Aww you're not the only one. Was a bit of a dreamer as i kid and it feels like the song takes you on a dreamy escape with some of the lyrics and the melody . Not heard it for decades but instantly takes me back to playful childhood innocence where there's not too much to worry about. Guess the tears are a reflection or reaction that those days are gone....but we can still enjoy these songs and vids!
Similar for me Vikki. I was 12 though. A remarkable childhood and I found the song so very affecting. My father is gone now and mum is old and getting frail. It now takes me back to a time of security and love.

Same. As I get older I'm finding myself thinking more and more about being a kid in the 80s and realising just how amazing it was to live in one of the most interesting decades ever.

I remember this coming out and being touted as a 'Xmas hit' at the time. Never was in my mind - nothing 'Christmassy' about it - but it did herald the end of an era for that genre.
So glad i was young in the 80s.It was a great time for me anyway!.

Brings back so many joyful memories. I was a small child my parents were young and doing there best to provide and live there lives and supporting a young family both now sadly passed away and here am I reminiscing about a time when life seemed so perfect, I wonder if my parents also found the same feelings of nostalgia in music of there youth and there parents.
