Why is the quality so bad?
A: I tried to record off my phone, but got the black screen of death. Then tried to capture it on my computer, but Quibi app would not work on my computer. So I had to go old school and set up a tripod, speakers, and record in a dark room. I know it's bad, but it was the best I could do at the moment.
CZcams will take this down due to copywrite, right?
A: I don't know. It's still up. Quibi owned the rights to the "home movie" version, now that Quibi has gone under, copywrite is in question.

Someone needs to make a list. I didn't know all of them, but was that Malkovich as the impressive clergyman? Chris Pine? Andy Serkis? I think Sarah Silverman played Peter Falk in there. Mackenzie Davis, Common, Shaq?, obviously Carl and Rob Reiner, Diego Luna, Rainn Wilson, jeez, I need to watch it again and write more down.
They did the NOT TO FIFTY! line twice, which was wrong. They missed the I"M ON THE BRUTE SQUAD, YOU ARE THE BRUTE SQUAD moment. They took a little shortcut in both the fireswamp and the pit of despair, but that was AMAZING. Oh yeah, they missed Humperdink's 2nd I KNEW HE WAS... BLUFFING after Inigo pointed his sword at him.
This was amazing. If it had a theatrical release I would have paid to see it, especially if the money went to charity.

It's so crystal clear that they ALL love this spectacular film. Actors are drama geeks who made it.
This is the only remake of the film we will ever need. It is dripping with love for the original, amazingly recreated and performed so well that the lack of set dressing and continuity doesn't detract from it at all.
except for Pedro Pascal who ironically used the worst spanish accent and seemed to be making fun of it and messed up a lot of the lines, I don't think he's even seen the movie! The rest was legit.

Getting Patton Oswalt as Vezzini for The Battle of Wits was a real treat. I was impressed at the many treatments of Fezzig, no one came off cringy. Adam Sandler was a great Grandpa. And Why are none of the top comments talking about how spot on Seth Rogan was as Miracle Max? He Killed it!
I thought Seth Rogan was so fantastic, I totally did not expect such a perfect performance.

Rainn as Vizzini, Segel as Fezzik and Pedro as Inigo are so ridiculously perfect. And then there's Jack Black with a lightsaber crawling up cement stairs.
Elijah as Humperdink and Serkis as Tyrone are also great.

Paul Rudd's zoom at the end and Carl Reiner saying as you wish were perfect finishing touches. A great blend of comedy & feels. In many ways this is better than the original.
The Carl Reiner scene is absolutely heartbreaking because he died just a few days after filming it. The last line of the last role of his life is basically telling his real son that he loves him.
I absolutely loved this. I am of the firm belief that, unless the Muppets remade it, this movie could not be remade. This is the only exception.

How is this not the most viewed thing on youtube?!?! This is amazing!!! The original wesley playing humperdink at the end had me screaming!!! Every scene of this project was a surprise because you never knew who would have the next line! And the final fight where the sword changed every time the cameras switched?!? It was hilarious and brought a beautiful levity to the immaculate preformance!!!

So many great moments here, but my favorite parts: Pedro Pascal, Penelope Cruz, Patton Oswalt, Bryan Cranston, Seth Rogan, Paul Rudd, and the woman who played Max's wife were PERFECTLY cast and did such an awesome job. Neil and his husband's kiss was A plus. Andy and Elijah together made me SO happy. The sudden reveals of BJ Novak, Sarah Cooper, and Carey Elwes made me CACKLE out loud.

Without expecting it, Carl Reiner gave his son, and us, the sweetest "goodbye" he could.
I loved some of the subtle comedic moments by some of them, Keegan-Michael Key's cut to the city street, Paul Ruud's hand going to zoom and zooming a bit too far, Javier Bardem switching swords, Tom Lennon's whole bit.

That last fight scene with Rugen (Bryan Cranston) and Inigo (Javier Bardem) was amazing. Both really committed to the roles just as well as if they were on a movie screen. And Elijah Wood was a surprisingly good and funny Humperdinck.

Really some of the best existing casting choices for the two parts. Although no one will ever move me thr way Mandy Patinkin did when saying he wanted his father back.
Javier Bardem acting like he's going to win an Oscar while holding a different silly prop with every cut is the sort of performance we fans don't deserve.
That they paired Elijah with Andy Cerkis was beautiful. Makes me with they could somehow get worked into the Amazon LotR reboot.

I wish I could better express my feelings for this work. I watched it in 2023, and it reminded me of one of the few good things during COVID: the incredible creativity and the ingenious ways people found to collaborate virtually. It will always be a reminder of a time we were all stuck at home and how we dealt with it. I love all the little crazy ways the actors deal with not having proper props and costumes (note how Javier Bardem’s sword keeps changing from duster, to tennis racket, to a spoon, etc.). It’s also the most loving ode to The Princess Bride. The last episode was touching enough with Cary Elwes as Humperdinck, but I was in tears seeing Carl and Rob Reiner - THAT was too beautiful for words. ❤❤❤

Goes to show how well-written it was in the first place. The actors can swing around tennis rackets and feather dusters but if it’s well written and well acted, it can still be compelling.

@@ANerdsNerd As much as I love Sophie Turner, I think her and the Jonas Bro’s addition was mediocre and almost sacrilegious. Everyone else played it very earnestly and it worked, but they didn’t treat it with respect and it showed.

Man, that Carl Reiner scene in the end hits hard. For anyone who doesn't know; Carl Reiner, the last guy who plays the grandfather, was Rob Reiner's father (the director of the original movie who plays the grandson in that very last scene). He passed away the same day the first episode of this was released (June 29th), so ending this with him saying goodbye to his son and promising to come back tomorrow... man, I don't know, it's just one hell of a coincidence and I think it's moving.

He did used the original audio, like some other actors, right? Even if he did, flawless delivery.
