Dr. Strange, wtf is Joe smoking
Thank you for doing Joe's job for him
EEAAO will bag the Oscar
Dr Strange?!?!?! That movie straight up sucked
You guys forgot Morbious, what other movie was put in theaters twice!
Lol
Definitely one of the movies of all time.
If youâre a fan of good animation, Puss In Boots: TLW was such a surprise banger of a film. Easily one of if not THE best animated films in recent years. Loved that movie!
I agree. He wont watch it though
@@dinkeydonkey5866 Thatâs right, he doesnât really review animated films does he? The only one I recall him reviewing was Spider-Man into the spider verse. Which he may have only reviewed cause it was superhero related and just so happened to come out in theaters.
If I ever have kids I'll definitely watch it with them. Very fun, even for an adult.
@@dinkeydonkey5866 sad that people still think animation canât be on par or better than live action
@@Amexy-mr6lw nothing sad about it, that's just facts. No animated film I've ever seen comes even close to The best live action movies like Lord of the rings, Gladiator, Heat etc. Nothing.
Bullet Train deserves an honourable mention for sure
I enjoyed this movie as well.. my wife didnt seem to care for it much but I loved the dialog and acting in this film for sure.
â@RuffEdgz I'm glad my lady liked it. She loves Tarantino movies too and enjoyed the similarities
good one
Never understood the hate, Bullet Train was so fucking fun
Bullet train was so predictable and annoying I couldn't even finish it
I love OJâs rankings.
Yeah but I feel like this needs saying...........
God fucking damnit Joe, now I have to watch Maverick... And Alex, don't even get me started - you were supposed to reinforce my lazy boycott not make it pathetic!!!! And OJ - come on man, you're supposed to love shitty movies, not good ones, hahahaha
@@SappeREffecT you should have watched that when it came out lol
@@SappeREffecT Maverick is great, why would you not want to watch it..well unless you just totally hate Tom Cruise. Actually, I don't really like him but watched it anyway.
Thatâs why I didnât watch it. I donât care how many videos he makes thanking the fans. Heâs a piece of shit for still being involved with Scientology.
@@garysmith7392 Well by that standard you should stop driving cars and eating food and using any products etc etc because because thereâs probably someone attached to all those things thatâs into Scientology. I donât disagree that Scientologist if predatory garbage though.. but thatâs Hollywood these days.
Absolutely crazy how All Quiet On The Western front isn't on anyone's list. It was probably number 1 for me.
yeah agree 100%, was surprised that at least one of them didnt see it
It's a different type of movie, I don't think those guys have fun watching it, and that's OK with that. All Quiet probably would be on my top 5
Remake #3
I donât watch Imperialist Apologia.
Tbh it wasnât that great imho. The og 70s movie (and of course the OG OG book) are the best versions of the story. The 2022 film just wanted to be more of an action flick to me and was a terrible adaptation to the original material
RRR, Fabelmans, GDT Pinocchio, Banshees of Inisherin, Aftersun
AJ coming in clutch just as I was looking for something to watch. I know these lists are probably exhausting to make back to back but they are videos I look forward to every year. Keep up the good fight against CZcams Joe, you got this.
Iâm shocked you didnât see puss in boots the last wish it because one of the best animated movies of the year
10x Better than Avatar.
They like watching trash movies and shows
Straight up. I rewatched that movie three times and still haven't got bored.
I was looking for this comment. I skimmed through this video and was shocked to hear they liked the menu. It was so bad...
The best movie that year
You should check out The Northman and All Quiet in the western front. Top 3 for me along with top gun.
Literally same. All Quiet on the Western Front was absolutely great. Not as good as 1917 for me but an incredible WWI film nonetheless.
Northman was, for me, the best movie last year.
Iâm pretty sure they saw the Northman. I guess it didnât make the cut⊠this is a list for man babies by the sounds of it.
Those are literally my 2 favorite movies of 2022... good choices!
