YES! Please do a video for momma having ADHD / tendencies! As you were listing a lot of these I was thinking “Hmmm, that works well for me too personally.” 😂
Great Video! Thanks for your content!❤️
You are very welcome.
We just started having one of my kids play classical music while they do math and it’s helped them focus!
Yes it’s amazing how it works for my son
The brain dump notebook has been a game changer for me as well!! When I don’t have a notebook near, I pop the idea or thought into Notes on my phone.
🥰
Yes!!! Please make a mom video! We are second year homeschoolers and this momma needs some help lol
Awesome, the video should be out begining of Sep
Thank you.❤ It is so reassuring to know I’m not alone in this and that you have found helpful strategies. Your success gives me hope.
I’m so glad this was encouraging. Your definitely not alone and it can be done with the right adaptions.
These are really good ideas I like the notebook idea my son is always doodling on just any random paper so I will try that along with the quiet music yes a lot of distractions thank you

This is a gold mine of tips for homeschooling with adhd! You’re going to help a lot of families. I was going to say, some of these help with mom’s who have adhd 😁
So true
I got some great ideas from this video. We struggle with him constantly making noise and fidgeting and not focusing on the work. I know there’s no way he could make it in a ps setting.
I know what you mean!
Yes please! Please do a video to help us ADHD moms!!

You’re welcome
I'd like recommend some reading as a mom who didn't realize that diet could have a huge impact on kids' behavior. I didn't know my son had ADHD symptoms until I tried the Feingold diet. He was having major speech issues (that he has not fully recovered from), but changing his diet also revealed that it was affecting his attention span and making him irritable.
The books Sheri Davis' "All Natural Mom's Guide to the Feingold Diet: A Natural Approach to ADHD and Other Related Disorders" and Dr. Feingold's "Why Your Child Is Hyperactive" have also intensely helpful for us. They are diet changes that you can put into practice quickly, particularly to eliminate petroleum based food additives and preservatives. My son was a more focused, calmer little man after a few days. And even moreso as we've tweaked the diet over the past few months.
The book "Disconnected Kids" by Dr. Robert Melillo may also help. It talks about brain function and ADHD and exercises that can help the core issues in lieu of just trying to teach around it or "deal with it."
It may not work for everyone, but it's really helped my son. The book does advertise for a more formal (and expensive) therapy program called Brain Balance, and we are doing the formal program, but the book gives you a trimmed down version of many of the exercises and diet plans that the formal program uses, and you can do those on your own just using the book. The exercises could be rolled right into a gym program for homeschooling.
Thank you for the recommendation I will check those out!
Great tips and reminders! I have been skipping active time before school
and they have been extra wiggly. I will add that back in! And, putting the checklist somewhere is a good idea. I have it in a book but some rarely look at it.
Yes, that would be great to have a video on ADHD moms.
Thanks again for the encouraging videos!
You are very welcome
Please do one for mamas with adhd. Thank you so much for these tips!
Will do
Thank you!!!
You are very welcome
Thankyou so much for this!
You are welcome
Thanks for all of these tips -- there are lots of cool good things about people with ADHD, but we have to help them grow to be competent adults. My little guy has ADHD and I am going to try that checklist for him even if I do a picture chart.
Yes picture charts can be so helpful
❤❤❤ really love your channel so much. It has helped tremendously.
I’m so happy to hear that. It means a lot.

Yay it will be out soon
I love these tips! Thank you! Would definitely love a Mama ADHD video! This Mama definitely struggles too.😁
Will do!
Thank you for the tips! What music would do you recommend? My kiddo and I don't have the same taste in music.
Instrumental music without lyrics works best and I like to play piano guys for school but like I said my son prefers techno lol 😂
This was really helpful
I’m so glad to hear that
My ADHDer also struggles with writing / dysgraphia. :( I hope I can get him to use a brain dump notebook.
❤️
This is a super helpful video!! Can you drop a link for the noise canceling headphones? Would love more tips on the losing things please? My ADHD son loses everything and then freaks out when he can’t find them. He also has a habit of breaking things because he is careless, any suggestions for that? He too also has anxiety.
Here is the headphones Noise Canceling Headphones amzn.to/3RfU6sM
And in regards to the other questions let me think about that and I will get back to you. We definitely have similar issues
@@LifeintheMundane thank you!!!
Thank you for these tips! As I watched I realized that I have implemented almost all of these over the years without consciously realizing it, because I saw how much it helped and we continued it. The one exception is the music one, and I really think my son would love that. I’ll be trying that next week! I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this: I’ve been reading that adhd ought to be considered a learning disability, not a behavioral issue, due to the lagging executive functioning. I’m finding that my son is struggling with working memory especially, remembering things like multiplication facts, grammar concepts we’ve learned, things like that. The amount of review we have to do means we are moving so slowly through his curriculum that it feels like we aren’t making any progress in some areas. Have you experienced this? I am also considering that it may be anxiety too. I can’t tell if he can’t remember something without a lot of help, or if he’s paralyzed out of anxiety. I hope that makes sense.
So one of my kiddos with ADHD has zero problems with working memory and retention while my other has tons of issues with those things. The one who does struggle does have anxiety so maybe that is a factor but truthfully I think it’s a spectrum and presents itself so differently in different people
I have an ADHD teen (19). My daughter CAN’T clean up her room. She is so overwhelmed and distracted because she works and does college classes ( at a local university). She collects so much stuff… definitely not a minimalist. I am overwhelmed with it all!
That is not uncommon with kids or adults with ADHD. What I have found helpful is helping them declutter as I have found any visual clutter is overwhelming. When she has less she can manage it better but I know that can be a lot harder with a teen. Does she see it as a problem? If she is overwhelmed then maybe offering to help in this way could be good.
Please make that video.
