    Your video was awesome! Kwikset's customer service was closed. Your point about hitting the lock button as you put the batteries in solved the problem I was having...the keypad was not connecting to the unit and it was not working at all. You rock!

    To put in more then one code you hit the program button for each code. So the first code you press it once, the 2nd code you press it twice and so on and so fourth.

    Hello. Sorry if this is redundant and someone has already mentioned it. Firstly you mentioned in this video that there are three small screws but you only need two to secure the battery side of the lock to the plate. Actually, there is third point at the base of the casing that needs to be secured, hence the third little screw. Lastly, thank you so much for this tutorial. When I unpacked my lock, the instructions I received were only in spanish. Just looking at the pictures did not explain well what to do. You were a lifesaver. Thanks!!!!!

    I have one.. Wish I would have seen this video in Sept. My very smart son installed mine into my apt door, but had to do so (on the interior) upside down. This was because the top hole on an apartment door only has an interior lock. The apt complex refused to let me install or cut a hole... until my super smart son installed on the bottom lock. So, I am about to change the code. I am guessing the batteries he inserted from the bottom up. And, once the default key is changed, it no longer works just as the code doesn't (when it is changed) is this correct? Wish me luck...

    By the way you can have up to 8 different codes between 4-8 #'s
    Also REMEMBER to CHANGE MASTER CODE
    I have the same locks the exact model as you and as you have stated you love it and so do I even I get at least 18 months on a set of batterys even during the winter months. I also have one on my external driveway gate I made but only get about 11 months if i replace batterys during winter time but normally will last a little over a year

    Your video was great, I think I may have a faulty unit. The key turned the deadbolt freely until i attached the back side with the plug. Once i did that, it would not turn the deadbolt all the way. I took it apart several times and re-installed... same issue. When I added the batteries and held down the lock button, it could not close the deadbolt all the way. Not sure it was anything I did not do. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

    • @campbellwannabe
      @campbellwannabe Před rokem

      I am!! What did you do to resolve? Only AFTER putting the back on, the deadbolt will not throw!! GRRR!!
      FOLLOW UP: For others that may also have this happen, KwikSet advised that the machine screws on the back of the black portion (that you plug the wire into and install on the back of the door), were installed too tight. They advised, to back them out ever so slightly, to allow the deadbolt to move SMOOTHLY. KwikSet customer service "Josh", was great. 800.327.5625 (Edits, spelling & follow-up)
