- In this mod created by Superstarxalien, you are able to recolor any character's kart for use in races just like in Nitro-Fueled, ranging from the 15 original kart colors plus 6 brand new ones! Press L2 or R2 in the character select screen to navigate.
Color submissions are welcome! Please check the readme for more details.
Note: This mod currently works only on single player modes.

if there is one thing I could suggest is when changing a paint job, the text would say what color it is, and how to change it.

This is awsome I can use all the mod stuff to make my own kart racing game out of crash team racing by using all the tools that are already made for us
You can even make a game with new physics, without racing. We've got small projects that do that already
awesome, maybe a proper kart color menu should be fine, also please fix the mod pack that includes engine selector, reserves bar, character randomizer and oxide in roster, purple token challenge are broken, uncollectable rainwob crystals, game crashing nitros and messy map collisions on rocky road and nitro court

Hopefully this will have compatibility with the current custom character system, or perhaps a new iteration of it.
Could the AIs have randomized paint jobs as well with the Randomizer?
it's definitely doable, i might add it in the future
@@superstarxalien169 In your opinion how difficult do you think it'd be to replace the in-game character models with their higher poly cut scene models? Since we're no longer constrained by the psx it'll be great to see the better looking models on the tracks

This is great. Is it possible to multipatch? I applied the Unlock Everything Oxide EDT, which works, but when I try to apply any other patch, weird things happen, or the ROM won’t load. Am I doing something wrong? This is great btw. Can’t wait to see what the future holds.

can you port textures from european version? some are fixed actually
the purplish colour of fake crash's gray kart is fixed for example
it's a small improvement but an improvement anyway
also - is it possible to port back some objects from promo version to the retail one? like the two background objects that were removed from n.gin labs
fake crash's gray color has the fixed color on all characters -- except crash and fake crash. for those two it's a 3d model matter and not purely a texture one, it can't be fixed yet
@@superstarxalien169 they managed to make his kart look normal without that purple thing on the front in the european version
if it's possible I'd love to see it in the us version which is the most known one and most played one

Nah, the scrapped feature was related to kart stats, not paint jobs.

no. oxide's hovercraft actually doesn't rely on 2d textures but on the 3d model as a whole instead, it can't be changed with the knowledge we have yet

i mean, maybe? but i prefer the palette swap approach, you can make some more careful colors like so
Next, the sounds of the engines.
Those all use the same samples, just different runtime mixing. It's on the to-do list along with rewriting more game source code to make it happen

Because if it's recent then in hindsight, why hasn't this been tried before? Seems like a no brainer concept to do.
Well CTR modding wasn't a thing until recently, so this was one of the first mods to be made

No different from any other emulator, you just need to apply the xdelta patch in the ROM
