" it's a cute game now" 😆 Such an Oakley thing to say. Salute.
You probably don't even know what's up 🤣😂😂
He was a scrub. And now he is bitter much like most if the 80’s and 90’s players. The league is in a good place now with better athletes than there have ever been.
He is right all sports are watered down soft
@@tonyjackson8941 nah. he is bitter. much like u.
A Cleveland legend. Nothing but respect for an honorable man. Unlike Don King. The city remains very proud of you Mr. Oakley
Straight up!
Don King is a legend
Don was an enforcer
you're not proud of Don King?
Oakley is a real one and needs to be back in the league. Give this man a job, NBA!! He could have a positive impact on the young ballers.
Gay flag right in place
mj need'ta scoop him and put him on tha coach'n staff or sumthin...shid, eye kno we could damn sho uze him n memphis
Love they have Oakley on here! He is a definite Legend and a Beast on the court. He had and still has a presence.
Nba players are too sensitive
Him and Anthony Mason was the enforcers, I first saw Anthony Mason when he was a Tulsa Fast breaker back in the late 80's.
We need black OGs like Oak
Loved listening to this interview on Charles Oakley. He's right, I agree the game ain't the same. Those rivalries were ALL THAT ! We use to run home to see the Knicks dismantle teams in the 3rd quarter. To a time gone by💜.
I think free agency ruined the sports we new (not that sports are objectively bad now...just that it's not what it used to be). The first time I saw Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, and Ronnie Lott in non-49er uniforms, it started going downhill for me.
Players used to be invested in their teams. Now, their only investment is to the money. The current way is possibly better for the players' bank account, but I do miss those good ole days when a player was drafted by a team, and played for that team until retirement. 😪
⁹9⁹⁹⁹9⁹⁹
Mannnn! I used to live for those Knicks vs Bulls/Rockets/Pacers conference & finals matchups🤗 All Classic games for sure
nah. The NBA is better now.
Chef Oakley... Respect to this man. Enforcer for real since Chicago bulls and Knicks.
Growing up as a Bulls fans, we always loved Oakley,as he was Jordan’s protector! He was only here a few years but made a long lasting impression
and he’s still loved and appreciated in Chicago to this very day!
back in those days, I would never miss a Knick v Bulls game, that was guaranteed war
Good time.. 👍🏾
He talk like a boxer😂😂😂😂😂
I enjoyed this interview. This is a Real man. He gone say what he wants. No backing down
Right!!! 💗💗💗
Charles Oakley is an underrated big man, heʼs a *tough* big man.
A big, fine old man .
He wasn’t a great player.
@@tedwilliams185 go away
@@wizkid8205 when has Oak ever been considered great? When has he ever been a top 10 player in the NBA. Don’t worry I will wait.
Did Charles Oakley tell you that?
Few years ago new York Knicks disrespected this legend Charles Oakley wrongly
That was messed up!!
Dolan be wilin
Did it to Spike as well
Oakley isn’t a legend.
Man people use the work “legend” so loosely these days.
@@jrsmith1998 For NYC is definitely a legend.
Great interview! Charles Oakley is one of the toughest New York Knicks of all-time. He holds no punches! Hoping to hear more from him and I would love to read his book one day.
He’s not one of the toughest, he is the toughest New York Knick, hands down.
@@juliussonny8704 That's debatable because of Anthont Mason who might have been harder to deal with than Charles Oakley. Those are Oakley's words in the interview. Ewing was tough too. If someone says Oakley is the toughest Knick I'm not arguing that though. Just saying.