@@brando3342 Nobody gonna take you serious if your calling people man babies over a video that is all based on personal opinions.
@@boxcatt Ok đ
Considering how vertically stacked so many streaming media companies are, they could have an entire cottage industry of people that are willing to create TV budget movies for streaming, with the hope that a few of them test so highly with audiences that they go on to be part of a series or possibly theatrical release. Most modern productions are too top heavy with big wigs weighing in and such.
Corporate is kinda stupid:
- They aren't willing to take "big risks" a.k.a. funding indie movies and to see what sticks with audiences. Spending million dollars for 10 indie movies? Nope.
- They are willing to take a seemingly "small risk" by making the biggest thing ever that costs 10 billion dollars and has big names attached to it, only for it to flop because they had too many restrictions on the direction and hired a Twitter activist as the lead writer.
That's exactly what they do?
AJ videos just hit different when the music starts at the beginning
You ain't lying bro
Also when he butchers half the names đ
It's like clicking on pure dopamine
Yeah that like electric drum tish tish tish it's bang on aha
@@ji1298 LOL yeah. Straight to the point
Kinda surprised Bullet Train didn't make it here. That was a very fun movie with a lot of everything in it. I went into it with really no expectations and I ended up enjoying every min of the movie. Puss in Boots: Last Wish was also kinda badass and thought I'd see it here somewhere. Good list though by the boys
I went into Bullet Train expecting it blew all its good scenes in the trailers and boy oh boy was i wrong.
The movie was an unpredictable, chaotic joyride. From the weird and funny dialogue topics that serve an actual purpose in the story to the amazing cameos.
ItÂŽs an amazing movie through and through and I enjoyed every single minute of it.
In my opinion it deserves at least a top 3 spot.
@Shifty I'm with ya there! Also Lemon and Tangerine are golden
Bullet Train was awesome! It did take a dive once you-know-who got killed, but otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed it.
If the rumors are true that the Tangerine actor will be the next Bond, then Lemon should absolutely be his Q.
Bullet Train and Top Gun Maverick are my two favourites by far, cant decide which first
Agree, both were great for completely different reasons.
My personal Top 10
10: Inu-oh
9: Babylon
8: RRR (Rise Roar Revolt)
7: Guillermo del Toroâs Pinocchio
6: Everything Everywhere All at Once

3: The Cursed
2: The Batman
1: The Northman
Honorable Mentions: Top Gun: Maverick, The Black Phone, Mad God, Chip nâ Dale: Rescue Rangers, The Bad Guys, All Quiet on the Western Front, Marcel the Shell with Shoes on
Nice list man... have you seen All Quiet on the Western Front or the Banshees of Inisherin?... they're both great too
@@AndrewAnstrom Yep, All Quiet on the Western Front is in my honorable mentions, and Banshees of Inisherin I thought was good.
Babylon and Northman....srsly?
@@joyalshaji2730 Yeah dude, loved those movies. Itâs cool if theyâre not your thing though.
Bullet Train, Violent Night and The Menu were the ones that surprised me that year. Did not expect to like them as much as movies like Prey or The Batman
Tar was my favorite movie of the year, but you guys all had good picks. Also loved The Northman and The Banshees of Inisherin.
Iâve seen two of those three, Banshees and The Northman are phenomenal films
NORTHMAN HYPE
Northman is my favorite movie of 2022
Northman was whack and drivel. Story was barebones af.
@@joyalshaji2730 it was based off shakespeareâs Hamelt
I think a lot of people slept on Devotion. It's an excellent Korean War film. If you like Top Gun Maverick, you will recognize Glenn Powell. It also features Jonathan Majors who plays Kang in Ant-Man Quantummania who plays the first Black Naval Aviator Jesse Brown. Based on the book it's a great watch imo.
@@FilmTrekk wrong.
