I do love these cute little house blocks. So easy to make and quick, too. I make my roofs by trimming 1/2" off each charm square (half) to become 4.5" across by 2.5" high. Then I don't lose those points on rooftops - also, makes proper flying geese blocks! Try it, I think you'll like it. ;) Thanks, Susan-Claire, for another lovely tutorial!
I just started quilting maybe 18 months ago. I discovered your You Tube videos...and of all I watch, yours are my favorite. I've learned so much. My first project was a spool quilt and instead of doing the long sashing strips, trying to line up the cornerstone on a 5' piece of fabric, I built the sashing around each block like on one of your videos. Came out great. Thanks!
These are such cute little houses. Is there a way to prevent losing "the tip" of the roof in the seam? Your videos are so wonderful. I like the fact that you show how to strip piece so you make two houses at one time. Thank you, Ginny G.
Yes, Ginny, to make roofs (with points) trim 1/2" off each charm square (half) to become 4.5" across by 2.5" high. You won't lose points on rooftops - also, makes proper flying geese blocks! Cutting measurements for house walls are 2" x 3", door is 1.5" x 3" and lintel (above door) is 1.5" x 4.5". You'll have a slightly smaller house block, but just as cute! Try it, you'll like it. ;)
Where may I purchase a pattern? Or may I use these dimensions and share with others? I will be sure to tell them I got this design from your CZcams and will direct them here. Please advise. Thank you so much!
Love your videos I watch them several times especially the house blocks

Gourmet Quilter's house blocks are very cute - and losing the points isn't a problem!
Thanks!
I have just discovered this tutorial. I’ve tried to find the pattern on your website but it isn’t there. Any suggestions ?
Cute house but there is NO seam allowance on the roof point.
Thankyou

+Judy L Sanvitis Hi Judy, sorry, I don't have a pattern available just now, however you are welcome to share and direct them here. Thanks for asking.
+GourmetQuilter How can I add a photo of the little wall hanging I made using your directions?
I think I will make Leader and Ender houses🤔
I purchased the written pattern but walls were too small when I followed those measurements
Hi, the pattern you purchased (thank you) is not the same as shown in the video. The measurements are given in the video for using the 5” squares.
