berry deserves some type of health education award 🥇!!!!!!!! Love this channel!!!!
Thank you for this video. Just sent to my beloved aunt who is high cholesterol has struggled with weight and is debating keto. I really hope she does it🙏🏽
You are such a stand up man Dr.Berry. I always trust that you will try to have the most up to date and proper information and I can sense your genuine care for doing what’s right! Thank you for being a solid source of knowledge for us all in this world of sickness and disease. Truly grateful for you and your work!! 🙏🏼
AMEN
I do all you say only thing I do is eat one whole lemon...peel and all a day. I have not had a drop of alcohol for decades. I am carnivore since that momumental day and the ensuring great renderering of fat in a week. How can I tell if pancreas is healthy?
Thank you for explaining this so clearly! I was baffled by my sudden (always been perfectly healthy) lipid results saying high triglycerides. I eat a generally healthy diet and move often but in these last few months I have been having a lot of soda. Now I know what's caused it, thanks again!
Thanks Doc! This was the information that I needed! Subscribed!
I trust you Dr. Ken. Your advice helped my mom with her osteoporosis. Hope this one helps with my high triglycerides
3 years ago my Triglycerides reading was 4.9 mmol/L and got it down to 0.5 mmol/L and now sits at 1.25 mmol/L so yes definitely works and ratio between HDL and Tryg is great, thanks Dr Berry
Man, this explains a bunch! I'm 64 and relatively healthy - except for pancreas divisium (very rare) and pancreatitis. The only levels that have ever been too high on my panels have been triglycerides. This explains a lot - I will start today! I have TONS of carbohydrates to cut out...
Look at fasting!!!! Water and minerals for at least three days! Eat at six in morning, then noon, then start your fast! Your liver will run out of carbs to feed the body, then it makes a different carb called, Koteen. This feeds your body and starts reprogramming it. It changes cholesterol levels and then it changes into peroxide that cleans the body. Five days , would be better!! Please do some research . Good luck!!
Same here, got the news last week, carbs gotta go ✌️
@@stevehamman4465 three days 😞🥀
@@stevehamman4465 What's Koteen?
@@coldenhaulfield5998 your liver does different things! After it gives out carbs,,,, and the body runs out of carbs , the liver makes a different carb koteen!! It goes into starvation mode and makes kotene! No food,, just water and supplements!! The kotene reprograms the body and cleans it !! Please do your own research!!! It's called fasting! 3--5--7day fast!
Great information. Thank you and GOD BLESS YOU.
Good video and great information! Thanks for sharing the knowledge.....
Very helpful video. My triglycerides is way very high in the 800s. I will follow these steps and will have my labs in six weeks. More power to your channel Doc. Just subscribed😊
Thanks Dr Berry. I've just been put on medicine for this condition just last week.
Thank you. Great info
Thank you so much for this info Dr! I am learning a lot with your videos, you are so nice to take the time to educate us!
My triglycerides were over 3,000 way back in the early 1980's when it was first caught. Specialist I was sent to told me it's probably inherited, here take this LOPID 1x/day. Nothing was said about diet or anything that could lower it naturally. Even with LOPID, it can still be over 1,000. The lowest it has ever been tested at was about 500 and of course I had no idea why it was that low except that I was discovered to have diabetes in 1999, so over time I started eating better as I learned more about diabetes. NO DOCTOR ever told me carbohydrates should be eliminated, only that I should eat whole grains, if I eat them. Fruit was okay too, according to them. Well.... today I know better, but I had to learn all this on my own and with the help of these videos. I still have high triglycerides though, even when I eat minimal amounts of carbohydrates. I have NEVER been close to the normal levels, no matter what I do. It is frustrating. One doctor told me that if I haven't had pancreatitis by this age (66) with such high triglycerides, I may never get it.
have you tried going full carnivore for a couple of months, and then have your bloodwork done?
Your body may be equipped in other ways to deal with it just fine. Genetics. ☺
Don't give up,the problem that was done for so many years cannot be undone in a few weeks or months being in a low carb high fat diet like Keto or Carnivore diet, just be consistent ,Rome was not built in one day..Godbless
@@Lamz.. Not yet, but I plan to try that soon.
On Monday I found out my triglycerides were at 242. I’m 38 and need to lose a good 30lbs. I don’t smoke or drink so my vice is junk food. I’m getting back into weight lifting & bicycling & starting a low carb health diet asap. Might go keto later but start off slow with very low carb. I’m just glad the doctor didn’t try to stick me on meds, said to try the natural way first.
Not a high score at all?
@@mattbroughton750 That was a year ago. They’re at 51 now.
Thanks for sharing
Ty for sharing Dr.Berry
Thanks for this infomation. My trigy level is at 155. I stopped drinking 15 years ago. My HGB A1C was 6.8%. However, I do attribute this sugar spike to taking Rosuvastatin which I have now stopped. My doctor was asking me to go on statins ( with a cholesterol of about 220 at age 71 ) and about a month ago I did start and now with this spike in the A1C I have stopped the statin & will follow your leads. Thanks !!
This doctor is spot on! I was struggling to lower my trygs that we’re at 250 and just by cutting down on corn tortillas and dumping soft drinks I lowered it to 75!! And the best part is I can have my ribeye steaks and eat them too!!
Awesome 🎉. Congratulations 🎉. Look for tortillas made out of cactus. They look and taste a lot like corn tortillas.
Always good report
As always fantastic advice dr Berry thank you for sharing and pls keep up the excelent job 🙏🏾👍🏾💪🏾
Thank you Dr. Berry for all these informations which my doctors never mention.
I enjoy your videos!
On keto. Was concerned...but.. Just got blood results back today 04/2021. It seems that it's finally leveling off as I do keto. Interesting!
Went from 139 down to 115lbs. Enjoy your videos...and they are more current. Thnx!!
Just re'cvd results.
Chol now 278

Very interesting ,good presentation , feel like I may have learned something
Outstanding channel. Thank you. 👍🇺🇸
ALSO: Friends I done miracles after going thru a course 'SUGAR BUSTERS'. From size 42 down to my reg 33, 34, readings down. I cut/replace white flour et al, white rice, and my alllll time fav spuds (OUCH) Took it off, kept it off and it's been almost 2 decades. Good luck to you.
I'm 65 and my triglycerides went from 332 to 169 in 3 mos. I quit sugar, (l have a super sweet tooth since l was young) quit processed carbs, started IF, and lost 20 lbs. Started on prescription fish oil as well. And l have 20 more lbs to lose! I have a stent in LAD artery from 15 years ago and don't want another one or worse.👍😁 l now eat mostly grass fed meat, veggies, nuts, cheese, good fats, pastured eggs, and fruit only once and awhile. I'll have more labs in 3 mos and hopefully they will have gone even lower!
Thank you Doctor, this was extremely helpful to me.
Very useful and informative
I lowered my triglycerides 400 points by doing keto for 6 months! I am at 146 (now) and I still drink but only straight whiskey. My HDL went from 35 to 45 also! I did this to loose weight and avoid taking statins for high cholesterol (250 stayed exactly the same). My Dr is so happy with the results he's onboard with no statins and to continue what I am doing now.
This is the one that I have been waiting for! Thank you so much!! I finally understand. My triglycerides are at 300. I started keto, but it seemed so inconvenient. Now, I see. This will kill me. I love your videos. I thank you so much!
If keto is inconvenient then do carnivore. Easy and very convenient.
Love your videos. Thank you.
Thank you
Very informative
Appreciate your videos 😊❤🙏
