Currently working on a Nick Diaz Highlight video, definitely stay tuned for that!
Nick > Nate
Nick just has that world class experience over Nate
Omg yes can it be called something dope like your titles usually are like nick Diaz making people do triathlons and failing miserably or something about his cardio huge fan of your work dude keep it up
God bless you for that !
@Martial Liam awesome as usual. I really like the fights/fighters you pick. Can you do one on Edson Barboza crazy striking skill? That’s certainly worth your editing skills.
what song you gonna go with..... ?
Nick was a zombie combo-machine. Jab, right to the body, jab again, right cross followed by 5 body shots. Jesus Christ. The MMA game has progressed a lot since, but he made that style work.
Nick was one of the first people to weaponize cardio. You see guys like Max and Colby do it now but Nick would just touch you with those combos and poor it on you and make you quit
He was a great volume puncher and you really don’t see that often in MMA. Most guys throw everything they have into each shot, but the Diaz brothers understand that every little punch adds up, especially mentally.
@@bizmonkey007 Good footwork too, stayed just out of BJ's range, never over committed on shots, just used his range and cardio.
He made that style work back when that style worked. Everyone knows not to gas out now. Honestly i hope hes improved alot considering hes fighting soon.
@@anthonyhewitt9397 dude...
he pretty much invented that fighting style. The first one to figure it out was Carlos Condit, with foot work and leg kicks. Then GSP.
That fighting style is still very effective but you also need, to check kicks and defending takedowns. Max Holloway is the perfect example: Granitt Chin, amazing takedown defense, insane cardio, insane pace, and also has a kicking game.
Nick lacks takedown defense and he doesn’t check kicks. If Nick has developed these two, he would still be a top 5 contender.
Headbutting BJs jab and then slapping away his arm like that was next level 👀
Next level CTE, maybe
@@augusthands9932 true, but they all have/are going to have CTE unfortunately. You have to admit that was badass on Nick Diaz's part in the moment though. The dude is tough as nails.
@CT gtfoh ..
Didnt bj break his hand cause of that?
That was some real west coast gangster ish! For the idiots saying Nick has CTE are wrong. Nick is brilliant when it comes to MMA. Just because he's not a college grad doesn't make him an idiot or means he suffers from CTE, morons.
This was a brutal fight...BJ was never the same
I agree a bit like Rory vs Robbie.
@The Nightmare BJ picked the worst fights at the worst weight class lol. He should've hung around 155, I could've seen him beating an RDA or a Pettis for the belt again.
@Emerson Amaya Frankie beat him, yes, but Frankie is another undeniable all time great, and there's no shame in that. I also thought BJ won the first fight against Frankie.
@@hardnewstakenharder Penn is one of the biggest wastes of talent in MMA. He never trained particularly hard and his diet consisted of eating hotdogs for the most part, yet the fact he got as far as he did with an undisciplined attitude towards training and his diet is truly remarkable. I know the whole 'motivated BJ Penn' is a mythical fighter and considered a meme amongst fans, but Penn at his absolute best could have had an MMA record of 30-6 instead of 16-14-2, a W over GSP, would not have lost to Frankie (at least the first time) and gone down as an all-time great.
@Emerson Amaya Prior to his first fight with Frankie, BJ did look invincible at 155. That's why Penn was an enormous favourite against Edgar in their first match and the result was considered a huge upset even if it was controversial.
Those body shots are more devastating than most people know. Props to Penn for even standing after those
I grew up with him being impressed by his performances and influence on MMA culture.
he's far from my favorite fighter, but god damn PJ is the true embodiment of a fighter in my brain.
Everyone knows body shots are effective.. Chill dude. This isnt the 1950s
@@_timetravels4528 BJ rules, inventor of anyone, anytime, any place.
they look sloppy any boxer would laugh at those looping sloppy shots he has pillow hands he has great cardio so he's able to stay in the fight and take brain damage
Penn was always overrated
The day a Nick and Nate Diaz movie comes out will be the greatest day ever
Lol why, their lifes not that great 🤣🤣
Oh yeah. But if its a movie they have to put in the unabomber rumor.
Jake Gyllenhaal as nick 🔥🔥
That would be a sick movie tho. Growing up in the hood, trying to avoid gangs and training to be the greatest in the world.