It's basically midway but set in Korea. It's a good movie but so basic
@@mingyuhuang8944 I didn't mind that. It was the dynamic between the two pilots and I found it to be a bit kore grounded as a result. Top Gun Maverick was great and all. But Maverick I think pushed things a bit in terms of believability.
i watched that movie with my grandmother and both her and my mom cried at the end. It hit my grandmother especially since she was around for all of that.
It was alright. The ending was sad as hell but the fact that they only focus on the two characters when they keep showing the other pilots without purpose was dumb as hell.
I think it's time to do the best Angry Joe moments of the year.
Write that down!
Do it, Joe! Do it for the fans!
We will see that video next year lol
@@TheSilentRevolution1988 I don't like to wait anymore
How is Puss in Boots: The Last Wish not in this??
They're lame old men with bad taste in movies.
You really need to watch Puss in Boots the Last Wish! Donât judge it just because itâs animation. Easily #1 movie in my opinion. Movies like Puss in boots the last wish should deserve more praise for what it brings!
You guys need to watch Puss in boots the last wish. One of the best movies of the year for sure
I was wondering what your opinion was on Smile. I'm glad you talked about it here! Sad that it didn't get a full break down review from you as I would have loved to hear more about what you thought about it. It's not the greatest thing by any stretch but it was pretty good and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would as well. It definitely has more creep factor than I was expecting which added to it.
Been loving all the AJS content so far this year. Havenât watched the channel much in the last year but Iâm loving it all over again after 10 years
Ahocked to see Dr Strange MOM on AJs list, that movie was a solid 4/10 for me
I'd say it was considerably worse than that. I think AJ is way too lenient when it comes to these things.
2/10
Seriously? That film was pure crap garbage! By far the worst Marvell's film yet. I want my time back of my life I wasted watching the crap.
Truly awful. This list stopped making sense. The fact he rated it higher than everything everywhere and Avatar. Wtf
It was definitely a very divisive film for sure, but I don't think it's a 4/10... There are FAR worse marvel movies that have come out since lol. I like it for daring to try something different... also, the violence in it was definitely a step up from all marvel movies that came before it. To me, that was a huge plus.
Joe messing up the name of "the unbearable weight of massive talent" so many times is hilarious.
It wouldn't be the 1st video (by a long shot) that he messed up the names of actors and movies. This video alone he messed up at least three actors - Anya Taylor Joy, Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olson got the butcher treatment.
My friend and I were watching this after drinking and smoking and when he said "the weight of massable" we absolutely lost it for a good 5 minutes. In Joe's defense it's an awful title for a movie lol
He also kept saying Matt Miller for the director of Batman
That's Joe. Terrible memory
timestamp?
nice. Im more of a gamer than a movie watcher but this gave me a heads up for some ideas if im in a movie mood.
I thought the Puss in Boots movie was pretty good, a bit surprised it didn't make it
He didn't watch it
Robbed for sure
Awesome- I was waiting for this list so much. Also i think it was generally a good year for streaming movies. I did like very much "Guillermo del Toroâs Pinocchio" and "The Pale Blue Eye" both from Netflix. I'm waiting for the worst 10 :D
I'm actually intrigued by people recommending Puss in Boots in the comments, gonna check it out! I'm sure I'm not the only one
It's easily one of the best animated films I've seen in a long time. You don't need to have any prior knowledge of the original movie to enjoy this one either.

Puss In Boots The Last Wish deserves to be on that that list
How dare you put Multiverse of Madness on your top 3
I didn't know you made this a series too...! Man, I need to catch up, lol.
I dunno if they haven't seen it, but straight up Puss In Boots 2: The Last Wish definitely needs to be up here.
The list is good! Don't get me wrong! But its legit over Avatar and easily a top 5 and possibly a top 3. That movie is peak animation.
10/10 a master piece. If you all haven't seen it, go and watch it! Its a last year film, but it would be awesome to see a movie review on it.
Edit: The Bad Guys dropped the same year too. Dreamworks got hella shafted here after just doing Boss Baby and Trolls for so long. They NEED some credit with The Bad Guys and Puss in Boots. Straight up.

