Tip for spraying screws: use a cardboard box with screws poked into the box and then spay the tops of the screws.
Yup yup. I use that or a piece of styrofoam. 😊
Great tip!!
smart👍🏾
Also, you can spray a small amount into a puddle and just dip the screw heads.
Great tip
As a beginner home DYI person, I truly appreciate this video. Very well described and explained. Thank you!
I have a lot of respect for your honesty in this video. Very helpful! Thanks for the great content!
Thank you!! Most diy projects I found they didn’t have the plastic piece on their mirror, you helped a lot!
My setup is just like his so this video is spot on for me without a lot of complex details. Thanks for the straightforward video!
I am so glad I found this video! I knew I was in the right place from the beginning bc I have the same mirror with the same things holding it onto the wall that you had in the beginning with the same color and texture wall! I don't have those lights though (but I wish I did). And, we are currently trying to figure out how to frame the mirror (although that is not how I stumbled across your video). I LOVE how this turned out! This is exactly to my taste and my liking. And I REALLY appreciate all those little tips you gave (stopping up the drain, don't spray your wedding ring, etc.) ESPECIALLY the "don't put too much glue on it bc it will reflect in the mirror" bc that is something I would totally do. Thanks so much! LOVE this video!!!
Finally a tutorial that told me how to measure. I am terrible at math and doubt myself often, even on simply math things that I know are easy. No other video said to measure and then add an inch. I will be making this frame this weekend. THANK YOU
Would love to see your finished project/ mirror! My husband went and bought lumber for our two mirrors this morning.
Love the way it turned out! Great job and thanks for the tips 👍🏽
Thanks for this! Right to the point, very detailed and easy to follow 👍
Love the way it turned out!
Wow! This is amazing. Thank you. Very beautiful work. I love your extra tip about the wedding ring! 😂 Great additional tips. You did a gear job on your bathroom pieces!
Thanks. Very clear description! It turned out very beautiful.
This looks fantastic! So glad I subscribed. Will definitely be doing this for my cozy, little bathroom.
Looks great, my only concern is how would you remove the mirror if it ever cracks or for any other reason.
This was so helpful; just cut and installed my own mirror frame.
Tip * use pine board instead of pressure treated wood. Better for home if you have kids
This is great, and exactly what I'm going to copy on my own ugly builder-grade mirrors. Thank you!!!
This is great -- but the before and after photos at 6:00 are not just the "mirror frame." New faucet, new hardware, new light fixture, and new hand-towel holder, too. ;)
Thank you so much for thisvideo...You directions are so clear and understandable...love it
Great job, very simplistic yet effective.
nice looking brushed nickel finish with multiple water spray options
Our master bathroom has a standing shower with handheld shower head.
We started to see some rust spots in the hose not to mention heavy mineral built ups in the shower head because our house has very hard water despite water softener we have.
My wife picked out this handheld shower head to replace our old one because she loves the brush nickel finish to match our bathroom decors but this turned out to be very impressive handheld shower head.
Although I have replaced shower heads many times in the past, it came with nice instruction on how to replace it for those who's not familiar with it. My only advise would be to use wrench to hold the base spout when removing and installing the holding adapter so you don't accidently twist and damage the base pipe when you over tighten it.
I really appreciate that it came with plenty of plumber's tape because you really want to put that on before connecting different parts so that there's no water leak in between threads. This is one of most common mistakes and reasons why there's leak after installing it. Very happy to see that they have provided plumber's tape to remind you to use it!
It also had rubber rings/washers in each connector but it also came with extra one, which is nice. They also included a shower drain cover to prevent hair from going in to the drainage, which is a nice bonus. I really love the brush nickel finish, which makes it look elegant and expensive. The 7 different water spray setting is nice to have so you can change it for different purpose. We will most likely leave it on one setting for most of the times but it's nice to have option to change it when needed, such as jet spray for cleaning the shower wall, etc.
After replacing the shower head, I didn't see any leak and the stainless steel hose feels sturdy. I also like that I can rotate and tilt the shower head holder and it stays in place. Overall, very happy with this shower head!

I love how clear you explain this process. Did you seal your stained wood?
Very easy project that updated our bath! Great idea!
Your video was so helpful!
That looks awesome 👌🏻
Plus new sink faucet, vanity hardware, + nice touch
Thank you!!! This is amazing
This is awesome. Followed your instructions and did this for myself ❤❤
This is perfect idea... I can save a lot... thanks!!!
Thank you for the video very well explained I'm doing this tomorrow ...
Great 👍🏼 idea!
