Sentry,Silver Surfer, and many speedsters have all lost to Hulk…so come up with something better
That's the thing about comic book characters, they make a ridiculously powerful hero just to make him fight a stronger villain, making their powers kinda useless. What's the point of making your character faster than light when everyone they face can react to them.
Or a character like Batman can be punched 5000 times in the face, throughout his life. But has never been shot in the face.
Same applies to Spiderman, Cap, Daredevil, Falcon, who can dodge bullets all day from hitting their face, but manage to get punched in the face at least twice per issue.
I think a lot of Marvel fans overlook intent when comparing their respective feats. Superman tries to limit his collateral damage; Hulk doesn't. Superman's only limit is his conscience.
As a mere mortal man I could quite easily tear both Supes and Hulk to pieces.

Personally I think both DC and Marvel fiction is extremely flawed at times because both are inconsistent. Both have had multiple variations of their characters. BTW when Superman was first created his powers were pretty weak, couldn't fly and wasn't even close as strong as he is today.
DC and Marvel can change their characters and increase or decrease their abilities at any time.
It's not close because of writers. It depends who you like more. Then someone will just argue with a different version. Just like who you like. Doesn't matter.

Can Hulk reach escape velocity under his own power? Possibly. Generally both Hulk and Superman need to breathe at some point.
Hulk can't fly, Supes can. Supes is all but superluminal under his own power. Past it if he slingshot around a planet. Freeze breath and heat vision for distance attack or airborne assault.
Hulk Thunder clap is going to be painful for a guy with super hearing. Everyone talks about dragging hulk into space.
Good luck getting Hulk to go anywhere he does not wish to go. Throw, punch, kick, repeat.. Maybe.

The thing is you have to start adding "World Breaker" or other versions of the Hulk to even begin to compare to base Superman. When these debates begin everyone automatically assumes I'm a huge DC fan but I've always been more of a Marvel fan. I'm 55yrs old and have been a comic fan most of my life. My favorite character is Wolverine and he's been that way long before his popularity exploded. The thing is it's fun to have these "fights " but Stan Lee created Marvel characters to be more identifiable and down to earth. Whole DC charscyer were always meant to be world beaters and "Gods among men" types. Hulk holds up mountains...Superman benchpresses planets.
There was one comic panel where one of the many superman-knockoff marvel characters (might have been Hyperion) killed hulk several dozen times in a single day. Hulk's regeneration was so strong he came back to life every few minutes, so he kept getting laser visioned to death.
There was a few comic panels where one of the hulk-knockoff DC characters (doomsday) regularly dicked down superman and even killed him. There was another hulk-knockoff (damage) who put a beating on all of the Justice League as well. And if you're questioning the doomsday thing thinking he's stronger (you'd be sorely wrong about that based on feats) there's even that instance in a DC comic where Supes recalled an encounter across the universe where he bumped into Thor and "a green behemoth who was even stronger than doomsday" so even he admits Hulk is stronger than the guy who was stronger than him.
@@colecampbell1906 Killed him? There was no time Doomsday killed Superman. That was a title to grab reader's attention. And Doomsday is not a hulk knockoff. There were many large strong muscle bulkedc haracters before the hulk, they just never got to pull through in popularity.

Hulk fights with slow pokes. A Superman that dosen’t hold back would decapitate him again and again till Hulk’s healing factor eventually starts slowing down. He’s literally too fast for Hulk to react. The speed at which he travels and lands punches is what gives him the edge not strength alone😊.
Yeah bruh. Center of the universe to earth in 60 days? Bruh it’s over for hulk. Decap after decap before hulk could even blink. If not that, hulk would get with hundreds of thousands of punches from a guy who is equal to himself in strength. He just does not stand a chance against that. Hulk would literally be fighting himself, but with mftl+ speeds
Regardless of how the fight starts, it would end shortly after Hulk gets his only really good hit on Clark. At that point Clark would blitz him, and Hulk would die. Yes, Hulk would walk through the green door and come back, but upon doing so he would be facing Clark, who recognizing Hulks power wouldn't allow him the chance to hit him or anything else again, so until Hulk revives calm enough to talk he'll just keep getting killed. Even Hulk will eventually realize he can't win, and that will be the end of it.

