Thanks for the inspiration. I replaced mine using your video. A few things I learned might help everyone. Instead of removing the speed sensor bolts (which they could break easily), I would disconnect the plugs of these sensors located behind the wheel liners. Also for the emergency brake connectors, you can actually squeeze the sides and they will come off easily.
Just want to tell you thank you. My 2011 E-350 wagon subframe cracked while driving a week and half ago and I came across your comment. Sure enough 100% covered by Mercedes and just go it back yesterday. Without your comment, I may not have done the research and reached out to the dealership. Can't thank you enough.
I really wish u have a Quick Jack. It gives u 50cm working height and it is very well made and safe when u read its user manual properly on making its lifting up synch well within 2cm accuracy. 2 separate hydraulic ram u see. I use it of my w212 e400 of 2014. Easily 50plus lifting i done. I inspect my under side very often. Stay safe under the car.
I work on a lot of different bmw's and Mercedes and I really don't get why people run away from them. I use to think the same until someone I do work on all there cars bought a BMW and said they had faith I could do the work so I dug into it and I've been a fan of German made cars and working on them. They are a lil different but easier in my opinion
I have a W212 E class and my subframe has rusted through, its a dangerous thing to happen as the car suddendly veered to the left under heavy braking , i will watch your video series but am so surprised Mercedes didnt have a recall on this appalling problem, as its across several products Cheshire UK
My first price came in, supplied and fitted a new rear subframe plus brake pipes and underseal £1654 I think that's around $2200 , i have a few more prices to come in plus Mercedes, I will chase them for a freebee .Cheshire UK
Hey, Mike. Somehow I missed your comment. I just reused the old bolts. They seemed like they were in good shape. I have heard of other people getting new bolts though.
I'm not sure about where to find other part numbers but I asked the guy when I called about the subframe that I bought to make sure it would work on my car. I'm pretty sure that the last 4 numbers are just a revision and don't have to match.
I got the sub frame from Benzeenautoparts.com The part was in really good shape and they knew exactly what I needed. I would recommend them. They ship it right to you.
My car has been in western Pennsylvania most of it's 13 years. All of the people that I have heard from with this problem have either been from northern U.S. or Europe/UK. Both of which would be getting plenty of salt on the road. I haven't heard of any southern cars having this problem.
@@MarkGeorgeFantasticAdventures Thank you Mark. I live in Colombia - South America in the North Coast, I inspected my car last sunday and my car is perfect. My car has 12 years old and with 150000 miles.

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you were able to get yours replaced. Here's to another 10 years with a great car.
@@MarkGeorgeFantasticAdventures what time you need for this job ?
I did this whole job in about 2 full days.
That is covered by Mercedes for 2008 forward .
No cost

Thank you very much for this video, I have the same problem, looking to replace the subframe myself soon. Currently shopping for one.
I found one for $400 that included shipping. Let me know if you can't find one and I will get you the info for where I found them.
@@MarkGeorgeFantasticAdventures where did you find yours from? I have the same problem my car is sitting lower on left side

I'm going to have to check mine when I go to swap back on the summer tires.

Thats crazy expensive. My 2010 C300 with 215000 miles on it is barely worth $2200 bucks.
Nice job Mark! Did you buy new bolts for the subframe and suspension or just reuse the old ones? I’m about to do this same job on my wife’s 2010 C300.
Hey, Mike. Somehow I missed your comment. I just reused the old bolts. They seemed like they were in good shape. I have heard of other people getting new bolts though.
@@MarkGeorgeFantasticAdventures No worries Mark. I also reused the old bolts and was able to complete the job no problem.
Detailed video! Is there a place where you can find part numbers for subframes? I feel like the subframe for my car is used in other cars too.
I'm not sure about where to find other part numbers but I asked the guy when I called about the subframe that I bought to make sure it would work on my car. I'm pretty sure that the last 4 numbers are just a revision and don't have to match.

My 2012 Mercedes benz c300 sport cross frame is shot.
Can you send me the info where you found the replacement please? Thanks for the video.

Is this happening in regions where they use salt in winter, or is it widespread?
