I am replacing the existing CFL can lights in my kitchen. If I use the remodel can, once I insert it into the ceiling opening, I will not have access to the junction box because this is a two story house and the fixtures I am replacing are on the bottom floor and I have no attic. Can I wire it up before I stick the can into the ceiling, otherwise, the junction box will be inaccessible.

You did quite well... just repaired my '85 driver side vent window lock, but without a single new or replacement part... simply because they are hard to get here and if then very expensive here in the European communist Union superstate!! I re-designed and re-created the outer and inner seal and added a piece of thin tubing over the center of the outer bolt, so that no metal comes in direct contact with the glass plate. The seals are now made of inner tube rubber and seal firmly onto the glass and I added a half hard plastic ring on the inside to give more surface pressure on the glass and a firmer solid lock of the protruding bolt, this helps prevent the complete inner core from rotating when someone tries to unlock the window forcefully without first pushing well on the unlock button in the middle... in fact that is the mistake you made... you used force to open the latch but did not push enough on the unlock button, which in result caused the entire inner part to rotate and actually undoes, weakens and loosens the actual locking action one may hope for. Since the latch was also rotating very poorly around the center piece, I cleaned and lightly coated the inner works with copper grease to assure a lifetime hassle free operation... this may cause some greasy fingers the first few times, but after a couple of wipe offs we're all good. I will have to do the same job on the passenger side of my '85 Blazer and will video record and share how to do it. That one in addition has the lower pivot bolt with spring etc snapped off, so that is an additional challenge, but we'll get there... I hope!

I have 6 beetles and 2 classic vans. I bought a beetle for 300$ in 1997 because the fuel filter was installed backwards. Someone cut the roof off but it otherwise has no rust. Sits in my garage. Several of them are yard ornaments. I have had two 1971 vans stolen in my days. One was a camper pop top and was returned to me in crash totalled condition. I have gone to court to get back a 1978 van that a mechanic was supposed to fix as I tore my house down after a tornado crushed the house and I had to relocate. I won't part with any of them due to the history of nightmares I have faced simply owning them. I had some kind of bullseye painted on me for years and people constantly hit my vans and bugs. I drive a 1969 Yukon yellow bug. Her name is CAR - Cover of Abbey Road. Same year and color on the Beatles album. My 1969 van is a hang out sitting area and isn't taken out because of the bullseye factor I am cursed with. The 78 van has a camper top added by the previous owner. It is used to camp out in the back yard. Bug Garden wouldn't be home without all the VW's on the acreage. They make it the name that it is. Your videos are indeed genuine and appreciated. It's like going back in time to the late 80s and forward for me. I put a whole new brake system in CAR this month. Otherwise, hadn't worked on a VW for 11 years. Tons of YT videos of bugs lately. Maybe I am meant to do some restoring. Thank you for your content.

Hi Chris, Great video with helpful explanations. Your videos on relays are the only ones that englightened me. I'm less than a novice on relays as I have never worked with them and only became aware of their exsitence few days ago, but I would like to learn how to use them on cars. In both this video and your other one titled "the automotive RELAY explained...", did you assume two power sources for the two circuits: one for the 85 - 86 circuit and another for the 30 - 87? It seems that you used two power sources in the other video on air conditioner, but I am not sure on this one. As far as I understand, personal cars only have one power source. In this case, would you need same gauged wires for both circuits?

Like another viewer posted get those heater hoses on or block them off with caps on the fan housing. Air, like water, takes the easiest path and it's much easier to just blow out through those heater outlets instead of cooling your engine. The sneaky part about this is that it's not immediately obvious that any damage is being done but it really wears the engine down especially in someplace hot.

3:07 the ballist bypass wire is important for a Couple reasons . One being the voltage drop while starting. It can drop to as low as 9.5 volts +/-. The ballast cutting it nearly in half. That leaves good bit less than 6-9 v for the coil and ignition components. It can drop to a point where it can no longer function. And on the other side it can supply a hotter spark for lighting a rich mixture when cold. Damp plug does not want to spark.. basically being shorted out with a high resistance. You need high voltage, high current to get past the short. And less voltage into the coil less voltage out. The constant 13-14 v to the coil will over heatvtge points if equipped, and the coil will overheat eventually possibly burn up, and a over heated coil of wire inside a sealed container of OIL! What could possibly happen? Spray hot oil on s hotter engine, and the oil will possibly turn into a flame soon as it sees air! ,✌️

If you are doing this job, install 6000K led's in the dash illumination sockets only, I re-did my cluster as well with new bulbs (even used 168's which are a little brighter) and had to remove my cluster again 1 year later to install led's because the illumination was so poor. Now illumination is great, matches my other incandescent lighting I left alone on the climate controls, console and radio and everything is still dim-able. I used Sylvania zevo 6000k super-brite 194 led's, they are dim-able, polarity sensitive, have a heat sink and lifetime warranty, pricey at $22/pair, but I don't want to do the job again. Job took 10 led's. You want to keep incandescent's in the areas I mentioned to aid in current draw through your headlight switch rheostat facilitating smooth dim-ability.