I wouldn't underestimate Hulk's speed honestly. He is able to match Thor, who can throw Mjolnir to the end of the universe in a minute flat, and Hulk is able to dodge that hammer. And the Hulk has endured a radioactive aura that was described as having "the devastating heat of a miniature sun".
He cannot die at all. The hulk will never let him. In "Hulk the End" he is the last alive on earth over thousands of years, every day flesh eating bugs would devour all his flesh. Next few hours he wakes up new. Banner tried everything to end it, but hulk would not let him.
And hulk's punches can rip through time and space. And he is more durable than superman by magnitudes.
Fighting Sk'aar and the Sentry and Gladiator while not being destroyed is on a whole nother level.

I’m pretty sure that hulk’s gamma radiation emission would greatly affect superman. Tho not a kryptonite, superman is very much susceptible to a lot of radiation.

The only way I can see it is that the fight would end in a draw. Hulk is the same really as doomsday and no matter superman's power he still can't completely destroy doomsday. Hulk and superman would fight each other until they can't do it anymore like Hulk and Sentry.
Close, but DD is inferior to hulk in basically every way if we looked at what was quantifiable.
Hulk has better strength feats, better reaction feats, better durability feats, and even better intelligence feats.
And honestly, it couldn't be a draw. Eventually, if not right away, Hulk will end up destroying the sun just from the shockwaves of his punches. So it's just a matter of time until Supes eventually loses power and dies, but Hulk simply can't and therefore won't.
@@colecampbell1906You're forgetting the fact that Superman can actually FLY. Meanwhile all Hulk can do is just jump around which makes him limited. If he gets him up in the air it's a wrap. Not to mention he's way faster

1. Hulk has been dealing with flyers his entire life. This isn't some new twist he can't deal with lmao.
2. Hulk can redirect himself in the air with claps. So while he can't *technically* "fly" he pretty much can.
So even in the air, that's not a W.
3. Supes is faster, sure. He still isn't fast enough to avoid getting caught since hulk can and has caught quantifiably faster characters.
Now, put your bias aside and you explain to me how tf superman deals with a character punching him so fking hard that it destroys the entire galaxy, possibly the universe along with every yellow sun in it. I'll give you a hint, he simply wouldn't.

See danco it’s kind of confusing when in one versus when you put Superman and silver surfer against each other you say surfer is faster then supes but when you put hulk vs Superman you’ll say Superman is faster then surfer you have to be consistent with your scaling and comparing, it seems a little bias in my opinion and even if Superman has that speed still didn’t put him over the edge against doomsday nor darksied, not comparing darksied to hulk but in terms of infinite strength and durability can you rreally say there that much different

@@Wes_Bradley-Taubner basically if you go to danco’s surfer vs Superman video in terms of speed he gave the edge to surfer due to surfer crossing the whole universe in seconds, but in a Superman vs hulk video he changes up and says Superman is faster just to put Superman over the edge which is bias.
Doomsday and darkseid are almost speedsters as well. Especially doomsday, he’s a freaking kryptonian so he has that speed…. Doomsday has literally tagged the flash, the fastest man ever, same with darkseid, so they are not comparable to hulk, hulk is no where that fast. Hulk has fought silver surfer, gladiator etc, but marvel hero’s barely really use their speed in a fight, lol they show it more when traveling that fighting, silver surfer is a pacifist so he wouldn’t even try to speed blitz you from the beginning, most times he doesn’t even want to fight, but DC heros abuse their speed a lot in their fights, they always speed blitz, it’s a regular thing for them.

Even the feats shown, Hulk's are more impressive generally.. hulk as a being is more formidable.. Superman is not impossible to injure as we've seen him get injured countless times in comics from sheer force alone.. so that's outright wrong..
The only advantage really Is speed.. and it's nothing the hulk cannot toggle with as well.
Superman and hulk are extremely close and the winner could as well be who's story we're reading at the moment.
Hulk and Superman are incredibly resilient and nearly impossible to defeat.

