Bringing in a new manager who won’t even get to work with the team until post euros with the team leaving for pre season days after. It puts any new coach already at a disadvantage. Ten hag has a good year and a bad year but more importantly he’s proven and knows what the team needs, which players lack mentality and which kids are coming through as he cleared out Hannibal fred etc for mainoo to come through

@@Danny-iv5uu It makes the most financial sense, it makes the most transitional(in terms of INEOS ownership) sense, it makes the most business sense when you look at win % and cup run records,(Coventry away from 3 finals in 2 seasons with 1 Already won...) and the 60 injuries this season. Thats before we get to him starting to correct the club culture a year ahead of INEOS' arrival, and the misc. suspensions, crybabies, and 'scandals' he's handled.

Hi Sam, I dont really know where to start, but despite all the negatives, i do feel that these players are fighting for him. We are in no position to trash Chelsea, but it takes character to come back for some of the games we were behind, ( Liverpool and Chelsea ). I look at these players, these players even though they dont seem to have any idea what the hell they're doing at times, there are signs that they are fighting for Erik, which is important to me. It shows that he has 1) not lost the dressing room, and 2) the players are backing him. Where do i stand? I am with Erik, a 100% even if we go dont qualify for any European football next year. This season as a whole hasn't been good enough, but yeah, so many things have been going on and it doesnt benefit the club, doesnt benefit Erik. Let me also say, i truly would lose hope in Erik when he gets the team he wants, and they fail to compete. Take a look at this team, it has Jose's signings, Ole's signings, and some of Erik's signings. In an ideal world, would some of these players be here if Erik was here earlier? I dont want to go into individual performances for some players this season. With every 1 or 2 lows, i can name a good thing that has come out of it too. Rashford's bang average, out of form, but you have a player like Garnacho. Antony has been below standard, but you got people like Maguire stepping up, Mainoo's breakthrough. Injuries havent helped us 1 bit. I dont keep tabs on other clubs much, but how many clubs out there can say they have a centreback partnering like we do? The combinations, the injuries we have to first team players through this season. It feels like Martinez barely played at all this season. And we all know how important he is to this team, what he brings to this team. So yes, despite all these results, all these negativity, i am a 100% still with Erik. And if im being honest, i was split on the decision to sack Ole, but Erik is nowhere near that yet for me.

United have no foundations, appalling ownership that created a culture of pathetic unprofessional clowns that represent our club. That's not just leveled at the players but also the board and senior leadership. It's a fuckikg car crash and not Pep or Klopp could succeed. That's why EtH should be given another season to remove as many of these pathetic players that he can this summer and hopefully that will improve the foundations of our team. Get some players fitness back, sell the likes of Rashford, Sancho, Maguire, Casimero and we might hopefully grab a few bargains that could be developed. If we keep him, he must - MUST - take a reduced role. Because last night's game is indicative, in my opinion, of the chaos surrounding the club. Aging players, no real hustle except from a few of the younger guys. The majority of the team needs to go. Replace them with youth, keep a couple of the senior players on as mentors to the younger lads (Johny Evans, while losing a step, showed his experience last night and would do us well to keep him around for such a purpose). This season has been completely unacceptable and watching it has been gut-wrenching! City are now where we used to be and that, too, is unacceptable. Go with youth who will hustle from beginning to end and play for the badge and stop buying these geriatrics at the end of their careers.

    • @DenUitvreter
      @DenUitvreter Před měsícem +1

Some managers can have a huge impact and certain managers have been proven to be that type of manager, but you have to let them. "Maybe he can stay for another year" or "Maybe he should finish the season" is not the way that works. If the supporters, media an board create an atmosphere in which his job is conditional, the players smell that whether they want him to stay or not
His job should not be a matter of discussion and that's up to the board. Arteta has had a huge impact because the board didn't give in. Van Gaal and Ten Hag are huge impact managers, Mourinho and Ragnick to a lesser degree too, United has failed them, no the other way around. It's a more general PL problem, but the regular sackings of managers like that is normal undermines the impact managers the most. If all clubs would believe it would be ridiculous to just ack a manager mid season because of a few losses the media would not gain any momentum with their stories, the players would make the chemistry their responsibility and the football played would be much better.

