    Wow! Love the way the floor looked at the end, just beautiful - thanks for sharing! I want to do this on my travertine fireplace surround - it's beige but too yellowish in tone and bugs me. Was your travertine sealed? I know mine is because water beads up on it - so will it absorb the paint okay if I do this - and do you have to put something on top of it when you're done whitewashing it to preserve it and be able to wash it or wipe it down?

      My travertine backsplash is also sealed and I have the same question. Does this work if the travertine has a sealer on it?

    I have travertine but it has a seal on it.. How do I take the seal off ? And I love the shiny look so can you put a seal on it after you are done? Thank you so much!! I am super excited about this..

    How do you seal it?

    • @Ketiri

      There is made a sealer, but I don’t know if she recommends it.

  • @Lu-cho
    @Lu-cho Před 2 lety +3

    If sealed YOU CAN'T DO IT.
    you have to sand down to remove the sealer.
    If is possible you need to use SEALER A REAL ONE and not *"PAINT"*
    Sealer will penetrate to your tile.
    Paint only on the top surfaces.
    Maybe sealer MAYBE you can polished after that. Paint? I don't think you can polished.
    *.That looks like paint to me.*

    It looks terrible!!!!! why didn't you pay a Stone Restoration expert to diamond cut the travertine? It always lightens up when diamond cut. You spent the money on the counters,you should have spent the money on the travertine. Eventually you'll have to have them repaired.
