Answering Bruce Wayne (prior to his quest to become Batman) must've felt pretty awkward, uncomfortable and out of place. Further distancing himself from the rest of the world but not from his heart

I remember an episode of Batman Beyond. They were trying to make Bruce Wayne believe he was insane. Using audio speakers to make him believe he was hearing voices. The big mistake was that it kept calling him Bruce. He later explained that's not what he calls himself in his head.

Its great writing. Superman answers Clark and Kal, signifying he identifies as a human and a kryptonian. Superman has reconciled the apparent differences in his identity. Whereas Batman lives and breathes crime fighting, so when the rope demands the truth he gives it. I like to think that he would answer "Bruce" if WW asked him while he was "off duty."

Batman is not immune to the lasso, and the later scenes confirm it, Batman looks affected because Wonder Woman was able to dig into his mind and see who he really was, since his parents were killed Bruce Wayne died with them. Incredible that Batman fans know nothing about his psychology...

Batman also, he is always thinking ahead. This has never been captured by any of the Batman movies. The master stragetist detective has yet to be portrayed.
Wonder Woman in cannon had always a mixture of characters. But, I like this version portrayed here. She is curious but decisive.

I think he meant Wonder Woman's spirit and capacity for love and trust. She truly believes in humanity. Something Batman has lost. And while Superman is optimistic. People like Lex and Darkseid have filled him with doubt. No matter what happens, Wonder Woman still believes.

You know it never occurred to me: does the lasso of truth prevent wonder woman herself from telling lies? Like even if she isn't actively compelled to tell the truth it stops her from being actively dishonest, or that doing so might prevent her from using it? (Kinda like thor needing to be worthy to wield his hammer maybe)
I imagine that's kind of like thor's hammer meassuring his worthiness. She NEEDS to be of perfect honest nature to use the perfect.

The lasso doesnt prevent you from telling a different form of truth unless you resist as seen here Because bruce was wearing his costume he IS Batman and thats the only identity thst matters at the time but if he had resisted he would have been forced to say his real name. You can see how when asked if shes a threat Bruce took some time befire saying "No."
That's not why. It's long been established that Bruce Wayne is Batman's disguise and he is just Batman. Bruce died in the alley with his parent's and Batman was born at that time, he uses Bruce Wayne as a disguise. When I say died of course I mean mentally, his psyche.

I'm just confused on the whole origin thing, because last I checked, them meeting during Darkseid's first invasion was their first meeting Wonder Woman. I can't tell if Rebirth put this event into the timeline even if it didn't happen to them personally. Like, Marty Mcfly coming home in Back to the Future part 1 and every event that led to his dad getting rich and his mom liking Jennifer didn't happen to him, per se, but happened to the world around him. Like an eye of the storm thing.
@@ericmiller1987 Pretty much everything New 52 did is wiped out. It's doubtful that Darkseid invasion even happened in current canon. But, Rebirth isn't exactly set in stone anymore either. They're constantly changing stuff so nothing fits even as far away as a few years ago.
@Jay-eq9gb But, everything from Red Hood and the Outlaws to Heroes in Crisis to Green Arrow working for Amanda Waller's JLA to Batwoman dating Nocturna has been referenced since Rebirth and after. The last two most recently. Wouldn't it be more likely that that's still the same timeline they're living in, but events like Doomsday Clock and Death Metal have given some people back the memories of their previous selves from another timeline? Not all of their memories, but some of them. And certain events that never happened to them have been added to the timeline, and as a result, new memories may have formed, as well. Like, with Batman Urban Legends. There's no way all of those stories happened to them plotwise or timelinewise, but they were added to the timeline as a result of Death Metal. Like throwing a rock into the pond, the ripples echo out, creating something new and distorting what is.