If it exists in this multidimensional crossover, Hank Pym would discover it, and Reed Richards would find a way to implement it, and Hulk would then be able to utilize it. This is why Marvel is the better Comic Book Company. Superman IS kinda lame, IMO.

A huge factor of Hulk is also Banner, who is perhaps his world's preeminent radiological scientist, they can communicate between each other and Banner would most likely very quickly figure out the workings of Superman's powers and even his weaknesses to both kryptonite or magic (and Hulk/Banner do have their good Defenders buddy Dr. Strange on astral speed dial after all).

There's no way they'd figure out how his powers work. That's not something you can just DO, especially just by looking at him or scanning him. And there is ABSOLUTELY NO way they'd know that Superman has ANY issues with magic (he's NOT vulnerable to it, he's just not INvulnerable to it. Same as Thor). And even if they somehow MIRACULOUSLY figured out that Superman was vulnerable to a substance NO ONE in their ENTIRE universe has ever heard of or seen, and they have NO way to get, it STILL wouldn't help them, precisely BECAUSE they have no way to get any. Plus, this is a simple fight. If Hulk gets to phone a friend, so does Superman. Superman uses his microscopic and multi-spectrum vision powers, figures or Hulk is powered by gamma, and either goes to his Fortress of Solitude at hyper-light speed or calls Batman on speed dial, and gets a machine to siphon off Hulk's gamma and cure him permanently. Then, once he turns back into Banner, he throws Banner in jail.
Or, even better, Superman just grabs the phantom zone projector and pops Hulk into the zone. Forever. End of story.
Superman was invulnerable to magic (at least mostly) in the 1940's, got vulnerable to it during the fifties, was even more vulnerable to it than Aquaman in a JLA story that came out in the late 60's/early seventies but by the 1980's (before Byrne) was only inconvienced by it. Byrne made him overly vulnerable to Mixie (not going to spell that name!) but Superman is much more powerful now than during the John Byrne years so he really shouldn't be such a wuss dealing with it. And Mixie and Dr. Strange have never been invulnerable themselves!@@stormhawk31

Heat vision, durability, hearing, intelligence, breath, etc. Hulk isn't even in the same league.

And speed is a pretty big “only thing” to count as irrelevant. A being that hits with the force of Superman and a speed identical to the flash would be extremely difficult for the hulk to fight against.

Everyone always forgets about Superman's psychic powers. Dude can literally see your soul. Superman will hold back until Hulk poses too great a danger to… well… everything… When Hulk becomes too great a threat, Superman will reach into Hulk's mind, and contact Banner.
Also, I can't help but notice the people saying that this fight is somehow close. Hulk has been subdued by mere humans with good tech. Unless he's secretly a wizard, or gamma radiation is the real reason kryptonite harms Superman, it really is not even close. If Marvel wants to give Superman a challenge, it will have to be someone like Blue Marvel, Gladiator, or Sentry.

The Hulk is amazing, like Black Rob level like whoa, AMAZING. With that being said, Superman is a tale of a person without limits. Superman wins hands down.

