Regarding the stereo music listening and 4 subs, you can set your 4 subs in directional for surround sound in preset 1 then on preset 2 have all 4 subs as std for stereo listening in preset 2
I’m dying to know how it sounds against NAD? I love my T757 it’s always made high frequency shine making movies & music so much more vibrant (than Yamaha). I’m finally needing a new one and considering the 50 / 40 but am concerned it might not give a similar vibrant effect??

You will be happy with either but if you can go 40 do it. Its just a better built unit in Japan, the 50 is maas produced in China. Features are mostly the same.

I would run the 5 main or 7 if you wish from the power amp and connect them via pre-out. Then in the menu of the Marantz turn the outputs to pre-out only so the remainder of the power gets sent to the remaining ch of the marantz. You can then run 11ch and zone 2

@@essamchoudhry7432 they are almost the same units. Think Golf R and Audi RS3. The Marantz is just that bit more premium but internally they are very much the same bar a few small changes.

I’ve had 2 cinema 50s, both had bad hand shake issues with my Series X, and the bass is def tuned down on the 50. From what I’ve read from others. They like the bass level and sound from the 40. I’m willing, just don’t want that handshake issue. Lemme know man, please, if you experience it with the series X

@@homecinemaking397 I just traded my 50 in for a 40. I noticed a pretty big difference. The 40 is both clearer and has a wider sound stage. I wasn't too impressed with the 50. I thought my RZ50 was better.

I had the 40 and 50 for about 5 days testing them side by side with 2 different sets of floor standing speakers(4 ohm and 6 ohm), 2 different sets of bookshelf speakers (8hm and 6 ohm) , and a set of 5.2.4 Atmos system. To be honest with you, the two AVR sounded pretty much the same when listening to stereo music pairing with the subwoofers, but the 40 made the floor standing speakers produce a little bit more bass due to higher power output without the subs. I would get the 50 and pair it with a power amp and save the money. The 40 is not worth the extra cost in my opinion. I also had the Denon 3800H and 4800H, and the 4800H produced noticeable better (wider, more details) sound than the 3800H. The difference is more noticeable than between the 40 and 50. If you are a person use the AVR 50/50 for music/movies , go with Cinema 50. If you use the AVR 30/70 for music and movies, I would take the 4800H all day. You go with the 40 only if you have too much money or you simply want the best, and go with the 3800H when you are on a budget.

If i had to take the 40 or 8015 i would take the 40. For me its just a better unit.

No not really. These ultra AVR units tend to always fall short for me.
Cinema 50 bass is tuned down a lot. And apparently the 40 bass and sound is a lot better due to the sound masters
No not that much, there is a difference but its not huge but 40 is better for-sure.

Does the 40 sound different to the 50?
Very much the same sound it comes down to the power you need and features you want.