The 1990s NY Knicks were my favorite, I’m lucky to watch them play. Ewing,Oakley,Mason and Starks were the best knicks. They deserved a championship, too bad Michael Jordan was in the way. I’m definitely buying his book.
Too bad they choked against the rockets..
lol
@@thediseaseisthecure they didn’t chocked, rockets were a better team. Hakeem Olajuwon was great in that season.
Loved those knicks and the Houston sprewell camby ward era was fun
@@PeteGrk-eb5ck Knicks didn't choke.
Better man won. Dream was 🔥🔥🔥
He roasted my man Ewing and then beat a young buck Shaq. No shame in losing to the better man
Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs got in the Knicks way of winning a championship.
I met Oak personally in Atlanta a few years ago, we all talked for an hour or two. Realist dude you’ll ever meet, real good guy
10:00... anyone from Chicago knows that. Zeke was a St. Joseph's star. Legend in Chicago. His dream was to lift Chicago. But he was in Detroit, and in Chicago came this guy named Jordan. And close to that time, came the 86 Super Bowl with the Bears. Always thought he was a little salty about Jordan being the face of Chicago instead of the kid that did all he did at St. Joseph's. For the trade from the Bulls... Jordan was pissed about that, I remember like it was yesterday. The Bulls liked what they saw with a young Horace Grant but knew they needed a more dominant center for the triangle offense. So they traded Oak for Cartwright, Grant went into the lineup in his place and did really well.
I went to St. Joe’s and have the upmost respect for Zeke✊🏿
85 Bears Bro
@@mauricehooker874 You're right! :) Was thinkin' the year of the SB in 86. I don't know why I always think that but t was the 85 season. The funniest thing is that even with Jordan back then and maybe for part of their titles, Chicago was still a Bears city.
You speaking facts
"He won 6 rangs"...I miss my family....this is the conversations and the kinda talk we had after dinner on Sunday at my grandparents house on the porch! Preserve the culture yall!
I’m happy that you have things that remind you of the joy from early childhood but colloquial speech isn’t culture it’s the by product of a regional dialect maybe a subculture. If you take a look at East Indian Tradition, Latin America, West African rituals, Middle Eastern rituals ect. That’s culture technically speaking now if you were speaking about a particular language I’ll give you that 😆

Chicago still love the Charles Oakley to this day! Thank you! 💐💐 💐💐💐 💐 OAK really did help build the HOUSE!
Charles Oakley needs his own Podcast. He's Old School and keeps it real
Yeah. I would tune in to it.
Oakley is the Knick era that I loved. I loved basketball during that time.
Charles Oakley is a G. “Tell Shaq to do something” if he’s like this in 2022 how was he in the 90s, I see why him and MJ is best friends.
He was a beast.
Puhleeze he had chances to escalate situations with Shaq when they played in all those skirmishes they had.
But he knew to hesitate compared to other players
I love how a lot of the players he mentioned were Pistons from the Bad Boy era-a classic time!!

met OG Oak in Atlanta after a Atl United game. Bruh was just walking down the street with his grandkids and was cool as hell
I have new found respect for Charles Oakley after this very enlightening, honest interview.
One of the few NBA players you don't mess with
I was at the United Center in January of 2002 when Lakers came to Chicago. Given that Lakers was on top but Bulls won and not without dramatics. Shaq tried to swipe at Brad Miller. Barely missed. Oak and Artest tackles Shaq under the basket. If there was anyone in that Era could take down Shaq it would be Oak. Man had No Fear.
@SuperPunch76 for the early part of 01-02. Artest was part of a Blockbuster trade a month later that sent him Brad Miller and Ron Mercer to Indiana for Jalen Rose and Travis Best.
Grew up as a Pistons fan in the late 80s and 90s. I admit I didn’t care too much for Oak as a a fan but I respected his game and aggressiveness on the court. Him and Anthony Mason (rip) were two dudes you didn’t want to have smoke with on the court.
Yeah. They called Anthony Mason "The Beast". I remember he had that cut into his hair.
Don’t forget Xavier McDaniel
Best interview so far this year... I'm a baller but i don't even watch sports but I know who oak is. #Legend.
@AUDREY Stop sending this mess
Damn that grown man energy was heavy and appreciated Charles.
I was watching Oak play a long time ago..He stepped to the free throw line, referee threw him the ball early. Oak threw the ball back on live TV and said "I ain't ready, wait till I get ready" 🤣🤣

Big LaSalle Thompson, with the Kings, Pacers, etc, a equal to Oak, was a Frontline Center/Power Forward enforcer during mid/late 1980s and early/mid 90s, a man who had respect around the league also, very Wes Unseld like with the rebounding and post interior defense in his spot starting role playing
One of the best interviews yet!

I absolutely LOVED this interview! I also loved that basketball era so, I really could relate. Charles seems to be soooo genuine and a loyal friend. I’m buying his book!
Charla- That was such a great question when you asked Charles if he was torn between his Nicks teammates and Jordan whenever he would witness Jordan get ruffed up by someone. (I didn’t say it verbatim, but you know what I mean)

Oaktree! I've watched the Jordan Era in real time. Oaktree was more than an enforcer. Yes it was his claim to fame but he had great basketball IQ, a nice jump shot, good defender & a good rebounder. In 2k he would have the HOF Intimidator badge 😄

Charles was 109% correct when speaking about why they never won a championship with having Ewing as their go to player on the team. He could never deliver the points they needed when it came to the playoffs. I was a Ewing fan for years, especially since he is a fellow yardie.🇯🇲
Ewing just needed another true scorer with him .
