it's for the kid reading the comic for the first time, never having heard of Wolverine. That's an aspect to how comics are designed. I think Stan Lee said it, but that might be wrong but basically he said "Every comic book you write, is someone's first comic book ever. So you need to write the story in a way that is digestible for the new reader, while also still being engaging for the long time fan." So you do things like that to pepper in details that help them understand

@@TF-Times oh i agree, HOW you weave it into the story is a skill all by itself, but as to why it's in there at all, that's pretty much why. It's to help hook the new reader, so that they can more quickly pick up what's going on. Like how they also did the same for She-Hulk, how it mentioned her dual nature, but also that they are the same thing (when she's arguing with that projection of herself), and it also points out "she's got healing powers so she it's ok she just got literally gutted, she'll be fine" It's bite sized exposition infodumping for newbies. Some writers can do it more smoothly and subtly than others.

Hank pyms entire history and ultrons history would need it, because didn't ultron try to marry Janet after also calling Hank his father? Plus Tony's demon in a bottle was retconned to be deadpool's fault if I'm not mistaken, or that was dead pool being himself as apparently he is also the reason venom went violent since he apparently found the suit first on battleworld.
