I mean the entire intro scene with him playing games already exists today. Just go pick up an Oculus Rift. I play this VR game called "beat saber" a lot and it legit feels and looks just like the opening scene of him playing the skydiving game. It won't be long now until that same tech is overlayed onto reality as well and not confined to just VR.

I remember seeing this when I was very young, not really understanding it and for some reason having that toast scene at the end engrained in my early memories. After watching an apple vision pro video the premise of the video came flooding back to me and immediately tabbed out and started searching "virtual reality short film" "dystopian lens short film" and then again by some weird repressed super old memory I just wrote out "sight short film" and refound this video. After rewatch I'm astonished how close this far future feels now after 11 years. While rewatching I was flooded with old feelings and rejuvenated memories as well as being surprised by how much I had forgotten, this short film is so much more relevant now and was so ahead of its time. Brilliant work.

I have been binge watching these short films for the last three days. Love the imagination behind all of them.
This needs to be a full length film. Genius original idea and impeccably done.
I had to watch and analyze this video for my English 101 class and I was amazed by the amount of detail and the concept of this short film.

This film was made in 2012. BM began in 2011. BM has just one season over these guys. This year's Hang the Dj episode from BM came close to this in concept. The attention to nuance in this short is spectacular. I hope the creators worked or get to work on BM for real.

And now Google have confirmed they are testing a "smart" contact lens. Life imitates art.
Ok that's really creepy.
It gets creepier, they think they can cure blindness and paralysis with robots. They also think that ai's can solve all the worlds problems and you will be able to have "sex" with them and stuff like that. Plus, create VR like on video that would be used in the brain. The more into the future we go, the more creepier it gets.
You need to read beyond the headline. It's "smart" in that it incorporates a glucose sensor. Nothing sinister there, just health monitoring. Nobody is close to making a self-contained AR contact lens display, let alone one that interfaces directly with your brain. We haven't even begun to map the human brain connectome. The closest humanity's gotten so far is a tiny nematode.
Definitely one of the best indie short films I've seen on the Tube. Excellent job guys!

Says the person commenting on youtube.... Note that in the early parts of the film, he gamified exercise and cooking and indeed we use apps for that. In the past we used TV and before that, books. Similarly, all those technologies have been used to give advice on dating and romance. Have you ever asked a friend for advice on relationships? Where exactly does it become manipulative?
I do agree. To some extent. My sentiments were more along the lines of "I hope the future doesn't become 110% digital with no organic art, feelings, or intrinsic fun in things." Asking for advice, sure. Gamifying some activities like cooking or exercise, we've been doing that for ages. But it makes me a bit sad to see the empty wall and no actual physical, organic "art" (whether it is a painting, or your kid's crayon drawings). I just hope we do not forget to enjoy a life without technology.
Commenting on youtube isn't a gamified activity. I'm just expressing my thoughts.

cosmicquandary IDK, you certainly have the option of scanning your kids art work and having that upload to anyone who enters the house for simulated wall hanging. What this video lacked IMHO is evidence of an interactive "building app" for creative endeavors. Your smart phone today can do many of the things portrayed in the "dating app" including analyzing a person's stress level from their voice. That said, I always enjoy seeing what ideas people have about possible uses of up and coming technology.

I really really like this. I saw it the first time a few months ago and watch it occasionally when I am bored. I just wanted to say it in case Eran or Daniel read these comments. I want you guys to know when I think of a well done short film I always think of this. It sticks out to me as much as my all time favourite movies do. You are special. Keep making movies.

I love this sort of future guessing...and this is well done, awesomely believable, in fact! It's EXACTLY what men today would jump at! An app for dating, no awkward pauses, no fumbling...If this doesn't actually become reality soon, I'll be very surprised. Ever noticed how fact often follows fiction in science writing/films?

Wow what a great short! I love how science fiction is all about personifying our hopes and fears of the future. This is a great prediction of things to come, and quite honestly it's really not so far fetched.

I think i can say that at least 2-3 thousand of the views have been done by my english 10 teacher. We are using the video as an analysis thingy, basically watch it and answer questions, prefer it to analyzing a piece of text

That was amazing. I would love this as a more in depth film in the future. It blew me away and was almost like a forewarning; it was very insightful. Reminds me alot of dystopian fiction.
Smart plausible premise, nicely acted, directed and filmed. Concise story. Believable dialogue, great graphics and minimal but effective FX. Surprising denouement.

Brilliant glimpse into the future. When I first saw it I thought this was definitely where we're headed and now (almost 6 years later) we can see the early developmental steps of it happening. Another good parallel glimpse of this tech is the excellent book Daemon by Daniel Suarez originally published 2006. Well done CG Bros!

Glasses, fine. Contacts, fine. Eye implants, not fine. Anything connected to the internet which is capable of influencing the way we perceive things or otherwise control us is inherently subject to interference and manipulation.
We're likely to have this type of technology by the end of this year or next year.
This is the point of the story.
How are you fine with anything that's capable of fully obstructing your vision? Let's say you driving down a mountain road and you're about to make a tight turn around a cliff face. What do you do when your AR glasses/contacts suddenly go opaque and you can't see anything?

Microsoft is better if you have a little tech experience to keep the system operating like it should, because it has way more apps and programs that can be used on it. Plus the fact you can actually install OSX on a PC(windows machine). All systems are broken and hackable if you really know about programming, MAc systems including iphones tend to crash every now and then also and need to be fixed, they are probably more stable as crashes occur not as often. Even Linux systems tend to break every now and then and can be hacked. There is no such think as a unhackable system, you may can make one that doesn't break but not unhackable. The people that come out with unhackable systems have systems that are unhackable at the time but once you learn the code it can be hacked.

Cgi Bros this Is A really interesting short film 🎥 cause you know I remember watching this years back it relaxes me so much I can get comfortable and sleep to it and these actors did good 😊 and I don't fully understand the storyline but I still like to watch it every now and then
