Lesson 13: How many?
I also teach Natasha the difference between THERE IS/ THERE ARE.
These are REAL lessons. No actors. No scripts. A real learning experience.
Do you know a friend or family member who needs to learn English? Tell them they can learn along with Natasha as I teach her the basics of the English language.
I will not be posting captions (subtitles) on these early lessons. I want beginners to develop their listening skills. I will write important information on the board. Happy Studies to all!

I am glad my lessons have reached you in Auckland. Thank you for making them a part of your studies.
Regards to all!
I'm happy you are watching. Keep going! There are 65 lessons. I will post more.
How are you
Hello and thank you for the kind words.
Regards from the U.S.!
I think I already "won" something important. I'm very happy to have the opportunity to teach through video.
Kind regards to you!
Hello.
"People" = plural.
Correct: There are a lot of people.
In informal spoken English, you may hear the contraction "There's" with both singular and plural nouns. It's not standard grammar, but it's fairly common. ("There's a lot of people who want to meet and talk to the President.")
Hello!
Today "email" is used as a count and noncount noun. Examples:
1. I need to check my email. (noncount)
2. I have a lot of unread email. (noncount)
3. He sent me an email. (count)
4. How many emails are there from the client? (count)
You may also hear the phrase "email message" (count).
I am a senegalasesman (in west Africa) and everyday I stand your course. Since, my english is improving. Thanks teacher!
I'm glad the videos can support your teaching. I hope to make more lessons with Natasha in the future. Regards!
Hi mam i see your all l English lesson your teach method is very interesting and emazing so i want you teach me English Thanku....❤❤Have a nice day 😘
Yes, in "is" the "s" sounds like a "z."
Wonderful! I hope you'll look at all my playlists. They nicely organize all the lessons.

Jennifer, The best teacher of the youtube... I don't think so it's possible somebody do what you're doing...
I'm from Brazil and I have learned a lot with you...
I hope you can read this and understand.
Never stop it!
@teach4math
Yes, you can learn with Natasha. :)
Corrections:
I do not (don't) speak English. I speak Spanish. Your lesson is very good. I'm just like Natasha.
@lupapp
Don't be too hard on yourself. Tackle a few challenges at a time. For example, focus on pronunciation this month. Watch my series on English Vowel Sounds, and also check out pronunciation lessons posted by EnglishwithStacy, RachelsEnglish, and EnglishMeeting. In the coming months, review what you've learned from all of us. Next month, you might focus on grammar - perhaps articles and combinations of adjectives + prepositions (example: complicated for whom?). Good luck!
I'm happy to know you liked it.
@deexus
The tip of the tongue is between the front upper and lower teeth, but not to the point where it's sticking out. Air flows over and under the tongue, creating some friction. More friction is between the tongue and upper teeth.
I’m Egyptian lady I start to learn English from your videos thank you very much you are the best teacher in the world I love you a lot
Hello. Please also watch my new Basic English playlist. czcams.com/play/PLfQSN9FlyB6Rm4xMKTyahH3oUOgF0tU4T.html
@moodyxray
It's one of my plans to cover all the consonant sounds at one point. I already covered all the vowel sounds (see the playlist for vowel sounds). If you study the vowel and consonant sounds, then you can start focusing on the use of intonation and stress patterns (within words and at the sentence level). I already have a few lessons on intonation and rhythm in my English Pronunciation playlist. I'd also recommend EnglishwithStacy and RachelsEnglish.
With such a teacher as you I could studied and Chinese language :)

Yes, you can give a short answer. You can say only the number.
Q: How many books are there? A: Three.
But it's good to know how to form the full sentence. :)

Hello Teacher Jennifer, i have a good time learning english with you. thank you. you are great!
Thank you jennifer because now i learned in you english lesson for free.. GOD bless! :)
Hello. It takes regular, dedicated practice. Your ears need to grow accustomed to the sounds and then perceive them at a faster rate. You also need to gain practice listening to different speakers. You can watch these videos, in which I tend to speak slower and use more basic vocabulary. When you watch my videos for upper level students, watch multiple times. Watch once just to become familiar with the content. Then watch again and use the captions. Then watch and don't read. Repeat. :)
teacher Jennifer you are very good teacher for beginners, for me also because I am learning from you. thanks you very much for these videos over English.
God will give you all things you want in your life this is my prayers for you my teacher.

You are a good teacher! I enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for that!🎉🎉
Thank you for watching! 😃
Jannifer, you´re an amezing person. You´re so patient and kind. I´ve been learning by myself and until now I have trouble to pronounce some words. When it comes to a longer speech, I feel lost. People can understand what I meant but I know I haven´t spoken correctly. I´ve been watching your videos. There are some words like: men and man, watched and washed which are too complicated to me.