Played by non other than, Danny Trejo as Nick Diaz, and Benicio del Toro as Nate Diaz.
A lot of people forget how f*cking good BJ Penn was, which makes this win even better for Nick.
He was very very good at standing still like a fuckin parking meter and eating about 275 strikes and only moving his head to look at his corner and say, "the fuck man" after Nick landed 45 consecutive unblocked shots lol.
Like. If he REALLY wanted to he would train cardio. Spend a LOT of time in a clinch where his lower center of gravity and shorter arms would have made for a very large advantage.
But, pssshhhhhh, nah.
What a dumb game plan right?
Fuck closing in space on the orangutan sporting an 8" reach advantage to avoid these 17 hit combinations from edge of the plate. FFS. BJ literally couldn't even hit him from where Nick was.
Like. He really did expect to sleep that man on one good slip and counter.
Damn. BJ definitely had a good plug on goooooood drugs cuz that was bonkers lol
This is post-Frankie-Edgar BJ Penn, when he seemed to have lost the warrior spirit.
@@teddycoons2976 you love to hear yourself talk im sure
key word---- WAS. BJ wasn't the same by the time this fight happened, not even close. He was a punching bag. If you were impressed by this version of BJ idk what to tell you
Well, just for the record first American to get Gold at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
Was UFC Lightweight World Champ with 3 successful title defenses.
Beat Matt Hughes in his PRIME to win the UFC Welterweight Championship.
Holds the record for All-Time UFC Lightweight Defenses.
Only fighter to win both the UFC Lightweight AND Welterweight titles becoming the second of seven fighters in UFC history to win titles in 2 weight classes.
Only combatant to record stoppage victories in each of the available five rounds (All of which occurred in Championship fights)
Fought at Featherweight, Lightweight, Welterweight AND Middleweight (even taking Lyoto Machida 3 rounds) He fought nothing but killers and up til the Diaz fight, he had only lost to Frankie Edgar, GSP and Matt Hughes since 2005.
I clicked to enjoy seeing Nick do this again, and what I also saw this time was the heart of BJ Penn. He must have known early how fucked he was with Nick's reach advantage, relentlessness, and phenomenally accurate striking. But he fought through, successfully closed the distance on occasion, and busted Nick up pretty good (not that that means too much). But new respect for BJ. Still a bit more for Nick, however . . . . .
Yeah it’s almost as incredible to watch BJ show the heart of a warrior and not even go down 1 time from the punches.. insane I wish people nowadays showed more respect to BJ he is truly a legend of the game.
those diaz brothers bleed after putting on baseball caps..they cut easily is what i mean
@@OldSchool82 Like Nate said, "Blood don't hurt."
Bj is a beast bro
If BJ knew he was at a disadvantage standing and striking why didn't he close the distance to nullify his reach advantage or take to the ground?
*That time I put a striking clinic on a drunk BJ Penn outside a bar*
Lmaooo
Didn’t that dude get destroyed after I penn got up?
@@ruendisblanco1420 yes. BJ was dicking around and got caught by a larger man.
@@LeftHookLegend bj lost the fight right then and there. Sad to watch. But the war was still up for grabs.
Frank reynolds aka the trash man
Always like seeing the Diaz brother’s boxing coach in the background. He’s always cheering behind them.
Nobody in MMA seems to throw combinations like Nick Diaz.
max holloway
@@tonydavis5032 now he does. Nick was one of the first to use combos like that.
These combinations look ugly as hell
@@goldtiger9453 bet he beats yo ass tho
@@goldtiger9453 wtf are you talking about these are beautiful combos!!!
4:22 this has to be most nick diaz thing to do ever 😂love it. my all time favourite fighter
What the hell. The corner should have thrown in the towel at the end of r2. That was just someones dad getting the shit beat out of him.
all for it when the dad abuses his wife
😅
@No Name www.google.com/amp/s/www.mmaindia.com/ufc-hall-of-famer-bj-penn-accused-of-abuse-by-mother-of-his-children-slapped-with-restraining-order/%3Famp
According to several articles I’ve found, it is alleged that Penn is a lifelong cokehead, abusive father and husband, and all around douchebag. In the article I posted, his wife mentions he used fight camps to get sober over and over again. And people get on Jon Jones for doing blow and being a lunatic but some of the shit I find on the internet about these fighters makes Jones look like a 15 year old with his first beer.
