    It seem very similar to the AICS AT . Not sure if there will be other configurations and skins(snow,grey) more sturdy or only this first trial model?? Will they be available for fall before hunting or Christmas??

    If the 10 round Glock magazines are cheap, they might work well for indoor matches and training where they get dropped on concrete floors and stepped on a lot. Use them until they look questionable or won't drop free, and then toss them. Maybe keep the spring.
    Haven't bought a 10 round Glock magazine since before 2004, because they are usually a little more expensive.

    So much hate for the Pro 700!!! KRG are a very average chassis company and they charge $1300 for a R700 folding stock and they have nowhere near the amount of features the Pro 700 has. Pre-ordered mine for $850 from Brownells and ditching my Tikka T3's for a R700 custom build

    The new Magpul Chassis and the Geissele 700 trigger serve as an economical way to get into Precision Rifle sports. I'm thinking a Criterion Inc barrel to go along with. Anybody know of a good supplier for trued Remington 700 action.

    Why oh why does Magpul always design .308 bolt rifle stocks for AW pattern mags and not SR25 style mags?
    I have one mag style for .223 (AR-15), I only want one mag style for .308 (SR-25).
    I get it for 30.06 and .300 Win Mag since there isn't a standard but the AR-10 platform settled on the SR25...

    Anyone from Magpul reading the comments, you should do a Magpul 700 hunter with the PRS adjustments. It would take it to a whole new level, and still be affordable.

    • @pklc6054
      @pklc6054 Před 6 lety +9

      TheDavidG27 The point of buying a new chassis is to replace the old one with something different/better to your EXISTING RIFLE. Plus I'm pretty sure this is A LOT lighter than Ruger's chassis for their rifle. On top of that, Magpul added features they didn't have to add as well, but there is always that one guy (you) who has to complain just for the sake of complaining.

    • @I5ZQ8
      @I5ZQ8 Před 6 lety +6

      I have an RPR and I promise you that rife that he was holding will out shoot the RPR. This is going to be for the people doing surgeon actions and $4k plus builds. I would love that rife that he was holding.

    • @copperjarhead
      @copperjarhead Před 6 lety +3

      that's fine. no one buying that chassis is wasting money putting it on a ruger. not that rugers are bad, but you wont be dropping a stage three performance kit on a toyota corolla either. obviously this product was not made, or intended to be marketed to you, or those who share your concerns.

  • @Paelorian
    @Paelorian Před 6 lety

    The sales pitch claims it to be the most durable and high-performance suppressor cover on the market. It's probably true. But given it's 9.4oz weight, wouldn't a longer good M-LOK handguard that goes over the suppressor be more practical? Likely the same weight or less depending on materials. Still a great new product from Magpul as an over-the-suppressor handguard is often not an option.

    • @copperjarhead
      @copperjarhead Před 6 lety

      not if you need that can to come off, not to mention machine gunners will be using it too. they could have made it out of a lighter material, but to reach the goals of the testing standards to obtain a contract, and still have it at an affordable price point requires some compromise.

    • @nccrawford
      @nccrawford Před 6 lety

      I think you partially answered your own question... Over-the-suppressor options really don't exist for this platform. Current doctrine seems to be going the other way, unfortunately. "Operators" want rails that extend on the same plane as the receiver- this would necessitate an asymmetrical can and a CASV type system.

    • @Chad_Grimgravy
      @Chad_Grimgravy Před 6 lety

      Paelorian a handguard extending over the suppressor definitely looks better, but it turns into a massive heat sync and after a couple of mags, the front of your rifle gets too hot to hold. I learned that the hard way with a build a while back, not to mention that qd goes out the window if you go that route

    • @Paelorian
      @Paelorian Před 6 lety

      Chad Grimgravy If it fits under the handguard, why would you need to quickly detach it? It won't be adding length. Also, more than a few handguards themselves get too hot to hold after a few magazines. The solution is a vertical grip, perhaps a larger diameter handguard, and maybe a change of material, which should be enough to keep the rifle usable when firing any amount of ammo in a "real world" scenario (i.e. a couple mags at once rapidly, but not all the mags you can carry or more as fast as you can fire them). If Magpul can keep a suppressor cover cool to the touch, why can't a handguard do the same? It's easy to imagine a few tweaks, like a contact surface that doesn't transfer much heat, that would for a handguard that doesn't get hot. There are toilet seats that don't get cold to the touch in an unheated outhouse in the middle of the winter in the Alaskan interior.

      jjmckay6man1 way cheaper and a lot less features. Put it up against any other chassis with comparable features and it is very competitively priced. Especially for a side folder. Comparing the LSS to this chassis is like comparing Magpul’s hunter stock to an AICS chassis.

    wow... how many people do they think will buy that chasis at that price? nearly $1k?? and a suppressor shroud? that was their premier products for SS2018? mmkay Magpul, way to go~! and nothing in regards to featureless accessories to help those unfortunate 2nd amendment supporters in the unfriendly states.... thanks for helping us out Magpul... so instead of waiting around for you to introduce something new for featureless, I went ahead and just deleted all of the Magpul crap because its non compliant... Luckily, other company have stepped up and picked up the ball where Magpul dropped it. my rifle is now all Strike Industries who in my opinion have the most innovative line of products seen in recent years in this industry. So don't bother introducing something because its too late... Magpul in apparel now? lots of mannequins.... wait... why would i wear any magpul branded clothing if I don't even own Magpul anymore? way to go Magpul~!