Thanks for making the video
Thanks a bunch for the awesome detailed step by step 😊
Thank you for sharing. It came out great!
Thanks for the comment. Glad it worked out.
Thanks for a great video! Did you do anything to work around the j-channel at the bottom? It looks like you just applied the wood right on top.
You’re tutorial made easy to understand and can’t wait to start my project. I even liked when you made time to say hi to your baby 😊.
Love you man, you are a genius
This is a good quick idea. I just finished mine and it does change the room. I followed everything he did except the liquid nail. I built the frame completely then used 3M sticky so that it was so permanent. The imperfections in the wood make it so only use 220 grit sandpaper. When you do the brekets before gluing it's easy to work with.
Oh yeah and I'm in Canada. It costed almost $45 no big deal
Great job!!
Marvelous work!
This was great thank you for sharing
Omg what a great tutorial!! Easy to understand and straight to the point! Thank you so much!!! I now know what to do to frame my bathroom mirrors
Do you have to seal the board with poly for water moisture?
We followed this and our new mirror frame is great. Your best tip was the fuze it. We did 2 L brackets on each corner (at outside and inside edges) which added strength. We also put small wood blocks on the backsplash to evenly space and support it until we were sure it was secure. Thank you for posting this… very helpful!!!
Do you end up with a gap between the frame and the wall? Did you put caulking to fill the gap?
Hi! what size angle bracket did you get for this mirror? I see it comes in 20,25,30, or 40mm
First class video: no music, no subtitles, no fast forward
great video he doesnt ramble on talking the whole time, just the facts and instructions..i like that
This is precisely what I was looking for. Great job. How has the frame held up nearly a year later?
I think the knots and imperfections give it more character.
WOW I LOVE THIS
Looks great
what made you pick pressure treated for this? That stain might not look as good as all that moisture works its way out of the wood over time.
Nice job! I like the addition of the angle braces.
Thank you Ryan. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
How do you take the mirror off the wall now? For like painting behind it, etc?
Very inspiring...
Love it! Exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want to spend $150 for a new mirror!
Exactly... all mirrors are the same .. it's the frames that make the diff.
Great and easy video to follow. I have a mirror like yours, but I noticed yours appears to be sitting on the backsplash of the counter. My sits in the metal sleeve that came with the mirror. The other edges are held with the same tabs. My question is... The metal sleeve is not flush with the mirror. If I remove the sleeve I do not know what would hold the mirror. Any suggestions?
Great ideo. What if you want to remove the frame later? Do you have to break the mirror?
Does anyone know the measurements of the wood? It’s the exact length I need. Thanks
How did you cover the plastic clips that hold the mirror in place or did you remove them?
Nice and simple. We like. Is "Kona" the darkest stain you found? What did you seal the seems with, if anything?
Would you recomend putting a clear coat since its in the bathroom and humidity will maybe wet the stain again etc?
Thank you for making this video. Your explanation very detail help first timer Diy-er go thro step by step😍😍😍
How did you keep from screwing into the mirror ?
Great job
what size lock washers did you use? you didn't mention that.
thank you!! My bathroom mirror is like yours but smaller in my apartment. I’ve been looking to make a a cheap wood frame that will be easy to remove when I move out. I’ll have to try this!
I won’t be able to apply the glue directly to the mirror though 🤔
You could use command strips!
This video has saved me so much money. Thankyou so much for sharing your video please post more!
Thanks for the comment, Kristen.
Do u think it will look good painting vanity bathroom the same color as the mirror frame like yours? My wall colors will be Dark storm cloud and the towel rack will be matte black and also shelves with matte balack pipes will be avobe toilet. Curtain rod is the same color too. My floors are life proof LVP light gray color with shades of white. Don't know what cor should I do my vanity bathroom top?
Fantastic. Thank you for posting. Can you tell me where you found that particular light fixture? It goes great in that bathroom.
Thanks for watching. I just put a link to all the fixtures in the description below the video.
Great tips!! Especially for those mirror clips. Did you use anything to protect the frame/wood from the water or moisture in the bathroom ?
he bought pressure treated wood
what about the screws that hold mirror in place, dont they stick out and cause you not to get the wood flat against the mirror?
Great job! I want to figure a way to do this and still be able to get at hardware to remove it if needed 👍
Looks great! Personally I would have taken the mirror off the wall, moved up 1-2 inches and made a notch out in wood for the width of the mirror and mirror clips. May be able to get away with no glue then, and wood frame is flush to wall. To avoid bloching of stain (some areas darker than others) can use a pre-stain conditioner.