@@Marfmellow88 just because we don't know anything else but fighting doesn't mean we are all some type of alien people. Humans stick to what they're good at, physicist do this, people of trades do this, athletes of all variety do this, even accountants just have really solid mathematics. If you wonder what type of people fighters are, go join a local gym and I bet you will meet some of the most interesting and chill people.
THQ's Undisputed 3 menu, "I don't think George is hurt, I think he's scared."
Woulda been cool
His boxing is just soo good he breaks opponents down with body shots and never let’s them breath! Wow just beautiful striking and his accuracy is insane we have never seen his style since then that’s why people still love nick he is soo unique 🔥
@Emerson Amaya nick fought on whole different weight class ma man his opponents powers are different! He even fought silva at 185! I like max but he can’t even handle 155 power
@Emerson Amaya why you hating dude 😂 go watch nick vs kj noons 2, paul daley, cyborg, gomi the list goes on nicks stand up is phenomenal and he fought against killers with serious power who could take your head off haha I am taking nothing away from max i like him too but we all know he wouldn’t make it with the big boys just because he can’t handle the power! you can’t compare him to nick cause they fought different competition. He is great in his division!
Nahh silva fight was great i loved it.
@@johnasyogarajah7204 well nick has a better chin then max but max is just a better striker who does the same pressure heavy style
@Emerson Amaya Dustin punished max. I love max and he’s one of my favorites but he’s right
I like Max...but No one beat nick Diaz in a stand up fight unlike Max ✌️
Just rewatched Nick Diaz vs Takanori Gomi just a few minutes ago then this pops up
The algorithm comes through!
You should watch Penn Vs Gomi also
Diaz vs Daley
Most intense round of MMA I have seen
@@IllIIIllIIIllII people have the nerve to say it was a early stoppage, daley literally body slams the floor is so funny, my fav mma fight behind nick vs robbie lawler
Nick Diaz is one of the greatest Welterweights of all time. His Strikeforce Era was something special. Can’t wait for the General to return. 💯👊🏽 209 📍
Bro there was nothing better then Nick Diaz title defenses in Strike-Force. The KJ Noons rematch, Cyborg, and Paul Daley fights are all classics and still some of the most exciting/watchable MMA fights TO THIS DAY!💯
I'm not so sure a return is what we need
@@pie579 The daley fight has to be the best mma round ever fought.
holy crap what a fight that was.
This channel is really something special, capturing important moments in MMA history for those of us who are new to the sport or those of us who just want to relive the events of fighters' lives. Those videos where you showcased the evolution of Rose and Gaethje's styles were extremely well done and it's hard to find compilations like those elsewhere on this site. I often have to go out of my way to hunt down old pro or amateur fights that don't seem to show up anywhere anymore.
BJ retired in the post fight interview saying something like "I can't go home looking like this. I have kids"
Then he kept fighting and getting even more damaged😔
Love when he slaps his jab away
And then proceeds to headbutt the jab
Holloway's style and even some of his fights like with ortega look so similar to this. He really took a page out the diaz book and applied in well in this new generation of fighters
Yeah Holloway is like the 3rd Diaz Brother low key
I saw a comment abt how this was put together and want to agree it's very well edited and storytelling, almost like a ufc video, I completely comprehend the entire situation
The way you put this video together was awesome. Super entertaining keep it up 👌
I’ll say it again, these fight edits are very polished, well done.
Nick Diaz will always be my favourite fighter.
Nates better
ive never seen nick fight i was too young but holy shit nick is a fucking savage
Study up, young buck. Nate’s great, but Nick was a superstar in his day, definitely the more skilled (or at least more accomplished) of the two.
Not too late Nick fights Robbie Lawler in his long awaited return.
@@alwayzchillin0714 fr im so hyped for it
Thank you for such nice editing!
Amazing fight cant find it nowhere on the internet thanks for the upload
Love these videos mind, Greatly presented!
BJ had the better pop in his fists, but Nick's ability to stay busy and string combos BJ just couldn't match. Was a treat to watch live, he laid a whoopin on him.
Great fight, great athlete and a great vid 👌 good job man
It's me S Kabir
Nick will always be a legend.