Everyone will have their opinion, but the context to which you used was very Superman bias. Yes Superman has plenty of strength feats that involves his flight that would make him appear stronger, but not one thing you said about Superman strength was greater than a thunderclap that destroyed an infinite universe larger than the Marvel multiverse, a punch to a rock that illuminated that same universe, a thunderclap that temporarily put down the rage and wrath of Marvel’s omnipotent god. It was most obvious in your downplay of Hulk’s battle against King Thor. This was All Father Thor with added power from the Phoenix force and the Titan Gaea and was in world breaker mode and had the power to rip the world tree from its roots and overcome the power and will of all eternity and Hulk in base form was holding his own. Even your information on Superman doesn’t carry weight. Superman was amped by suns that were specifically placed by Batman in a specific order to amp Superman more than he has ever been amped before, he was moving faster than he had ever moved before, and hit the world forger with the strongest punch Superman has ever thrown and none of that is greater than the feats I described for Hulk. Even a weakened Hulk facing the amped Thor I described above destroyed the planet they were on and would have killed anyone who couldn’t survive planetary destruction, but when Superman delivered the most powerful punch he ever has ever thrown Batman was standing right in front of him and wasn’t in any danger. How is defeating a multiversal being with one punch not enough to defeat the Hulk who has been defeated by the Sentry(100 million exploding suns power) but was poor mentally going to defeat Superman who’s cosmology is way bigger than Marvel’s universal cosmology.
@@bigbonedones7162 Sentry has never beaten Hulk in a fight. Sentry has a calming aura that normally calms Hulk and they don’t fight. World War Hulk is the only time Hulk and Sentry have ever fought and Hulk won that fight. So what are you talking about? The reason Superman knocking out World Forger is cap is because he had to first be saved from dying by Batman. Then Batman had to line up suns in a specific sequence to power him up further than he has ever been powered up just to knock out a dude who uses machines to forge worlds whereas Hulk has defeated a three times powerful reality warper who can manipulate the multiverse with his thoughts with a single punch while being held down on the ground. No flying, no speed boost, no power amps just Hulk
Superman lifted half of The Book of Infinite Pages, do you know what half of infinity is? Still infinity...Spectre weighs an infinite amount, Superman lifted him...multiple occasions Superman has shattered reality with his punches, even rewrote DC Continuity with his punches. Superman and Hecate Wonder Woman fought demons for over 10k years, nonstop! And all of these feats were done by versions weaker than the current iteration of Superman, determined to be capable of every feat Superman has ever accomplished in any iteration of him. So no, Hulk does not even come close to Infinite Frontier Superman or his feats, and that includes Fractured Son Hulk.

Superman was the 1st comic superhero, almost as fast as the flash, his feats since 1939, have been in comics , TV, movies, net. His character has no bounds, with super speed, strength, invulability, a seasoned smart Superman can beat anyone even with certain weaknesses like krptonite, magic etc.People do not take the entirety of this into account.
As an old-timer who started buying comics in the 70's and 80's, this was why I was not alone in buying Marvel over DC. The characters have limits. Meanwhile, DC is full of Superman clones and almost every character who wasn't, they've bumped up in power to Superman levels. The power level increases for the Hulk in recent years is probably part of the reason why the Spiderman movies are doing so well. The character has been popular for decades, but I think people are tired of seeing overpowered heroes. Time to scale things back.

A lot of the stuff here isn’t even base level Hulk or base level Superman. If you actually look at their base levels respectively. Now if you want to see and look at base level feats of Superman I can name 30+ of them that put Superman at a multiversal+ level off the top of my head that significantly dwarfs Hulk in every way possible.

Nah - Once you get into the realm of WB Hulk, Superman is outclassed. Not just in strength, but the durability isn't even close at that point. WB Hulk is simply beyond SM. But most other iterations of Hulk, Superman has a comfortable enough lead in strength and of course, the speed aspect. That's why it's important to indicate which version of Hulk it is Supes is facing.

A fight comic book readers have debated for decades. For myself, it's been since the DC vs. Marvel series in the 90s where readers were able to vote, and now-defunct comic book message boards on the internet like WizardWorld and SuperheroChat. Agree with your general assessments. Look at the metaphysical histories of the characters and you see that Superman is DC's flagship character and has been written to be a nexus being in-universe, while Hulk is the strongest at Marvel but doesn't have a similar flagship role. That's Spider-man. Even then, Superman has more decades of history than both Hulk and Spider-man and is written to be just the best at everything, while most of Marvel's most popular superheroes arrived at a time when Lee and Kirby purposely created a bunch of characters with flaws to set them apart from DC's flawless heroes.
I was gonna write down every problem I had with this video in a list. But when DanCo scaled Hulk to High Outerversal but Superman to Multiversal, just to give say they are *SOMEHOW EQUAL.....* I don't see any point in spending an hour to list the problems. That speaks for itself.

The idea for freezing breath is based on the same principles as the wind around buildings getting colder the faster it blows in tight areas (no doubt how DC came up with the idea). Now if Superman is blowing out with his lips nearly closed (no jokes here please!) and speeds said air up it is freezing! If he is blowing the air out with his mouth open as forcibly as he can it is like a concentrated wind tunnel more like a hurricane than a freeze breath. Okay?
What happens if they fight in a place without a star around at all? Like in a dimension without stars. Hulk's powers do no require particles or waves of the electromagnetic spectrum emitted by a star to charge them.

