That's what I thought about having to go through the grinding it took to reach this point. I haven't seen or watched any late game videos or read anything about it (except the golems sound really neat) but that's all I know.
Hate to buy game and then find out it has cheesy or cop out ending like movies usually do these days. Just a screen that finally says "They lived happily ever after" wouldn't settle well with me lol
I hope he keeps playing (am not critiquing, he's perfect) but wish he'd get a few fundamentals people point out in comments to help that would be of immense aid if utilized. It's easy though to say do this or do that when you're not the one playing so do not mean any disrespect at all. He's much better than I am since I don't even have the game yet.

    • @CJFravel
      @CJFravel Před rokem +27

Yep, and add irrigation pathways into the crops with a dam at inlet from larger reservoir. All your pathways then become 0.5m depth water storage instead of wasted space and allows you to plant further inland. If you're going really deep in you can do a double depth channel to store even more water behind the dam. You can do a floodgate if you want to store a full 1m of water but it's more to micromanage and general I find it not worth it.

Liqiud hydraulics and fuse boxes in Hondas, blinker switches, steering wheel covers, fan/thermostat knobs, and junction box mounts in Toyotas as well as many other parts that would not function properly, break/fail, or just be trash if it wasn't for my job, or the many others that could replace me if I lost this job lol. We are just a small company that makes small parts for larger companies that make/assemble the parts with other components and ship the finished goods to either a third party for more assembly or send them to the car manufacturing plants all over the world.

One of the things I did that I definitely recommend for that map is building some mechanical pumps between the dam at the bottom of the river and the new Giga-reservoir, as that way you can move the captured water at Heavymetalton that isn't that useful, back upstream so it can top up farms etc. You could even use the golem's & terraforming to do that instead of making levees.
And surely you should do something with the strongest shaped lake right? Maybe a new farming district? There's some joke to be made there around strongly shaped things bringing life surely?

the more area, the more evaporation
if you spread the same as 5 blocks wide of water, into a 5 block deep well, you can store a lot more

8 Swedish ads I saw on ONE video a couple of days ago:
2 depicted a weight loss pill.
2 depicted a pair of lesbians kissing for Extra (gum)
3 depicted a biker who meets his future boyfriend because he swerved away from a moose for Gevalia (Coffee)
1 depicted two guys on like a “date” sharing some yogurt(?) to have something to talk about.

Correct me if i'm wrong, the water only erapprates from the top 'layer' so if you build an aquqduct in the middle of the area you want to keep green. And build it to be the same heigt as the water source. Then it can pretty much, never run out?
With all these lakes there is to much surface area?

I'll be good with whatever you do, but I will love as much as Heavymetalton beavers love each other, to see golems on this helix map. I think that a better end will be having all the science stuff unblocked. And be able to create stronger shapes, where and when you want!

Not sure if it'd be too much work, but maybe there should be a Timberborners spin-off series? You could give it a name like "Timberborners: Dam it all!" Or "Timberborners: Strongest Dam Shape". One could be long-running and the spin-off could be a mini-series sort of thing. And I know if anyone could make a *good* spin-off series, it'd be Matt!

So a quick lesson I learned playing this. In the Trading Post, Each Beaver will do 1 run of every resource listed per day so long as the requirements are met and the Drop off site is not full. So I have found that you get more resources moved having Multiple trading posts with 4 beavers than having fewer posts with max Beavers.

The mega reservoir project isn't complete until there's a mechanical pump system to get water from the very bottom into Engineerington. Otherwise it's mostly diverted water that's unusable, and only an architect would do that... Once the pumps are in, then the map is complete, as Engineerington will never be dry again.
Also, ditto that I'd love to see you get some robots running to fully realize the engineering utopia of zero hour workdays for the beavers.

I'm going to buy this now, RCE. I really hope my laptop can run it. If it can, maybe I'll try to record an episode. I'll build a bridge for you to review, get a few good shots and angles if I can, and I may even name a district the Real Civil District in your honor, with a properly engineered reservoir. It will be in The Strongest District, of course, near The Extremely Efficient Farm.

I think now that you've got everything established and it doesn't look like you'll be dying any time soon and you've a huge amount if Science why wouldn't you go for Golems now! Only issue I've had when I've been playing is the end game of Golems don't seem that worth while at the minute as there's nothing to use them for specifically that normal beavers can't do themselves. I can't wait for future updates to see where content will go. :D

Seeing the Bridgemas shirt, I am reminded that the papacy got its initial prominence during the reign of Constantine the Great, by whom, gave the jurisdiction of overseeing the maintenance and building of bridges to the city of Rome to the head bishop of Christianity and successor of Peter. The reasoning is because Constantine wanted to instantly give the bishop importance, in addition, the role of overseeing the bridges was originally a part religious and part secular role normally held by the emperor, a title known as pontifex maximus. The title means main bridge builder. In addition, Constantine succeeded in becoming emperor by defeating his rival after his rival fell into the river when the bridge he was on outside of Rome collapsed while going over it with his army. Constantine saw that as a sign of God. That success due to God was what initially gave him the idea of giving the title and position of pontifex over to the head bishop of Christianity.

Golem is also fun, but I would like to know what you get out of the Thousand Islands map.
Perhaps the most difficult one, there is no river (at least near the starting point) that can be dammed, but there is two large lakes with small islands inside. A creative and hard sandbox (I mean, swampbox) map.

  • @apocalypseinfantry5628

We obviously must continue! I've heard no fat beavers sing, so it can't be over. We have to know how this all works. Try some golems, fill out the districts. Develop the entire map! Run it through all of it's finite resources, and prove to the world that you are the ULTIMATE. ENGINEER. I know a few architects, and they think the series should be done here, but we know better, right? RIGHT?!

Your distribution post gets delivered to from any beaver managing said resource all the way to the east side of your capital, only for your distribution beavers to take them west, then way down south.
This, is a logistics nightmare. Make a closer distribution post. You'll be lucky if those four beavers even adequately supply the two districts in a resource crunch. Those trips to reservoirington will take most the day, meaning the beavers will finish second trip around midnight and delay eating/drinking and sleep in, meaning further failed delivery quotas. You might as well calling it damning-ton.
Save your beavers the torture. Please xD
