Homelander pushing Ryan off the roof was one of the most shocking moments of the show. And definitely one of those moments you feel bad for laughing. S3, every time Ryan sided with Homelander I was like HE PUSHED YOU OFF A ROOF
Butcher said he hated the boy for killing his 'wife' when he was trying to save her. He said it in Ryan's face. Homelander was an actual good father. He comforted him, showed him he was still there, and not once put the blame on him.
Honestly you can talk all kind of evil stuff about Homelander. But he genuinely cares for Ryan.
Homelander knew that Ryan couldn't be hurt. It was his way of making him tougher in the inside. Becca was raising him to forget a part of himself that she had no right to put aside.

Then what? He's the only thing that can stop Homelander, he would have powers regardess of what happened, and the only reason he's turning evil is Becca's fault and her lack of vision and acceptance towards that part of him. Becca could've been a good mother? Sure, but for a normal child, and Ryan is definetly not normal.

She could have allowed him to explore his powers but she understandably chose to limit the possiblity of him becoming like Homelander. It's easy for us to say what is right or wrong because we're not in the situation. She made human choices given her circumstances.

i would do too honestly. He's an actor, for him it's a job and he's clearly having fun doing this (which is good, why would he bother his psyche about something that is 100% fictional? I like that he takes it all with a grain of salt. I don't want another Heath Ledger here).
So it's ok that he doesn't see those 'dark scenes' the way viewers/audience see them (as a ready 'product'). He prob only remembers the technical part of it, the fake blood, the pretend and the dozens of takes he did until the scene was done.

It really makes sense that in the previous seasons they said Tony was most like his character. Clearly for his dark sense of humor.
I’m a film major and it’s been shoved down my throat that safety is such a huge priority that’s ignored in today’s industry sometimes and it’s nice to hear that they allow so much prep time for the stunts on this show and they always turn out amazing.
I think we can all agree that whoever they hired to pick the cast for this show deserves the biggest raise. The have a perfect cast. Never seen anything quite like it.
I love that Anthony totally understands the humor of the show and thinks its hilarious.

Lol, I'm glad Antony Starr is really having fun doing this. Some of his scenes are definitely dark and disturbing but great for the show. He is definitely one of my favorite characters
We’re all lucky he sees the dark stuff with comedy.his characterization is so unpredictable, and unhinged that he is almost an antihero in the grand scheme of things.
I feel that the fact that he sees all the things that HL does as fun, just goes to show how committed he is to his performance and how great of a casting choice he is.
If you haven´t already, check out "Banshee", the show he was starring before The Boys.
It´s a super fun, crime-action thriller series, where he plays an ex-thief that assumes the identity of a small town sheriff and all kinds of crazy shieet happens, involving Amish gangsters, drug dealers, neonazis, a group of extremist Native Indians, colombian cartels, ukrainian mobsters, shady government agencies and what not.

It must be fun to be honest. Like, he's an actor and knows that that thing doesn't happen in real live. Like, the plane thing was just acting. Some actors need to "get into it" and probably the actress for Quedn Mave forced herself to feel the feelings that her character was having (an emotional breakdown to be clear) and probably messed with her mood for the day. Other actors can just play the character and as soon as the director says "cut" then it's over for them. I think that's the case for Antony Starr.
He also has a dark humour so it's inly logical he found the kid falling funny. Like, who hasn't haha
The flight 37 scene was what REALLY got me hooked. I liked the show a lot but then they hit me with THAT. Absolute masterpiece

Poor thing. I don't think he was originally cast in this video as he wasn't in the other seasons. I believe it would be Jack Quaid, but he is away because of Covid. In another video, Urban also took the place that was supposed to be Starr's and Ackles joked that his name was "Jack Quaid".

Yeah, I kind of feel bad for him - his whole speaking line in this 16 minute video was introducing himself. And then he just had to sit there silent, as the questions were about seasons 1 and 2. How awkward.
It reminds me of ''Remember when'' conversations when you're the new guy in a group of friends. In the words of wiseman Tony Soprano: ''Remember when'' is the lowest form of conversation.
It felt interesting watching Jensen in this. Because it felt like watching a Senior in a class of Freshmen due to the experiences they tell of what Kripke does with them. Since Jensen has been in that experience with Kripke for years prior so he knows Kripke's format and behavior well. It's almost like he's enjoying seeing something new, while also seeming a little homesick to the Supernatural set where he too would have familiarity moments with cast members to remember.

Homelander’s milk obsession was never explained, but it’s certainly interesting psychologically, given that the character was raised in a laboratory. I always expected flashbacks affording further explanation.

I like how interested and involved a lot of the actors are with the show and the story. It shows they really care about what’s happening instead of just being handed a script, told what lines to read and how to read them.
It's staggering the gesture and composure of Antony. Just shows how good of a character they all made of Homelander.

That plane scene with Homelander is killer. Imagine the shock if one of the versions of DC's Superman did that on a plane with everyone yelling to be rescued. Even the bad Christopher Reeve Superman or red Kryptonite Welling doesn't get that evil.

I saw Banshee when it was on and its an amazing show. So to see him as homelandee is a trip but perfect casting 👌

Banshee is one the best shows of all time. Wouldn't have discovered it if it wasnt for The Boys and seeing Tony Starr on it first.

12:19 I have to admit, so many people are talking about how Homelander’s taking over Anthony Starr at this moment but tbh, this made me realize Starr’s perspective in everything😂 Most of Homelander’s movement is very inactive, because he can do so much damage without moving much, compared to someone like Kimiko who has to learn all the complicated moves to all her fight scenes. Starr never gets to fully appreciate how crazy the scene is until it’s been edited😂 Then that little 2 meter, crash-pad fall becomes something so much more vicious and hilarious
I can’t wait for Jensen to be able to talk about Soldier Boy’s scenes 😂
