Ichiro is the greatest baseball player ever born. There is no debate. Watched him play in HS in Japan, saw him in Kobe and caught a few games in Seattle. So F’n AWESOME!!!!!
There is no debate that you are wrong. George Ruth was 89-46 as a pitcher for the Red Sox, then hit .349 and averaged 44 home runs a year in 15 years with New York.
@@roberthudson1959 You're right that Babe Ruth is easily in the conversation for best player of all time. However, using pitcher wins to back up your claim? Extremely bad move.
Boston masshole checking in, Ichiro was almost flat footed when he caught that thing and still threw one of the fastest guys in the league out! WOW! Grew up watching Dwight Evans in right field, that's where I learned to appreciate a great arm! Ichiro one of the best ever, could watch him all day
Ichiro got him because he throws on the line. So many of today's outfielders throw with an arc. Ichiro is old school, which is why I loved watching him.
yeah, I saw a game in Seattle with Ichiro in right field. with a White Sox on 2nd a single was hit to right. as I watched the runner, I thought Ichiro had no chance at the plate. Ichiro fired a one hopper home and had the guy by 10 feet! the catcher dropped the ball. they gave an error to Ichiro. I turned to the fan next to me and said, "I'll bet the scorer doesn't drive a foreign car!!!"
Jacoby wrecked him at home, but that tough SOB hung on like a champ. Amazing that he was hit hard enough to be completely spun around, but even has his arm and body went limp his grip still stayed firm enough to get the out. That is all heart right there!
Josh Bard the catcher literally took a knee to the face. That's an F'ed up move by Jacoby, he looked like he was intentionally trying to injure the catcher.
@@robertsherman871 same here. Clemente was a favorite as a kid. Saw Raul Mondesi get one in the right field corner and get the runner tagging from second one day against the Braves
@TheBatugan, maybe your reading comprehension isn’t what it should be. I just pointed out that I have seen throws as close and closer to perfect because I am old.
I love Baseball so much more than Football; all players have to have many skills to play well and make quick decisions under pressure! Football: Ten second plays, interspersed with huddles! Baseball is a thinking man's(women's) game.
If you watch it closely the chin of the runner touches the back part of the hand where the ball is. Plus watch closely the runner never touches home plate.
What part of the catchers arm/hand must touch the runner? Any part that has the ball in it? What is the rule? If the catcher needed to touch the runner with his hand containing the ball, then the runner should be safe as he was initially called.
Yea that's Red Sox nation, they take their baseball very seriously. Fenway Park has been sold out for years every game. This game no doubt was sold out as well.
Sick Throw, But the Catcher the Catcher made that play and paid the Price for that play like a Mike Tyson knockout punch to the chin and he held on and didnt drop it.

PhillyPhan Ellsbury at the time was one of the fastest base runners in the game. He stole home from 2nd on a wild pitch once, gives you an idea of his speed. Even better tho....Ichiros arm.
It doesn't look deliberate to me. When they show it up close it looks like his cleat just gets stuck in the dirt and with forward momentum his knee shot up.

Announcers that actually understand what's happening. Rare.
Mike Blowers yes he’s an old catcher, Dave Sims....not so much.

The catcher needs to learn how to hard tag.

Much respect I agree that ichiro is the best. Dwight Evans is also legendary.
Ichiro’s got a cannon for an arm, and the catcher has superglue for a hand.
