    Have some shame Stevie, how are you a pundit and getting your facts wrong on tv. Chelsea haven't beaten teams that are being relegated, in fact they drew against Burnley and Sheffield, but beat Everton 6-0, their biggest loss of the season, West Ham 5-0, biggest victory over their London rivals, 2-0 against Tottenham, that's a double over the number 5 club. Give Chelsea some credit already

  • @420_Emissary
    @420_Emissary Před 11 dny +1

    Time is just what this team needs. Time with each other and time with Poch. Klopp's gegen-pressing didn't set in instantly nor did Pep's tiki taka. No manager will do any better with this team. It's just the growing pains of a young squad. Tactics may not be visible in every game, no consistency, chemistry and cohesion missing etc. We forget that even the best of players need to be settled not only on the field but off it too. New players, new environments and new surroundings. A new culture and homestead, add to the mix that the majority are youngsters too makes it difficult to adapt immediately. Sure, people will always point to the amount spent and mention that it should be relative to the success but this is a unique scenario. Boehly and co. not only invested in the first team but largely the potential second team which are either out on loan youngsters (Datro Fofana, Gabriel, Santos, Washington, Hutchinson etc.) or backups (Cucurella, Petrovic, Lavia, Ugochukwu, Chukwuemeka etc.). They tried to condense five years worth of work, scouting and development into a short space of time. Every time we sack a manager the whole process resets, this is essentially our first year under Poch, including different players once again. Projects like these need time to breathe. Sadly us football fans are impatient. Klopp, Pep and Arteta all had mediocre first seasons in charge with a somewhat more stable group of players and backroom operations than what we have had for the past couple of years. We probably have the most experienced and emotionally adept coach to deal with this core. No other manager will have the patience to handle this group as well as Poch has, period. Most coaches would constantly complain about the inexperience, scrap the project, start again with new players and thus the cycle continues yet Poch is dealing with it well enough. He understands that it's a process. Forget comparing him to his Spurs days, we're a basket case of a club at the moment where even the most tactically astute would suffer. The team speak highly of his man management. For a squad of this size, it's commendable that he's held the team together as well as maintain morale throughout. No other coach would deal with a young group and still give the likes of Golding, Gilchrist, Matos and Castledine a chance. Added to his push to build an English core of James, Chilwell, Colwill, Palmer and he's constant appreciation of Gallagher, he is probably the one person at the club who is striving to maintain Chelsea's recent traditions. Give this team and coach three years, same spine of players, no major overhauls then we can truly assess what we have.

    The difference between Potter and Poch is.... Poch had way more injured players in his time than Potter and yet won more matches and did better, this is what made Potter lose his job. Injury is unfair to good managers but Poch managed. I rest my case

    Stevie, you gotta give them credit for their recent form in a chaotic season, with the youngest squad with formidable potential, and the exquisite and elegant Cole Palmer leading the precocious talent by example. The only way is up for them next season, at least top 4, maybe champions!

    Credit to Forest they had a game plan that made it very difficult to play our game. There was no space in midfield for Cucurella to operate. Poch tweaked the setup and returned Cucurella to traditional LB to maintain shape- CHO was class though, what a player 😮‍💨... Forest were smelling blood and their players started relaxing their shape allowing us expose space that we never had in the first 70min. That's what allowed Reece the space to run it and cross to an unmarked Jackson.
    All in all I'm proud that the boys never gave up. There's been a real shift in mentality from this team. 4TH BEST FORM RECORD SINCE BOXING DAY! NEXT SEASON WE EATTTTTT

    In the last four out of if five games in the league in which we have Enzo out we got 6:0 against Everton( who beat Liverpool after that),5:0 against WH and two full remontadas away against Villa( robbed by VAR) which are kind of still 4th and Forest now. But ofc someone like Steve will remember only the disaster against Arsenal with Enzo on the pitch.

    ESPN have to bring in some fresh blood on their panel someone who actually is somewhat objective! Since Boxing day 2023 only Arsenal, City and Liverpool have won more points than Chelsea and only City have lost fewer league games. If that isn't some signof progress then what else is it?! Clowns like Stevie conveniently skip context when talking about results, Chelsea had like 13 players out for the Arsenal game and Poch inexplicably didn't play our first choice centre backs or fullbacks, Palmer was also out with an illness. Imagine Arsenal without Saka, Gabriel, Saliba and Ben White playing away from home I'd reckon they find it hard to win too!

  • @jimwilson-kl2xs

    REECE JAMES IS GENERATIONAL! iNJURIES HAS BEEN ROBBING US OF AN ALL TIMER!
    The highlight today was the quality of performances we could have had all season with key players being fit and available. Our mental fortitude as regards coming back from behind of recent as been impressive. It shows this team have the stones to get results when it matters, sad we didn't have this much earlier.
    One has to give credit to players like Caicedo who's contributions in the team can be overshadowed by prettier performances from forwards like Cole Palmer. His off the ball work is superb, and his on the ball ability; technical ability, ball distribution, is top notch.
    The likes of Sterling and Nkunku need to be starting the rest of the games, we need to start and finish games strong, not chasing a win at the 80th minute with the likes of Mudryk and Noni being subpar for a huge chunk of the game.

    Actually the wins in this run have included Newcastle, man United, Tottenham, West ham, Everton, Palace and forest, also included are draws away at both City and Aston villa, 26 points in the last 13 games, the dropped 4 points against Sheffield United and Burnley ironically are the worst results. Arsenal was a bad result but is an outlier.

    The improvement is in the performance.. the collective effort in defending... moving the ball quickly... movement with and without the ball is more in sync than before. This is what you analyse as a pundit not just scorelines. These PPL are such clowns 😂😂
