Depending on Government assistance in the area, some of these people are facing paying a mortgage to the bank for the rest of their lives, on buildings that no longer exist, on acreage that has washed out to the ocean along a highway that may never be rebuilt.
The ones that managed to save their vehicles and trailers, getting them to sections of road that didn’t wash away will never be paid by insurance. The vehicles are fine. They aren’t damaged. They just can never be driven again…

That road is gone, not just in one part, but in general
It's 70 plus km from Merritt to Spence's Bridge. That road was built in the 50s pre coke!
Been paid little attention to. Was once vital. Road building in BC is expensive and complex. It was built well when it was put in.
I was lucky to not get stuck in this - the Sunday night that this happened, was gonna take the coq to get back to kelowna from seattle but took the snoqualmie pass instead.
This is heartbreaking to see. I spent a week at the end of August working in this area, doing wildfire work. I was on a crew from Alberta. Every day we'd travel down from Cache Creek and check on properties all along highway 8, to Sunshine Valley. Met lots of nice people (and animals).
woke up this morning wondering how Bradley is doing, hope he's okay
Thanks for posting these, really appreciate it
Justed fucked
Heart breaking, the thought of paying on land you can’t get too.
I'm really glad you didn't take down your channel. You and this channel have been huge in getting hel to these people
Your description of destroyed nailed it. Not just click bait.
Crazy to see places i been to in sep 2019 get flooded!
Yes. Thanks. News TV don’t or can’t do as good a job of showing disasters like this as well as people who are actually there and living it‼️👍
Hi there👋, Good morning how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a good start so far!!❤️
Mother Nature certainly has a way of reminding us who is boss……
@موسا Actually, neither one exists, but that’s a topic for another day…
@موسا Yea, as far as cars go, they are created at the factory. As far as creators go, they are made up to keep people in control.
I’ve been through there a few times. One of my favourite “bike paths”. I was through there once in 1985 on the day they opened the Coke and was in the first procession southbound. I’m a bc guy
Rip, you will be missed.
wow the forces of nature are so powerful!
Random viewer, did Brad pull the plug?
thanks interesting
crazy!
8 months since last upload, something happend??
May as well allocate a completely new route and road there, that isn't getting fixed any time soon, and isn't worth reusing the route. Lots of roads like that in BC, one of these years they will each have their turn at being wiped out like this.
Hi there👋, Good morning how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a good start so far!!❤️
Looks like when they rebuild they’re gonna have to use some serious mountain jagged rock to armor those sections🤔
@@amytaylor2673 Good morning to you and thank you I’m having a great day hope yours goes awesome too🦾
@@amytaylor2673 Calgary Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 how about you where are you from?
@@amytaylor2673 It is pretty nice not too hot but all the trees are starting to turn yellow within the last couple of nights so winter will be here soon😮 do you like living in North Carolina? You are very beautiful👸
@@amytaylor2673 Sounds good I’m not too sure how to do that?
Any plans for new videos with the new heli?
So, what has happened to Bradley Friesen and his pup? No videos in a long time. Hope all is well.
How 2 keep auntie smakzers out of the prov , pretty extreme I'd say
Is it raining to much instead of snow??
Both. We got a big early snowpack and then hit with warm rain. 250mm of rain in 24hrs. The melting snow along with the deluge hit land decimated by fires. The land absorbs 60% less water. The ash actually repells it. It's all gotta go somewhere. We have 3 more storms, back to back to back waiting to nail us after another big dump of snow.
about 10 inches in 24 hours.
@@bradleyfriesen We had some pretty big mud slides here in colorado through glenwood canyon shoutdown i-70 for over a month in canyon area being a truck driver it was horrible there was a way around but it added like 4 extra hours on DOT 11 hours had alot of stay over nites there was no way to get back in time!! This looks way worse than that what a mess. Those roads are gona be completly gone!!
@@ehunter2010ed These repairs will take time that will make a month look like a picnic…….
did you take that generator to randy?
Don't know their names off the top of my head. We took it to a farm on Spius Creek that was wiped out.
Great footage Bradley; I have been on that road multiple times on my motorcycle, hands down one of the best rides in BC. Hopefully it will be rebuilt, as I am sure it is a vital road with more importance beyond my enjoyment as a great riding road.
This is crazy. Pissed your channel doesn’t get more attention.
Hey, did you grow up in Richmond??? Go to Rideau Park elementary school??
nope
No worries, everything should be repaired in a week or two.
What happened to the channel?
I don't want my tax $ being spent on repairing this just to be wiped out again. A new route, perhaps. One that doesn't put the road in a sandbox right next to a stream!
YES IT WAS A JOKE OF A BUILD
When was this road last wiped out? You talk about it like it was washed out every week. It's gone because of forest fires and deforestation. Not because of a poor design. It was built in 1953 and has had very little work done to it since.
@@smokenbudesq LOUD NOISES!!!
It needs a 5 billion dollar repair budget.
With less than 200 people living there.
@@matcheer9909 It connects communities more than just services 200 people. And 5 billion isn't the budget. They would use the old Kettle Valley Rail Line which is higher.
Please start posting again, even shorts!
That's absolutely normal, it happens every year.
:(
Just bad luck
This is great news for Québec as they can learn to be independent from Canada!
Sure, until they find themselves in the same situation in isolation.
Quebec will never separate from canada. Its not their land to take or canadas to give. Plus its also pretty much all crown land. An english monarch would never give so much up to the french lol
How is this comment relevant ???
٨ههههههه
need before and after. To me it seems just a road made in a wrong place
Thanks so much for your professional opinion. I’ll let the guys who made the road back in the 50’s know your feedback.
@@bradleyfriesen Stellar reply!!! Just like all the people saying that the lake should never have been drained 100 years ago in the Sumas area....I am sure the planners back in that era would love the modern feedback.
Are you Jewish?
Why tf would you ask him that?
