Very good information, I'm really worried about the oil consumption, I have a 2018 Ford mustang gt 5.0 with 20k got when it had 17k and I just added a quart of oil
honestly not that concerned about it. I owned the truck since new, and its never gotten worse. I've had plenty of opportunities to take it in and get it addressed under warranty.....
Geez my check engine light came on and it was making a racheting sound in the engine and it would lose a bout 30% power whilst making that noise and also it would sometimes gulp for air between shifts I had two drive it like that for two weeks before I got it in the shop and they said I had low oil and something about a bad sensor. So anyway they put in oil and said they fixed some sensor and off I went. Then after another oil change about 4000 miles it's happening again and bam my check engine light pops on. This time I go get a quart of oil put it in and bang problem solved but why doesn't my oil light come on and even after putting a quart and a half in I see nothing on the dipstick however after putting in the quart of oil my engine never sounder so smooth even the tick that F150s have at idle is gone. But I'm wondering how much damage have I done to my engine and again where the heck is the oil warning light
@@Patman03sprcrw 116k I bought it used I have a warranty on it! I have had it fixed many times! F 150 XLT and the transmission has never been right about a month buying it! I am a hospice chaplain so I travel a lot! Lucky I have not broke down on the road yet!
My truck has been in the shop for two months I’m going on engine number four. Each time they have had my truck for two months each time this time it will be there for at least 6 months engine’s are on back order so they called me and said we can get you a used engine in five days I couldn’t believe they even called me to ask if I would take a used engine with 50,000 miles on it. Ford has been a complete nightmare to deal with the PCM updates don’t work my engines were so bad they wouldn’t have any oil on the dipstick at 5,000 miles. This last engine lasted 10,000 miles before the check engine light came on and they looked at the cylinders and they were so bad it couldn’t be repaired I’m so sick of Ford. Oh and the 10 speed sucks.
That's pretty wild. Mine seems pretty typical, and sounds like yours is on the far extreme of bad. Sorry you're going through that. I appreciate you sharing your story.

Don't think there is a low oil level warning, just low oil pressure warning which would mean you're almost empty on oil
What did you have done with transmission? I have an 18 also and it uses about a quart of oil 5k miles on oil changes.
Transmission was rebuilt under warranty, but still has same concern with the rough shifting on cold start first acceleration

Are you using 5w20? Im gonna try 5w50 to see if it less oil consumption
Yup I am still using Motorcraft 5W20. I've seen people switch to 5W30 before, but haven't seen anyone go thicker than that
What size pvc pipe is that?
3/4" inside diameter.