Correct answer. This has always been my thought. Superman is extremely fast, strong and can fly. This is the obviously what he would do once he figures out how tough hulk is. He could even just fly him somewhere into space away and away from earth and be done with him.

Hulks 'weakness' is his power is more or less tied to his rage. He gets stronger and tougher the angrier he gets. If you take Hulk out faster than he can get angry...like Thanos did, and Superman could, moving faster than Hulk can think, Hulk is easily beatable.

Knocking out a guy with your most powerful punch because he is powerful does mean that you are powerful, but doesn’t Batman being in whispering distance of him when he is struck says that it is less powerful than a punch that destroyed the planet the fighters were standing on. If Batman was present when Hulk and Thor’s punches collided he would have died with the planet, but when Superman knocked World Forger out Batman was there to welcome him back.

Depends on which versions and depends on who got prep against the other. But assuming both at maxed with or without prep time, Superman has huge advantage because of speed and other enhanced senses like perception and vision. He also has other tools other than punching.

It’s not a question of you’re either evil or good. There is nuance in between and that’s what makes it interesting. Superman does not struggle to do good nor is he even human he is from another planet. You know who is relatable but still absurdly powerful? Blue Marvel!!! Because he has every right and reason to hate growing up in world or racism where the people he saves hate. Yet. He continues to do the right thing. It is easier to do the right thing when you beloved it is much harder to do the right thing even when hated. That is an interesting dynamic and better written story than Superman.

They made him gray which was smarter but weaker and then they merged Bruce Banner with the Hulk (like in the Avengers) but he lost his ability to rage etc etc. Same as Superman, in order not to make him boring, they kept changing him...
This pretty much sums up my thoughts on a supes, hulk fight the one big thing I have thought about is that this fight could literally last for years devastating wherever the battle is taking place.

I have to disagree. Hulk has never died. But Superman has on many occasions. If Superman had no yellow sun, Hulk would demolish him. You said Superman has to sun-dip to become that powerful. Hulk doesn't need to Sun-dip. He's already powerful.

Superman just needs 1 good punch to get Hulk into deep space. If he manages that, there is little Hulk can do against a being with near equal strength and flight and light speed reflexes.
If the fight is on Earth, yes Hulk may eventually become more powerful if Supes doesn’t realise Hulk’s ability to get stronger and hence try for a quick knockout.
Yeah, this isn't close at all if any IQ is used. Just use the insane speed differences to evade or even leave hulks presence all together, his rage inevitably eventually subsides whether he wants it to or not, then insta ko. I'd disagree, I'd think he'd equate Hulk to Doomsday and go scorched earth from the get go to minimize damage. There's also an encounter of the two in comics where Hulk hits him once and he goes flying, but then when he plants himself he allows Hulk to literally tire himself out swinging stating something like "when I'm braced and ready, nothing on this planet can move me".

