Im just getting atarted but, Does the host (where the machine is housed) need to provide the machine with an ethernet or phone line for the machine reader or is the machine totally independent for communication with banks?
The device comes with communication already - credit card readers send information via cellular signal. So if you install a reader, you would not need any resources from the host account.

How's that antenna doing inside that metal machine cabinet?
Antennas normally get great reception from inside the cabinet. If the machine is an area with bad cellular signal, you can install a high-gain antenna on the outside of the machine.

Unfortunately, our card readers are best suited for snack and beverage vending machines. We recommend checking out PayRange, who are doing exciting stuff with cashless in the laundry space!

This works on machines that have MDB or DEX capabilities - most Japanese machines don't work with that, unfortunately.
Can this be modified to only take a prepaid card that we give individuals? The only reason why I’m asking is because I’m trying to set up a vending machine for homeless individuals to get supplies
These terminals usually can be set up in the way where they block credit cards, but that doesn't prevent anyone from using bank cards since both prepaid and bank cards usually are debit cards.

Once you purchase a card reader, we'll send you paperwork to fill out that links your bank account for direct deposit.
What does antenna send data to?
Credit card readers transmit data much like a cell phone, so an antenna can help them receive a better signal. For our Parlevel Pay Plus readers, that would mean the nearest AT&T or Verizon tower. Good rule of thumb: if your cell phone gets good service at the location, so will your credit card reader.