Love your channel
BJ should've retired after the Frankie rematch
Yeah or this fight, the Rory McDonald fight was just unnecessary and after that it was all downhill.
he should have retired after mickey avalon laid a smooch on him during his ring-walk
agreed, he fought waaay past his prime... kinda tainted his legacy IMO people only remember the beatdowns he took and getting knocked at a bar.
habits needed fulfilling
Nick Diaz is deceptively fast. He fights like Makoto from Street Fighter III: Third Strike.
Makes it all the more fascinating just how awkward Nick and Nate are throwing their punches.
Hes fast because he doesnt tense his body 100 percent for his strikes, until he knows hes getting you forsure. He used a dangerous style of using his opponents energy against them.
Nick used to play a lot of street fighter, frank shamrock said in during his walkout to one of his old strikeforce fights, think it might've been cyborg...
Damn a lot of people know about 3rd strike lol
@@yomi_jeremy3964 Third Strike is God Tier, homie lol
This edit style is great! Feels like we went back in time :)
One of my favorite fights from Nick Diaz
Best mma youtube channel out there
The day BJ Penn went up two weight classes and took on one of the best WW’s in the world. Very few guys had the balls do did what BJ did, get in the cage with the best at 4 diff weight classes. Could of stayed at LW and dominated the division but decided to go up and face GSP, in his prime, and arguably had one of the best performances against him. BJ wasn’t a big LW either (only 5’9) yet he still went up to WW & MW. Eventually beating Hughes at WW being the first two division champ in the UFC. Most champs now a days much rather comfortably fight at a weight they cut down 30+ lbs to give them the weight and strength advantage of the division, but refuse to go up a weight class and fight guys their size. There’s too much of an emphasis now on not losing a fight, much like boxing, instead of guys just trying to beat the best. You got champs defending their title against the number #7 or #10 ranked in the div, then their manager and the UFC selling the fight like it’s going to be their toughest opponent...and these fans fall for it every time. Wish we had more fighters who were interested in beating the best no matter the size diff, instead of worrying about the second number in their record. It would actually help the UFC sell more PPVs, instead of cherry picking their champs MU’s so they can market them as “unbeatable”
So much this , its Like the era of gladiators is over and now we are witnessing the sport going vanilla mainstream cookie cutter pro League
Its so sterile these days , less trash talk , less unbalanced fights , less underdogs imo
Martial Liam does better titles for his video then the Official UFC CZcams Channel
The funny thing about the diaz brothers is if I work half as hard as they do in a day I would sound way worse during an interview. When I’m tired I just ramble and don’t give a fuck what I’m saying.
Nick is a man of few words in front of the cameras, Its not everyones gig. But man, one of my all time favorite fighters. So glad to see him back
Subscribed and all I watched/read was the title of the video so far lol
Like a ship trying to make headway in the Bering Sea against a big swell....they just keep on coming
George smiled like a kid in class who told on you watching you get in trouble when Dana said nick wasn’t fighting him anymore
awesome great vid tks
This channel is 🔥 ML Lets go!
You should one of your voice over for nick diaz that would be badass
I remember watching this live and didn’t know weather to be more impressed with Nick totally dominating or BJ taking 15 minutes of a continuous beating
This was one of the best fights I've ever watched
Jkd got me into MMA a few years ago ("use what works from any style" IS what they do in MMA). Nick is one of the fighters I wanna see fight the most and I've only seen Nate fight live
Well done Liam 🍺
These were the best days of MMA .
I hated this era
Yeah just 2 events later we got Shogun vs Henderson and then the next 2 were Jones vs Machida/Mir vs Nogueria 2 and Lesnar vs Overeem/Nate vs Cowboy. One of the greatest years ever in MMA/UFC idk wtf buddy☝🏼is even talking about!😂
@@goldtiger9453 what was a good era to you then?!?!? 2011 was probably the best year of MMA I can remember, so many great fights that year, remember it began with UFC 125 Edgar vs Maynard 2!? That shit was incredible.
@@pie579 this era now is the best. Everyone is very technical and more athletic. Most of the striking from the old eras looked so sloppy.
@@aa-ot3cg yeah but UFC isn’t as focused on selling the fighters/fights properly. It still seems kinda flat and watered down compared to the Anderson Silva/GSP era.
