I just bought a 17' as well. I'll pass on the 1 mpg better 10 speed and the couple horsepower more redesigned engine and happily take the reliable Second Gen Coyote with the 6 speed. Sometimes things just don't need changed.
Awsome bill your going to love that truck I bought mine new in 2013 400 horses 800 foot pounds of torque got 95000 miles on it one oil leak from factory other than that no problems with it mines a f350 and it hasn't had a problem with anything I've hooked up to great truck

Congrats on the new truck bill. It’s the least you an your family deserve. Thanks for the awesome content over the years. Keep up the good work buddy 👍🏻
Do you have projection low beam lights, i got a 2018 f150 with projectors and can't see shit on low beam, not bright enough and a big black spot on the drivers side.
Very nice truck Bill very happy for you. Hey Bill why don't they put an undercoat to protect from the salt they use when it snows. You know that salt and metal sequels RUST. Great video man.
Hey bill, congratulations on the new truck even though I’m not a ford guy (ram- Cummins) but I’ve put a lot of miles on those 6.7s and they are really nice and powerful trucks. Just get familiar with all the stupid epa crap on them. Don’t idle a lot, and they like getting drove a bit hard so those emissions systems can work properly. Also the def fluid does freeze at 12f and the tank heater only works when the truck is running, so be sure not to completely top that off during the winter so the tank doesn’t crack! Also look on CZcams there is a way to read the date in the def fluid bottles because it does have a short shelf life. All the best!
BILLSTMAXX I don’t believe so. It’s kinda a ridiculous system. But that’s what the epa wants. Honestly, learn to read the barcode on the jug because it does go bad. It’s also sensitive to too much heat so don’t leave unused jugs outside, buy and use as needed.
All those issues wit the exception of the wipers are major issues. Thanks for convincing me not to buy another F-150. I owned a 1999 F-150 Lariat for 14 years and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to Ford.
I don't have the oil consumption, but my 2018 5.0 makes all kinds of noises. I'm gonna get a tundra next time. Let the Japan design it and America make it. I'll miss the 5.0 though
Congratulations on a beautiful truck and thanks for thanking the tubes, very few do that. Have never missed a videos since finding you. It's not your fault they won't let you record at the garage however you will get there and we will be here
I have a 2015 F250 6.7L and get the check engine light often. Will take it in tomorrow for emissions check engine light codes. Had to replace the radiator which was leaking in the left corner, $1800. Read up on Bosh CP2 fuel pump issues on the 6.7L.
Bill maybe you should consider getting a cap with a slight elevated rear to set higher items in the bed, might be nice to stand in the bed also with the added height
Best way to cure that oil consumption problem. . . jack up the radiator cap, and throw a bigger, better truck under it!! One question, one suggestion -- are the headlamps hi-projection on the new one, or are you gonna have to retrofit them again? As a suggestion, and speaking of Weathertech, you ought to look into their no-drill mudflaps for the new one. Those wheel wells look awfully exposed!! Congratulations again!!!
Quick chat: has anyone with the 2018-2020 f150 5.0 V8 have the oil consumption issue fixed or disappear? Or had the oil consumption issue never appear at all?
2019 Lariat FX4 4x4 S/Crew 5.0 (built in Dearborn, MI), purchased in Oct 2019 in Canada. Did first oil change at 5000km with full synthetic. Oil level was down approx. 1/2" from top hole of dipstick with 8.8 liters of oil (specified in manual) *AFTER changing the oil* (.....the same level as before I drained it.) ** no noise or consumption issues during break-in, that I've noticed ** ...so FAR. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Oil consumption yes but the transmission throwing it in park deal happens to a lot of trucks and if you really wanna be picky use the damn parking break 😂
You think you had problems with the 5.0??? Just wait till you have diesel problems LOL. Wait till the DEF goes haywire and renders your truck useless. I sure hope you get good service out of it. But not many do with this new diesel stuff. I also wouldn’t let it idle a ton. It’s terrible for carbon build up and causing emission problems like EGR etc...
when he said it was running rough and i heard it start i was like damn bill they threw a powerstroke in your f150 then he showed the new truck and i will agree with you tho personally im not a fan of ford all trucks have there pros and cons ford biggest con being they have litterally designed the truck to get rid of backyard mechanics so i dont think youll be doin a cold air intake on it when you realise you need to lift the cab off the chassis chevrolet being the rear gearing and uncoated steel lines and dodge tending to be transmission and suspension issues now ya just need to get rid of some of that chrome for black trim always makes a truck look much more menacing
Ford is by far the most aftermarket friendly manufacturer. GM and Dodge encrypt and lock their PCMs. What’s clear is you don’t have much experience with the aftermarket. Cold air, lift the cab off? The 5.0 F150 offers probably the easiest CAI and spark plug change on the market. 6.7 PSD CAI swap is also very easy.
watching this reminds me that used vehicles with low milage at the dealers most likely have something going on looked at a dodge only had 2500 miles on it it last weekend kind of wondered
The F150 showed around 16L/100km, but a diesel engine uses less fuel in general, if you only count the liters or gallons, because diesel fuel does have a higher "energy content" than gasoline, therefore it needs less to run. Over here in Germany, where we have about as many diesel cars as we have gasoline cars, the diesels are always less on the fuel consumption, like, if you drive a gas car with 5-7l/100km, then a diesel car will use around 4-5l/100km.
With our ram one ton every half tank on blue def on gauge is one jug. Ours from new used a bit more til it broke in. The mileage increased. The good thing with diesel is long between oil changes. Ours you can check percentage left. Your fuel filter is so many miles, oil is with oil change. They are higher in price but hauling stuff you need what cha got.
You said it might use up a lot of gas but I read somewhere that diesels are more fuel efficient than gas so you might actually use less but I’m not sure thought I heard that somewhere
That noise i was told by the dealer comes from where the bell housing and engine meet , was told it was normal.... Like all the other things oil coolant.
@die warlockYou got that right, I wouldn't touch a 6.7 too many problems with them, poor fuel mileage. A 6.2 gas is far more reliable, decent power, your truck isn't sitting at the dealer for weeks on end because the 6.7 shit the bed.
The 6.7 psd fixed it lol . I fixed mine by skipping the 5.0 and getting the 3.5 ecoboost what a towing monster with the 10 speed and 470 TFL s of torque.
They fixed nothing! They put in longer dipstick and add 2 additional quarts of oil. And the changed the ECM to lower back pressure. There is no fix for this engine problem except replacing the engine. The problems with the 2019-20 5.0L is the rings used when built and the process of plating the cyl bore. It’s not the same oil coyote engine. Peace
No way that 5.0L would have pulled that trailer. If you bought this to pull your trailer you should have picked up an F-350, huge difference between F-250 and a F-350. Peace
Congratulations on the new truck and thank you for the great videos I look forward to watching the towing videos
