    Thanks for such a useful review! I've watched alot of other homeschool reviews and they are usually not in depth or helpful. I appreciated your clear advice on print vs. digital and the pros and cons! I think my son will love this as he always needs "fluff" to buy in to the lesson !

    New to your videos and they have been super helpful! Such a great overview of Grammar Galaxy! This video led us to getting the audio book too and I'm so glad we did! He's a great reader, but struggles with his listening skills so the audiobook is a great way to practice this. We just have the book on hand to look at the vocab words. It's also great for kids with disgraphia or who are reluctant writers. My son loves using the erasable highlighter!

    "fun" lessons are definitely kind of rare where grammar is concerned. I am one of those people who naturally really enjoy grammar...but I have found over the years that most kids don't agree with me. The whole "mission" concept is intriguing!

    This reminds me of Masterbooks. What are your thoughts?

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  Před 3 lety +1

      So it is a bit similar to master books in the sense that it is a story based lesson however I feel like the similarities kinda stop there. You are focusing on one topic per week vs having activities on a variation of topics each week. This does not have reading instruction the way that master books does (although I found there reading instruction to be lacking). Also the stories are longer and more in depth then master books. Your right they are kind of in the same vain but when you actually dig into the content I find them completely different. Thanks for watching!

    How would you compare this to LLFLE? I have found LLFLE is great but the spelling isn’t a good fit.

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  Před 3 lety

      I don’t use this for spelling and it’s not really meant to be used for spelling. It’s hard to compare it to LLFLE as the approach’s are completely different. This is more story based then worksheet based. Not sure if that helps or not. It’s also been several years since I used LLFLE, sorry I can’t be more help.

    Do you feel like there is a lot of repetition with this? Or just a brief review of previously taught concepts and then they can move on to learning something new?

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  Před 3 lety

      There is not tons of repetition with this other then the brief review at the beginning of each chapter and an occasional quiz.

  • @jennythomas3985
    @jennythomas3985 Před 3 lety +1

    Do you need the workbook?

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  Před 3 lety +2

      So the teacher book is the story and concepts but there are no questions or activities for reinforcement so I would say unless you want to come up with your own activities yes you would want the workbook. Now that being said I actually like to get the digital copy of the workbook so I can print only the pages I want and so I can print it for future kids without having to repurchase material.

    I appreciate the review. Thank you.
    However, this is not Charlotte Mason based. People love to say everything story based is CM. But that just isn't true. She taught History and Science using living books with narration. But she taught Grammar and Spelling through copywork and dictation. Just because a curriculum uses a story to teach concepts doesn't make it CM.
