🎥VIDEO: *Getting Ready For Your Motorcycle Driving Test
• Getting Ready For Your...
*You MUST
- supply a vehicle for the driving test that is consistent with any restrictions noted on your learner permit
- be insured to ride it
- display a valid, original motor tax disc
- produce your vehicle registration certificate
- wear all the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), i.e. helmet, gloves, boots and weather-gear
- have L-plates no less than 15 cm high in red on a white background and in good condition, on the front and back of a yellow fluorescent tabard worn over your outer clothing
- make sure bike is in good conditions
- The minimum limit of tyre tread is 1mm, however we would always recommend that tyres are changed before they reach their minimum tread depth
- have Vehicle Registration Certificate / Licensing Certificate of your motorcycle showing its engine size and power output. If these documents do not show the original power output, which is often the case for imported vehicles, then you must bring written proof on headed notepaper from a relevant dealer or official importer showing the particular make of motorcycle and it's registration number
- If your vehicle is restricted, have proof of Restriction on headed notepaper from a relevant dealer or official importer of the particular make of motorcycle, showing the restricted KW output and the registration number. (Note, original KW output cannot be restricted by more than 50%)
- You must bring your own compatible radio earpieces (3.5mm Jack plug) with you to your motorcycle driving test.

I passed my driving test in ballincollig today and I have to say I had this video on repeat with the days prior to it. Very helpful video, it definitely benefitted me. Thanks for doing this video.
Well-done mate! Glad that you could pass the test and my video helped you! 😁
Top stuff, severe lack of videos on how to ride for the test, mainly people including me not knowing the checks before moving off, turns ect. A big help for my up coming test 🙌🏻
Really glad it helps you man! I had the same feeling before passing the test, trying to find any videos to make me feel better and less stressed for the day... but found none.... Thanks for the comment, safe ride and best of luck for the test!
Watched this video - since it was one of very few i could find on the Irish test - and crammed as much of the info as i could in a week, as beforehand i had no idea about all the extra observations needed outside of junctions and roundabouts.
Passed the A-category test today in Limerick and wanted to say thanks very much for posting. Without it i very possibly would have failed.
Thanks man
Congrats man for your test, welldone! I'm really happy my video could help you to highlight what is super important on the test day, for sure it would have helped me as I failed the first time due to minor things, and there was no similar video on youtube at the time. Hope it will help more new riders in their test.
Maybe we will cross each other on the irish country side roads someday! ;-) Thank you for your comment, very appreciated!
@@lafollyfamily Haha we may already have crossed paths. Damn helmets :D
...and thanks again. Hope this video gets out to more riders. I'll try spread it around.
@@bluesky868 yeah helmet doesn't help 🤣 thanks for sharing, feel free to ping me if you're riding around cork some days.
Congrats! Thank you.
Thank you!
Nice video, I'm sure people will find this very useful.
Thank you! Hope so too, as I couldn't find any similar video for bike 😉
Nice video man! Congratulations
Cheers bro
Im going to have to do this next 2 months, struggling with lifesavers and mirror
Good luck! practice on this track is the key, you will feel more comfortable for the test day. 😙
Great video. I have my test in a week so was great to watch! How did you put the GPS in the top right of the video? 😊
Thanks, glad you like it! You need to extract the gpx file and use it with Google earth pro. Good luck for your test! 🙂
Thank you for an Irish version of the test there’s fuck all on CZcams. Cheers 👍
Exact I couldn't find any around here... Glad it helps!
Where did the motorcycle hand signals come from?
On Google?
@@lafollyfamily so not realy reconised by the RSA ?
@@geraldfitzgibbon7428 correct, but internationally used and known by most bikers
@@lafollyfamily never seen most them b4. Iv been biking over 40 yrs
Thanks for video, but according my point of view too many mistakes: crossed the stop line and yield line (already failed on stop with re test), going to bus line too early, weaving the suv car on t-junction, I would say, to be honest, you have to fail with such approach
Thanks for the comment. The video is mostly here to help people to practice for the test, to know the track. It has been approved by IBT instructor, hence if any faults are being spotted, there are minors... Don't forget that quotas exists... 😉
Tend to agree, here's a good example of how beckoning other road users can get you to fail your test: czcams.com/video/lP74XGmjs5k/video.html
As for other mistakes it would be good to edit/comment on them for other people, just so they won't make them in their tests. Thanks for sharing anyways, there's surely lack of content for motorcyclists in Ireland.
@@okwilk totally agree, this part of road user behavior will make you fail your test. In this example, it would be needed to wait in your line for a time to pass, without gently telling the car to pass first . Tks for the comments lads
Actually bus lane there operates during time specified under the sign so I think it is fine to use it outside this time
@@TentandaOmniayes, 8:01 i see tye sign, says mon-fri 09-18.30, i don't know thr time where the video is taken, but could agree that defines the time frame of use/don't use that line, thanks
