Her dad taught them how to serve by throwing footballs. Yes, Richard Williams gave them footballs and had them throw them thousands of times! I think it was genius that he realized that it’s the exact same motion.
Fun fact it was mama Oracene who coached Serena on her serve..
When I tried to do this with players at a club I worked at anf some of the other pros snickered and laughed, those bros work somewhere else now.

She taught her how to do her wrist flick thing to change the direction in disguise. Her mama is the secret behind that good serve.

Y’all not to brag but my coach told me to practice Serena’s serve. it’s what I did all summer and Let me tell y’all. I literally won my games with just my serve. I got my opponents off guard by using top spin and a slice serve when they least expect it😂

Actually that record was broken a couple of years ago by Sabine Lisicki unfortunately (. Venus has a faster but not as reliable serve as Serena. What is even more impressive is the height difference. Venus is 6 '1" Serena is 5 '9". And it's very difficult to read Serena's serve. All that makes it the BEST ever female serve in history... That's why they were focusing on her and not to the girls that serve harder then her...

Kaaun Hall venus’ motion has a lot of technical issues specially her ball toss. It may be fast but not that reliable.

Very interesting video, but there is NO WAY that Serena averages ONLY 2.5 fewer double faults per match than SHARAPOVA. Sharapova ROUTINELY hits 10+ double faults per match, sometimes MUCH higher. Serena routinely hits 5 or fewer, obviously a couple of mild outliers but even 5 is considered high for her. I’d like to see a citation or source for their calculation, bc it sounds DEAD WRONG.

Look up Pete Sampras. Serena has always said she modeled her serve on his. It was just as lethal as Sampras too. Sampras served to men and was deadly good. Serena serves to women and is the same. Same serve, two different players, same result. That result is greatness. Gender doesn’t really have anything to do with it.