Nick is one of my favorite fighters
cardio, grit, and a sprinkle of skill.. all you need. Always an exciting, competitive fighter
Realy good video. Can you make video about Max Holloway?
Hell of a fight!
Instantly liked.
Love the start of the 3rd round ref couldn't even keep them apart as soon as he said fight nick was throwing
Definitely one of my favorite fights. It was like a boxing match in a cage.
Love the volume punching...
The Godfather of volume striking. The scariest strikers weaponize pace. Holloway, Diaz brothers, prime Ferguson land more and last longer compared to the majority of their opponents.
6:55 the feint straight to open up the lead body hook, so clean
i’m here strictly for nick diaz and nick diaz only
Super Dope Content 👌 🙌 👏 💯 🔥
Damn, good old days!
Sorry for not subscribing earlier man, I've been watching your videos for a while I really should have my bad
This will be one of the greatest stamina enduring fight and cleanest boxing technique performance we've ever seen from a fighter.
God damn, I know this video is supposed to highlight how impressive Nick's mma boxing, relentlessness, and volume punching were against BJ, but around 7:40 in the video, the way BJ was throwing back despite being 100% exhausted is fucking inspiring, what a warrior!
Thanks
Hard video
G-d damn, BJ is tough as nails. Much smaller guy with heavy hands, fast hands, ultra chin, ultra proprioception, just needed the god given cardio that Nick was blessed with. BJ hit Nick with a later fight body shot that looked like it launched him back 3 feet.
Oh and BJ had tons of heart and toughness
"I'm not impressed by your performance, but I look forward to fighting you in the future" -GSP
Ooof, this was a good watch.
I'd drink a beer with either of these guys. Brutal slugfest for sure, those are some tough guys.
This was an epic contest
Diaz Sr was really something to watch man... what a champ
I think Dana forgets that the Diaz brothers will fight with a 12 hour notice man not 6 days or 2 months the night before the fight and Nick has done that exact thing and WON.
The Diaz brothers punches remind me of a cat striking. It's so fast but you don't realized that the pawing fucks you up until it's too late
Nick diaz and bj penn are actually very good friends outside the octagon
Nothing can beat the good'ol mano amano.. Even its in MMA..
4:22 at that moment I think bj knew he was in for a war 😂 nick landed 257/436 punches on bj penn and bj became a different fighter afterwards.
This is like one of those ‘wing chun master challenges boxer’ videos
This reminds me of the last fight you have at beginner before you move up difficulties in fighting games....
My favorite UFC fight ever!! Watching this live was completely insane. This might not seem like that impressive of a win to a lot of the newer “casual” fans who only know BJ Penn for his losing streak, but this was the beginning of the sad downfall of BJ. At the time of this fight BJ Penn had just had a draw with #2 welterweight Jon Fitch and was a win or 2 away from a 3rd fight with GSP. After this fight BJ was never the same, and right after he took an even more vicious 3 round beating from Rory McDonald.. those 2 beat downs back-2-back I think really did some permanent damage to BJ, he never had the same heart or will to fight since :(
that's the nick diaz i wanna see return!
I love both Diaz brothers, but, B.J looked exhausted the moment the bell rang for the first round.
BJ didn’t have the cardio for 170
I remember watching this live
I never liked BJ Penn but man was that guy tough. He honestly should've retired after this fight.
The Diaz brothers never have been the absolute best or most technical fighters
on the Planet, but they never stopped being legit
Badasses .
You can literally hear someone telling him to call out George at the end of the fight and continues to tell him what to say and nick puts it in his own words and does exactly what he’s told to do which actually surprised me because there are some people you just can’t tell what to do and we’re just a rare breed including military
BJ Penn is one of my favs bit Diaz has been a legend in his own too
Boxing* masterclass 👌🏽
I love their silent agreement to just stand and bang
That nick vs masvidal was the fight we really deserved
You should do one of these for Nate vs Cerrone
Body body ! To the Body again !iconic
I remember at the time this was the record for punches landed in the ufc
2:20 why wasn’t his double end bag filled? Is there a specific reason?
Those Diaz bros lit up this sport
Bj is one tough sob he kept firing after eating like 200 punches
this is almost a boxing match
