    Mine just been delivered today cost me 800$ with shipping to Hawaii... Thanks for doing this video ur insights are cool and will make my work on it easy.
    My advise bro, when u see one online just buy it fast as demand on these ones is very high.
    Will try to make a video while i m changing mine... also i welded mine same as yours yet i did the mistake welding on bolts so only God knows how i will take them out and where to find bolts to replace the one i need to cut.

    6:30 man whoever sold you the car knew it was about to fail. You can see all the "booger welds" they attempted to reinforce it so they could sell it off. Be sure to rust-proof the new one. If it ever happened to mine, i would paint the new unit with epoxy paint so I never have to worry about it. Lucky I've been rustproofing mine for 10 years and original 2008 subframe still looks perfect, I highly recommend Fluid Film.

      I think in part 1 he mentioned that he actually did those welds! An unfortunate case of too little, too late.
      I'm glad to hear about your success with fluid film. I have a c207 chassis, so same potential issue but thankfully it was very clean when I bought it 2 yrs ago & I've kept it clean still. Planning on applying fluid film as soon as I either get the bushings done or obtain a bit more info to feel confident in doing it myself.

      Unfortunately they changed the coverage 1 year too late for me here in the USA

      @@MarkGeorgeFantasticAdventures I'm sure you looked into it already, but didn't the warranty cover retroactively if you've already paid for it?

    • @MarkGeorgeFantasticAdventures
      @MarkGeorgeFantasticAdventures  Před rokem

      I haven't looked into it. I should do that. I did the job by myself but I have receipts for the parts.

      @@MarkGeorgeFantasticAdventures It would definitely be worth it. Not sure if you can claim your time, but you should definitely be able to get reimbursed for all the parts.

    According to my guarantee, breakage due to corrosion is at the cost of Mercedes for 30 years (UK and Europe). That's why they don't pass along the guarantee. Its rarely a first owner's problem. How does it work in the USA?

    • @MarkGeorgeFantasticAdventures
      @MarkGeorgeFantasticAdventures  Před 2 lety

      Not sure how it goes here. I'm the second owner. Bought this car at 2 years old. I figured there was no warranty on rust. Maybe there is though.

      They repaired a friend of mine not long ago free of charge and supplied a courtesy car whilst she waited for the part to arrive. Her car is 17 years old

      I'm waiting on the part. It will be here Friday and I will share all the details about it when it comes. The guy at the used auto parts place said it will fit.

      Git the part Friday and it fit perfectly. The new part actually looked brand new. Not a spec of rust. I'm working on the video of it now.

      I learned all the bolts to make the cable as loose as possible then pulled the cable out of the cable clamp. It was tough but it came out