Just a little recommendation for you guys
Pinocchio was on the 10 worst list, but not that version, but they discussed both of them.
@@sprinkle61 Yeah, well Pinochio with Hanks wasn't really good.
Banshees of Inisherin was amazing
Y'all guys gotta see RRR
I saw the menu due to your guys recommendation! It was so fun, very weird/confusing but great!
my number one would be Everything Everywhere All At Once. that movie did so much right for me that I really really enjoyed it. but you were right about Doctor Strange being a controversial pick, because putting it over that movie is wild to me. for how excited I will see that movie if it was on that list at all, it would be number 10.
I hated the movie. It's great but not very deep when you think about it.
Super overrated movie.
Easily the most unique, bizarre and heartwarming movies i've ever seen. Absolutely takes #1 spot for 2022 movies.

I second Dr. Strange: MoM as being overrated.
I still enjoyed it but considering how blown away I was by the first one at the time, I think I had MUCH HIGHER EXPECTATIONS for the sequel and it didnât really go nearly as âwildâ with its âmultiversal touristâ premise as I was hoping for.
Keep up the good work guys you guys are amazing people and your channel has helped me through a lot of tough times you guys are heros keep it up
You all should have seen more indie movies, because that is really where the talent is at in the film industry. A24, specifically, is killing it. Banshees of Inserin and Worst Person in the World were both fantastic and at the top of my list.

Dont take this the wrong way.... He just makes youtube videos on games and movies. He isn't curing cancer. Always weird when people say things like that. Be entertained but remember. Joe doesnt know you and you dont know him. Scary when people cant distinguish the line.
Everything Everywhere All At Once absolutely blew me away. It made me laugh, made me cry, kept me engaged, and played every single one of its cards perfectly. I'm a huge movie critic so very rarely do I say something is a "masterpiece" but that movie is one in my book. My number 1 film of 2022 was The Northman. I love Robert Eggers films and i love Viking and Norse lore, and it was beautiful, the music was classic, the violence was brutal, it was an experience.
I'm surprised it wasn't on Joe's list. đ±
Bruh I forgot that came out this year it is good.
You guys are absolutely missing out on not watching Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. It's hilarious, some of the best CG animation you can see right now, and action that reminded me of Dark Souls, not even kidding. It's my number one fav of last year, saw it five times, four of those in theaters for how much of a theatrical treat it is. Still in theaters now, you have time to watch it.

Hey Joe, since you watched so much streaming, how about a top list of the best series of 2022?
You forgot "The Northman" as a clear nr 1 on the list!
Glad to see Prey getting some praise! Loved it best in the series sense the original!
Love prey a lot it was worth it for me to watch and hopefully it gets more attention
I personally wasn't a fan of prey, it had good moments but it was a letdown for me
Seriously? Prey was dogshit bro :/ get higher standards.....
It wasnât perfect, but it was A LOT BETTER than I was expecting (even the way some of the early story contrivances end up coming around âfull circleâ by the end; it actually impressed me, considering how dogshit the writing is in a lot of modern Hollywood productions).
Bullet train & Elvis personally I throw in my top 10 list.
I wish I saw Everything Everywhere All at Once in theatres I loved that movie! That's my pick for the year(Even though I don't go out and see movies muchđ )
I also really enjoyed Top Gun that movie was loud as heck but still had a good time.
Doctor Strange was great and I enjoyed the whole music battle thing but there were certain parts which made me lol because the some cgi was rough but it was a fun movie.
Oh the Batman was great as well! I don't think many of my family members thought it was that amazing, but I enjoyed it. The only thing I wish they had was slightly better lighting. You couldn't really see much in the movie since it was so dark! I wish it was a bit brighter but I dunno if that would've ruined the mood in the movie. It was really good though and Robert Patterson really pulled it off as a Batman, and! He didn't work out intensely like most people do for superheroes movies so I respect that decision he looked great tbh.
Everything everywhere at once was amazing
