#16 Tubular & Saddler's Copper Rivets - Leather Work For Beginners

We cover the installation of rivets in this video. We look at the different types of rivet used in leatherwork, namely the tubular rivet and the saddler's or copper rivet. We show the techniques for determining the correct size of rivet to use and show the methods used to set the rivets.

Great video! I use both types in my leatherwork but I prefer to use the saddle rivets as well. I like the tubular (called rapid rivets here in the US) rivets for small projects that won't see heavy use. You did a great job describing the differences and strengths of each.

Hello. The compartment boxes I use are from a store called 'The Range' They have branches throughout the UK. Their size is 35.5cm x 22cm x 4.5cm. The hammer is a generic nylon/rubber headed hammer weight approx. 750g, available from any tool supplier/eBay. I hope this helps.