How about when Superman pulls an entire solar system
Even if you ignore the extremes of Superman's speed - he's still often moved fast enough to break time barriers. So in less than a second, he'd be able to land tens of thousands of blows. And the Hulk would literally seem to be frozen in time so could not hit Superman. Also Superman has super breath and could suck the air out of the space around the Hulk although I don't know how long the Hulk can go without breathing. Lastly Superman could fly so fast that he could pick the Hulk up and have in in space before the Hulk could do anything. Even if the Hulk could survive in the vacuum of space; Superman could get him headed towards the sun and that's where the Hulk would end up.
Which powerset would u prefer, Supes or Hulk?
Anyone that reads both comics and isn't highly biased toward supes or DC knows supes would not beat hulk if hulk legitimately was determined to win and there isn't any plot armor dictating outcomes.
He's fast, but quantifiably not as fast as silver surfer, whom easily gets caught by hulk every time they fight. (This is because reaction time is completely different than actual travel speed)
He's strong, but feat for feat he's quantifiably not as strong as hulk.
He's durable, but can and does get overwhelmed eventually if he gets hit hard enough, whereas hulk would just continue healing whatever damage he takes and doesn't need a sun around to heal him.
One full force clash from hulk and you can say goodbye to the sun and goodbye to Supes source of power. Can't say the same for hulk though, his power comes from within so there's no stopping that.
And I almost forgot, Hulk can even fking absorb radiation now! So he could likely even absorb radiation out of supes to weaken him as they fight. Dudes OP af now, supes honestly couldn't fk with him anymore. In their original runs maybe, but not now.
So in reality it depends on if this is a realistic fight based on powers and abilities or if it's a fight in a story. If it's in a story supes might win simply because he's superman and they always want him to win. In a real fight however, he'd stand virtually 0 chance of ever winning it. He doesn't have any way of putting hulk down, nor does he have any answer for what happens after hulk hits him as hard as he can once and wipes everything out. Sure he might not lose all energy instantly, but he doesn't need to. Hulk has all the time in the universe to wait for him to drain empty and die, but hulk isn't going anywhere.

Problem is, Superman will always hold back. Hulk has one ability that Superman lacks, and it's a big one. The longer he fights, the more he gets hit, the angrier he becomes.... which causes him to literally get stronger the more rage he feels. Which then increases his stamina, his strength, and how much more harder he hits as a fight progresses. This is why literally beings that start out just as strong as the Hulk, can never win if a fight goes longer than a literal minute. Ben Grimm (The Thing), Red Hulk, literally anyone who is as strong as the Hulk at the very start of a fight, while get weaker the longer a fight lasts. Meanwhile, the Hulk will just get angrier and stronger the longer it continues. Superman, no different. Plus, we all know he's going to hold back.

The main issue is when writers create their heroes too powerful. I prefer vulnerable superheroes like Spiderman, Batman, etc. I never was a fan of Superman. It's some kind of Mr. Perfect that makes him pretty boring. I loved the stories of the Fantastic Four when Galactus appeared and watched them like insects. How will you beat a cosmic entity ?
If superman brings hulk in space he suffocates the end, not to mention that gamma rays which powers the hulk is also one of the types of radiation that is given off by the sun. So superman could literally absorb the hulks power while fighting him. It isn't close at all. Hulk is awesome and as strong but superman has too many other advantages that hulk cannot compete with. Hulk wouldn't even be able to touch superman unless superman wanted him too!

Comic characters are so broken sometimes, depending on the story being told/ writers writing. I wish there was a bit more consistency.

Your thorough analysis is excellent and virtually compelling, a wonderful mental exercise scrutinizing a fictional universe and I couldn't even think that either would consider fighting each other TO THE BITTER END when they're both COMPLETELY AWARE that they are both on the side of righteousness and EARTH .. BUT .. Just to play with the idea for a bit .. Now, .. There's story in the DC comics universe where Superman was defeated, NOT by a super powerful intergalactic being or some interdimensional demigod or not even a group of Super Villains, but by a mere Earth mortal .. Of course Bruce Wayne / Batman .. In short the story goes that Superman is infected with exposure to synthetic Red Kryptonite, which was created by Batman himself to make his skin transparent to weaken his cellular structure and affect his ability to successfully absorb the radiation of the sun, and etc. etc. etc. and although Bruce is intelligent, he isn't a life long dedicated scientist .. Now, aside from The Hulk, Banner's GREATEST STRENGTH is his intelligence and his full dedication to science. With this in mind, if Banner were to ever have an inkling that he'd have to fight such a worthy opponent like Superman, he would be more than capable of doing some research and development and come up with the same or even better solution to defeat Superman ...

Another excellent point. Hulk especially had trouble going all out for a prolonged fight back in his Tales To Astonish run but the first time it happened was in Avengers #3. Thor was holding off Submariner with one hand and holding his hammer with the other while Hulk used both hands trying to pull it away. Hulk was straining like crazy (frankly he looked like he was getting a hernia!) and suddenly felt his change back to Banner coming on and fled! Back then he wasn't even as strong as Thor much less Superman!