@@DenUitvreter I agree with keeping ten Hag and the practice of discussing his job after every result is disgusting and annoying. And I agree that the manager sacking obsession is ridiculous. My original point is derived from sport science that I have read. LVG, EtH, Pep, Klopp, Anceloti, all need good players to have good results. Recruitment is key. Recruitment is not necessarily in the hands of the manager even though they play a part. So the idea of changing managers and expecting dramatic change in results is a false premise. Furthermore, the idea that United are going to “turn a corner” this season is as well. They could improve form, luck could certainly get better, but until United get better players, the results will only be so good.

I feel your pain. Supporting this team is stressful, but as I have always said, we can't keep blaming the Managers. We did it when Louis van Gaal was there, repeated the same thing with Mourinho, and continued that trend till now with Erik ten Hag. Please let us see and look through this thing.
The only set of people who have gotten a pass are the players. We blame them and still keep them in the team. The team got so bad that Erik had to bring players from our Youth team because the 'SUPPOSED' big players were a bloody waste.
And now we want to sack another Manager who has done the best with what he's got, bearing in mind that he hasn't been given as much time as the others, coupled with having his best defenders injured, is downright unfair to me. We need to stop complaining about the Coaches.
Yes, call them out on their bad decisions, but we should focus more on changing most of the players in the club because we have babies rather than devoted men with a winning mentality.
Big shout out to you bro, I love your content and coverage on the club.

    - Sancho saga

    -Greenwood situation
    -Antony situation.
-board that was skint and wouldn't give him the players he really wanted. Subsequently Having to have 3rd choice loan deals . Weghorst, Amrabat, Regulion etc..
-A player who won't press because he thinks he is better than what he is (Rashford)
    - A fitness department who haven't got a clue (Martinez back to soon, believing Shaw and malacia will be back fit)
    - changes having to be made for makeshift positions due to horrendous injuries .
    - Martial injury.
The above is just scratching the surface!

Sure Solskjaer has just come out and said once he got the job full time players wanted to leave and gave up. Yet here we are backing the players again getting ready for a repeat cycle while the players see out their careers at United. Ten hags signings haven’t been too shabby mount not really played Antony ok hasn’t been great but has a bit of fight in him and will run for the cause unlike rashford. Casemiro unsure if he was ten hags signing but it’s ended where we knew it would the same as the varane signing. Malacia looked good for the money we paid not played this season… Erickson was ok last season and was only a short term option. Onana starting to look good at times and has had to face a lot of shots this season in his 1st season. This season we’ve been riddled with injuries and until the final few minutes last night looked like we’d turned a 2-0 deficit around. I honestly think to be in 6th and hopefully a f.a cup final with the injuries and early season circus we had isn’t too shabby. I agree he needs to turn things around and we need to see some sort of playing style but he hasn’t had all his signing on the field at any one time this season. Sometimes you need to look at the bigger picture and sometimes patience does pay off.

How on earth is he not able to correct the midfield structure. Injuries are no excuse. We need to see the structure first, because if I am in charge of recruitment, I definitely don't know the type of players to get for him because he has shown not style of play except the open game he does every week.

There’s always an excuse with Ten Hag: Injuries, fit, structure etc.
We can’t play a certain way because X is injured, Y was bought by this manager for this purpose. Spurs brought in Postecoglou who overnight transformed a team who under Conte were pragmatic defending deep, often with a back 3 to a ridiculously high press. Ten Hag has been in charge for almost 2 years, there’s no semblance of playstyle…
If we take that away, say Ten Hag has been dealt a bad hand and has credit in the bank let’s look at this year. Weekly we concede goals from cutbacks, weekly we have no control in games due to the massive gap between midfield and defence, weekly we concede 20+ shots on goal. These are either by design or the current coaching team are unable to coach it out of them, which is more concerning? When we had a fully fit team on opening day we got battered by a Wolves side who had only just hired their manager.
Ultimately, this reminds me of an NFL team hiring a new General Manager. They might inherit a coach but ultimately they haven’t hired him. The football this year has been atrocious, we make the same mistakes weekly and can’t control a game, a clean break is needed. The argument for keeping Ten Hag has been it’ll cost to sack and there’s not a slam dunk appointment to be made. Compensation shouldn’t get in the way of doing the right thing and really who’s going to be available next season who isn’t this summer?
