  • A few people have asked about the mk1 boot conversion what they need and how much it costs. I have gone into everything you will need and how much it will roughly cost if anyone is thinking of doing the aame on their car.

      Thanks for the feedback mate, i was super skeptical about doing it as i dont like talking about money. Its not really what guys come for but i think its helped a few people out.

    Alex . To be honest l think it's a fair price. Particularly the paintwork . And you can sleep easy knowing you've had a top class job done . Well done Alex .

    Interesting video Alex thanks for sharing. Been around Minis for most of my life and it still pains me how much doing the jobs right costs. And doing it right first time will always save money on the long run without by the need to replace poor quality parts and work.

    Hi Alex, well ya 'S wouldn't look that good done on the cheap hey! Surely given the model it is, you have to do it right 🤔 and the cost is the reality. And yeah, don't tell the missus how much lol! Great stuff 😊

      Yeah definitely mate. I think the way i did it was certainly the only option for this car. And yes definitely don't tell the misses 🤣 she often shakes her head at my spending habits

    I know a bloke down the pub who's brothers mums step sister would spray 9bootlid for a bottle of whiskey.... admittedly you probably wouldn't fit it on your car...lol.
    In all honesty and seriousness, fair play for the video Alex.... not many people would go to the expense of getting the details right like you have.... or, be as open about what it costs..... well done!!
    Oh, and you forgot to factor in 3 sets of boot seal clips.... #bastardjob

    I guess I was pretty luck to pick up an original rust free double skin early boot lid for 35 quid only had to buy numberplate hanger parts 😁

    👍 I worked in China for 20 years and there is absolutely no way I would put anything manufactured in China on a car. The quality is dubious to say the very least.

      @@classicminidetails8887 I'm a Morgan man myself but had a 72 Mini back in the day in Black Tulip with Red interior. Did you see the 'Bangers & Cash' CZcams video where they found a Mk1 Cooper S in a derelict garage completely rotten and it sold for £18K at Matthewson Auction?

      @@classicminidetails8887 looking at prices refurbishing my mini based kit car ,some of the parts bought for a couple of quid 30 years ago absolutely frightening ,got an original lucas spot on rear ,and apparently the mk1 escort front indicators aprox £120 now might have chain them to the car lol .

      @@classicminidetails8887 I'm more relieved that I got Hannah's name right than owt else. Some might be shocked at the cost but its your hobby and if you're happy that's what counts. After all, have you see what people pay for golf sticks and yearly fees.....now IMO that is a waste of money 🤣