Great comment. Good ideas for next time.
There's many ways to make this project more complex, but the need doesnt call for it.... for a quick non weight bearing frame that's just for looks... this more than does the job.
Cool video! :)
wow, fantastic
Usually, it is release the clips and take the mirror out. But, given the clips will be gone after you put these beautiful frames, how are we going to remove the mirror, should there be a need to do so. Thanks once again for the video. It is very helpful indeed, and of course, the frames are aesthetically very pleasing. I am contemplating to do something similar.
The one thing I don't quite understand is that, isn't there a small gap between the frame and the wall since it's sitting on the mirror and overlapping or how did you get it flush with the wall without cutting a groove in to account for the thickness of the mirror?
Hi how you didn't tell us how long you cut each frame ? Is it same size as the mirror or abit longer ?
6:10 new faucet, new towel rack, new handles, new light fixture. Didn't know a simple mirror frame could transform the whole bathroom lmfao.
Just thinking about what if I need to remove the mirror, looks like you are covering the screws with the wood glued..
Suggestion.. you might want to use double braces so you don't have to glue the bottom board. I.e. if you later wanted to replace the countertop, you might want to just pop off the bottom board for access rather than having to pry the bottom board off the mirror.
Great idea. Thanks for the comment.
So the wood is entirely on the mirror, correct? And you add an inch to all four sides?
So was is it maple wood you used?
Never heard of an industrial farmhouse lol. Looks great though!
Lol I thought the same thing
Thanks great explanation! Where did you purchase the lights fixture ? Thx
The 3 bulb light used in this video can be found here: amzn.to/3haXdRH. If you need help installing, you can follow this tutorial: czcams.com/video/0XF1eb5Bnzg/video.html. I used this larger 5-Light Bathroom vanity light in the tutorial: amzn.to/35AZWCh
What if the mirror has those silver pieces holding it on the top and bottom? Do we just place the wood directly over those or would they need to be removed for a more seamless appearance?
Remove and replace with washer, if screw is button head, replace with flat heat
They installed the mirror on the frame but I can see the reflection of the glue. Anything I can do?
I got to the point where I stained my wood with varathane stain and poly but the wood is bowed. When I went to glue it, the sides were not touching the mirror. I wonder if it bowed while drying or if it was already like that but I don’t know if/how to salvage the wood and finish my project.
We are in exact same spot. What did you end up doing? Scrapping it & starting again? We have two boards already glued on before realizing just how bowed they are & aren’t connecting right.
No sealant on the wood? In a bathroom? Needs some poly over the surface. To keep the rustic look you can use a flat sheen which is better than nothing, but a higher sheen would be best.
Great video! I will give this a try. Question, won’t the screw head and washer give it a bump to where the wood will no longer be flat against the mirror?
Using the same glue to attach the mirror to the wall would bypass the need for the screw and washer. I'm with you, there has to be a bump and that would jack up my project.
@@davestockton5340 I was thinking the same thing. Glue it is.
I'm just starting this project and got the standard plastic hangers, and then I thought the same thing...the boards won't be flat against the mirror. I don't want to glue the mirror to the wall, so I'm going to chisel out a small recess on the boards to accommodate each bracket, they will lay flush against the mirror that way.
Do you add an inch to the 36” so it’s 37”
Or Add an inch to both the left and right side of all 4 pieces so it be 38”?
Do you not have to cock or fill the gap between the mirror and the wood? You mentioned the glue does not show if you go down low enough but is there not then an opening between the glass and the wood?
Do the screws thatre going into the brackets actually go through the mirror itself or just the wall?
Just into the wood. Maybe 1/4” or 1/2” at most
It’s really a nice idea. Did you drill the screws into the wall or just the wood?
Did you watch the video?
@@JenOween I did watch and installed the mirror frame in my house
really nice finished product, especially with the rest of the room. That'll be an absolute pig to ever take down though - I would have looked at a different mechanism for holding your mirror. Perhaps a couple of z brackets painted black (to match) with enough clearance to get a screwdriver to them in the future.
Just break the mirror
congratulations on 100,000 veiws
Does this mean you can't remove the mirror since the frame covers the nails on the wall?
Invest in an orbital sander. You can also get a fantastic result with a propane torch on the wood (Shou sugi ban method) followed by sanding and sealing
Was the brackets decor or was needed
Nice job. Would you do a video on how to frame a mirrored medicine cabinet.🌾🍂🍁🎃
What's the color u used it..
Thank you so much for your video🔥
